Oops almost forgot my weekly review: This time I'll only use SMILIES to depict how I felt! ;)

Danny Gokey: "Stand By Me" :)

Kris Allen: "All She Wants To Do Is Dance" :surfweb:

Lil Rounds: "What's Love Got To Do With It" :scared:

Anoop Desai: "True Colors" :surfweb:

Scott McIntyre: "The Search is Over"

Allison Iraheta: "I Can't Make You Love Me" :thumbsup2

Matt Giraud: "Part Time Lovers" :sad2:

Adam Lambert: "Mad World" :worship::worship:

A very interesting night for sure. Highlights and lowlights with what I think is clear cut winners and losers.

Top o' the world:
Adam (uh, duh!)
Allison

Middle of the Pack
Anoop
Danny

Bottom of the Barrel:
Lil
Scott
Matt
Kris

Going home? Scott, but should be LIL.

Y'all get outta my head now Robin! Seriously, it's like we're sitting on the couch watching the show together.

"...Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for ME-E-E-E-E-E-E....!"

:rotfl::rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

You crack me up!!!

I was thinking Adam could I Just can't wait to be king.... that could be interesting.

When You Wish Upon a Star...:scared: (I HATE that song!)

I would think it would be songs solely in Disney movies.. not subsidiary songs like Life is a Highway and other ones like that. I can't remember is Sarah McLaughlin When Somebody Loved Me was released as her single first and then went to the movie or went the other way around.

Adam has the range and notes to do When Somebody Loved Me.

The stinky group song could be Zippede Dooh Da...

Someone also suggested God Help the Outcasts from the Hunchback of Notre Dame that would be great for Adam.

That could be interesting, however it is a lesser known film. I am probably one of the few that enjoyed it.

Those Matt and Scott look-alikes are awesome! :lmao: My bro mentioned how Scott looks like Beavis, and every week I comment on how Matt has a messive forehead

Really? I am just so suprised of all the people that hadn't heard of this song before.

Tears for Fears had a HUGE presence in the 80's. Now if you weren't alive then, I'm feeling really old. I know some areas didn't really embrace Brit pop like others (for example I was the only person/teen in my small country rural town that liked something other than country/southern rock) -- Not to be stereotypical, but that is what it was!

Tears for Fears also did that awful song "Sowing the Seeds of Love" which I think was released in 1990, IIRC. I have that CD somewhere in the house.

I had no idea it was in Donnie Darko. I've never seen that movie, but it sounds like something I would like (strange, dark and quirky). Donnie Darko was released in 2002, 20 years after original release.

Donnie Darko takes place in 1988, and yes, you should see it. I was a small child during the 80s and I remember Tears for Fears.

My niece introduced me to Tears for Fears when she was a teenager and I was a disco dancing diva in the 80s. I fell in LOVE with them! They're all over my ipod! But I've never heard that song... :confused3
Of course I YouTubed it and it's mesmerizing and gorgeous.

I was also a huge Tears for Fears fan in the 80s. During that time I spent one summer backpacking through the South Pacific. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that I was on the same small motorboat with the band & girlfriends (and one wife at the time) in tow, heading to Beachcomber Island - a tiny, tropical island off the coast of Fiji. We spoke, because I was the only other passenger besides them on board And I told him I was a professional musician as well. We hung out for a few days on the island, partying. The boys were lots of fun, heavy drinkers, and a little eccentric - bt I was used to that 'cause the music business tends to attract people who march to their own drummer.

I listened to Adam's version of the song again this morning and it almost brought tears to my eyes. When he sings the second verse, about not fitting in at school, it's incredibly moving because I'm sure many of us can identify with it. Had to laugh at the collective meltdown on his fan boards last night when collective TiVos and DVRs cut out his performance. Don't think anybody would react that way if the speech by the president got cut short, LOL.

.....Sooooo, ADAM'S GONNA SING "A WHOLE NEW WORLD"????

I love that song, I could definitely see him doing it.

Those Matt and Scott look-alikes are awesome! :lmao: My bro mentioned how Scott looks like Beavis, and every week I comment on how Matt has a messive forehead

Loving the look-alike pics as the peeps really could be related!

I'm chiming in really late on this, but since I didn't see anyone else point it out-

a couple of people posted last night complaining that Adam had had the pimp spot twice in the last couple of weeks. He hasn't. He had it in his semi final round. His # to dial the last three weeks has been 8. So two weeks ago two people sang after him and last week one. If you include the semi final rounds, the only person left who hadn't had the pimp spot is Scott. And even if he makes it another week I doubt he'll get it then either. They try to start and end the show on high notes so unless Scott blows them away in rehersals, he won't get it.

I'm wondering what else Mad World might have been used in. I've never seen the movie mentioned but I'm familiar with the song. I don't think it got much radio play in the early 80's but maybe that is what I know it from.

Oh it's not so bad! Here are a few that come to mind:

You'll Be In My Heart
Reflections
Can You Feel The Love Tonight
Candle On the Water
A Whole New World
When You Wish Upon A Star
You've Got A Friend In Me
Life Is A Highway

....soooo, A Pirate's Life for Me is a no-go eh?

It'll never be an all or nothing with fans, they're as different in their particular demographics as any group.

I'm NO ONE'S demographic... except maybe Lil's and I don't like her at all. I'm known for liking the "cute guy" but Kris turns me off. I like the different kinds and entertainers, so Adam and Allison gets my vote. They NEVER bore me. I like Danny but he's kind of boring me, too.

Scott and Anoop I still like but they've become sort of boring, too. Matt's okay but he's a wannabe and that is such a turn off... :scared:

Right now it's anyone's game. I'm not calling it because you never know what could happen. Tweens kept David A on top so they might just do that for Kris and who knows? :confused3

Exactly! There have been some very popular people booted off before their time..and if they get voted off when there are only 4 left left there is no save anymore.

As long as no one sings "It's a Small World"... :scared:

why are you hating on IASW??? ;):lmao:

If it had been another contestant that tends to be in danger, I can see performing after the show's normal cut off time possibly having a small effect. However, it isn't like they didn't show it at all. It is just those people who pvr'd it that got caught.

Right, it was shown live. Idol tends to run over all the time too. I guess I am glad my husband is too cheap to spring for 5.00 extra each month to have the dvr for our cable.

That was hilarious! :lmao::lmao: If he sang that I'd actually pick up the phone and vote for the first time since season 2 :lmao::lmao::lmao:

If it's actually a Disney week, I can't see them doing anything but the late 80's, early 90's Disney songs - stuff from Lion King, Aladdin, Little Mermaid, Tarzan, Beauty and the Beast... those movies had songs with cross-over appeal that actually did well on the charts with popular artists.

And if they included the Broadway shows it gives more choices.

My kids (20 and 23 and the boyfriend and girlfriend) all like Adam, Matt, Allison and Kris. They all loved Adam's performance last night. However, they like Lady Gaga too.

My kids don't like Lady Gaga...and they :gasp: didn't like David Cook!!!

:scared1:Kewl story!!! Wow!!!

You and I would get along well.. lots of people consider me a bit...."eccentric" too....

I'm more familiar with it because my son was doing some on-line gaming and he heard it in the background. So, being 12, he downloaded it and continued to play it non-stop for a month. :)

what happened to the you tube of adams last night song? it was there earlier and now its nowhere to be seen. crap first my dvr and now you tube.

This is what I found on Wiki (it was already changed to add Adam):
