I agree. Not sure who would be getting all the text votes that seem to sometimes make the different. If he is last, I think he will be saved and no one will be going home this week.

Being the 80s music geek that I am, The Hurting (Tears for Fears album where Mad World is released) only went up to 74 in the US charts. So I guess with us having that album downstairs, we are one of the few. Who knew? My DH is just a bit older than you and was a big Brit pop/dance fan so he knew them as well.

Songs from the Big Chair was HUGE! Shout, Everybody want to rule... and other songs were big--so I guess most would know two or three songs.

I actually like the Hurting more than the others. I guess I'm going to have to see if the old turntable works so I can pull it out and play it.

I love Adam's taste so far... If he can pull out some Smiths, old Cure, Love and Rockets, Echo and the Bunnymen ,or even some Midnight Oil (NOT BEDS ARE BURNING) he would just go up so much in my book. His high hair look is a cross of Robert Smith and the dude from Echo and the Bunnymen.

I remember in my younger years hearing "Shout" and the "Everybody wants to rule the world" song, ALL the time on the radio, and still here those now. I just never heard of the one he sang last night

i usually just lurk over here but had to comment...now that would be awesome if he didn't something like that. i love that kind of music and he is the one to pull it off.

he is just so different and pulls songs that are not so obvious... but great songs. he is def head and shoulders above the others

Wow! Adam's performance was amazing last night. After listening to Mad World I can't even recall any of the other performances from last night. I think that he really is in a class of his own. And thanks Cindy B for the lyrics to this haunting song. I remember Tears for Fears but had never heard this song. The lyrics make me stop and think and Adam's haunting performance added to the emotions called for by these lyrics. This is so much better than seeing some performers smiling through a sad song like they don't even hear what they are singing.

And this may be out of place but I want to add that I am touched by Adam's parents. The love and acceptance that they show for their son is inspiring. I am a devout Christian living in the conservative Bible belt and the way they support their son is a great example of the love we are called to have for everyone. It is easy to see why Adam is a confident performer. I hope that this did not offend anyone but I just had to say it.

I also hope dialidol is wrong with that last place prediction. That performer is my second favorite by far.

Anyway, while I am not a big Adam Lambert (although I do think he's the "prettiest" boy I've seen in a long time ), and I never really liked that song, I do think he knocked it out of the ballpark. It was awesome. I've been humming it all morning! He revitalized an old song and that shows his talent.

I also thought Matt and Allison did great jobs too, although I'm with asta, after Adam, who even remembers them!

I do think REM covered it-- now that you mention it. I love me some Michael Stipe too! The song is on Gears of War, but I do believe it it is the Gary Jules version. There is some confusion online that Gary Jules is/was part of REM but he is not.

I do think Adam brings the pretty as well--although I don't think I could ever date someone that uses more product than me.

I like that he is willing to be who he is without hesitations.

ASTA, I don't think you would offend anyone. BTW I am also Christian (Republican, Conservative and Right to Life, to boot) , and I absolutely LOVE Adam. I don't care what his "lifestyle" is, he seems like a genuinely nice, caring man and the best singer that AI has seen in quite some time. I also agree that his parents seem to have unconditional love for their son. If there were more parents that supported their children so wholeheartedly, well... the world would be a better place, wouldn't it?

I completely agree. My family's as open and accepting as they come, but that's obviously not the case for so many people around the world. It's nice to see parents who love and support their son for who his is, which is what we should all be doing... not just for Adam, but for people in general

I'm also surprised by DialIdol! The person in last I thought had a pretty big fan base. I think he has a lot of young fans though, so hopefully text votes bump him up!

If it had been another contestant that tends to be in danger, I can see performing after the show's normal cut off time possibly having a small effect. However, it isn't like they didn't show it at all. It is just those people who pvr'd it that got caught.

That could be, I really have no idea. I thought he'd have a lot of young girls fans because he's cute, but Adam's taking everyone's fans away I love Adam and Allison the best, they're talent is unparalleled by anyone else there, and I was glad to see Allison move up on Dial Idol! My DD's 16 and 19 plus one 22 year old boyfriend all like him and they do not like Adam at all. Like I said last night my 19 year old leaves the room when he sings because he creeps her out and as she said "he gives off a really bad bad vibe" Not sure what she means by that but something about him from the auditions on just really bothers her. And it is not the lifestyle choice at all.


They like the last place person and they like Anoop. They also liked Alexis a lot.

None of them will go over to Adams side.

I think that is a perfect statement. But, he is good (better than good) and he knows it. You have to have the level of confidence to pull off a win. Right now he is at the right level of cockiness to put his creative juices in full gear. I just hope he doesn't go over the top! He does walk a fine line between brillant and indulgent. It'll never be an all or nothing with fans, they're as different in their particular demographics as any group.

I'm NO ONE'S demographic... except maybe Lil's and I don't like her at all. I'm known for liking the "cute guy" but Kris turns me off. I like the different kinds and entertainers, so Adam and Allison gets my vote. They NEVER bore me. I like Danny but he's kind of boring me, too.

Scott and Anoop I still like but they've become sort of boring, too. Matt's okay but he's a wannabe and that is such a turn off...

Right now it's anyone's game. I'm not calling it because you never know what could happen. Tweens kept David A on top so they might just do that for Kris and who knows?
