We all loved David Cook last year. but what really happend to him? I never hear his song on the radio anymore?? Sadly I hear more about David A. Adam fan should remember that winning AI can be the death of a singer

I'm still amazed that Katy P was wearing a cape embroidered (in large letters) with Adam Lambert's name. AI chose Adam to win ages ago. Even Simon reminded the public to vote for Adam.
And ummmm...to save anyone the time, I would never buy it was a wardrobe malfunction that AI producers didn't know about.

Anyway, it's "reassuring" to know the winning game plan is on track.

I don't agree w/ you. I'm 26 and LOVE Kris! I know a lot of other non-teeny boppers who love him too (including people on this board). We all voted like crazy for him! I think it's just a matter of preference.

I'm curious to see how the Danny votes split up. I keep thinking that they'd go to Kris b/c his style is closest to Danny. However, some Danny fans might blame Kris for Danny getting the boot. Should be interesting!

I'm old, anyone under 30 is a teenybopper to me!!

Death of a singer? Do you think anyone who makes it to the top two are doing WORSE than they were when they got on the show?

Just because someone is not on your radio channel everyday doesn't make them a loser. I hear every year about how no one knows where Fantasia and Ruben is and I hear them all the time! I have NEVER heard a Carrie Underwood song on my radio, doesn't mean she doesn't exist. I realize that what I'm in to everyone else may NOT be into.

BTW, I haven't heard one song by David A either. I know he's out there but not in my backyard.

I can spot a teeny bopper singer a mile away. Know why? Because I DESPISE that type of music with every bone in my body (ala David A.) That said, I don't have Kris pegged as a boy band singer at all. If you listen to some of the contemporary pop singer/songwriters such as Jason Mraz, Ryan Adams, even John Maier, that is what I most compare Kris to.

The difference between Jason Mraz and John Mayer is that they have nice voices, where as the more I listen to Kris, I don't think he does. To me he sounds like the JB's with his nasally whine voice, half the time I can't even understand him. I don't think Kris is a teenybopper boy band type either, just that his singing is (almost) as bad as Nick Jonas

David Cook is currently in regular rotation on Boston's top 40 radio stations. He has two songs that are being played (I don't like either of them, even though I like him). David Archuleta got decent airplay for "Crush." I have not heard anything else from him.

What you hear depends on where you live and what kind of station you listen to.

David Cook's Light On got so much airplay it was ridiculous! His new single isn't getting quite as much attention but I hear way more of him than David A.

I really don't think Kris is getting only the teenybopper vote. My twenty something kids and their significant others think he is excellent and very, very current. They also like Adam, liked Allison and Matt but did not like Danny at all.

As a pushing 50 person myself, I think he is a great talent and I think he will do very, very well commercially. Heck, his downloads are already way up there.

Kris's unplugged version of Heartless showed without question his amazing singing ability. It takes real talent and guts to do an AI live performance with just an acoustic guitar.
Kris is not the actor/showman that Adam is. I'm OK with them having different styles.

And people don't choose who they like. It just happens. It wonder what the results of this season would have been if it was only a radio show and we didn't get to see any pictures or hear about the personal lives of any of the contestants.

I never invalidated Kris, I think he is talented and I love that on top of singing he plays instruments. I just happen to think vocally, Adam is superior. Since this is a signing competition and not an all around talent comp, to me the clear winner would be Adam, but we will just haev to wait and see next week. I have been surprised before. Either way, I'm sure Kris will do quite well, just as the JB's have, my dd will probably love to download his songs, she just better make sure they don't end up on my ipod

I have to say, one thing that has been so neat, for me, about Kris is that I ignored him entirely for such a long time. I was just like "Adam, Adam, when is Adam on? Is Adam next? Adam is great. Adam Adam" But every week, ever so slowly, I began to notice Kris. I'd be half-sleeping when he came on and then be sitting up straight by the time he finished. I just think he's the neatest little singer dude. And more recently I've really enjoyed watching his reactions during the results shows where he's been so shocked to learn he's going through. He seems to be as surprised as I am about the success he's had.

I can't remember one good looking guy in last years group- Castro was just dirty looking and David Cook looked like an alien. This years group was certainly nicer to look at though it is not a beauty contest.

There was so much hate going around on this thread that I was trying to sit this one out but you had to go and insult Jason Castro. He was my favorite last year and he is not dirty looking. Dreads are not dirty if they are taken care of and, besides that, Jason is just so good looking with the most beautiful eyes ever.

I for one am really excited about this years final. For the first time I really like both of the performers in the final. It will be exciting listening to what they sing. Adam has an unbelievable voice and Kris has a quiet beauty to his voice. I think that we are in for a real treat next week.

I find both Adam and Kris to be such gentlemen and genuinely great guys. I really don't care who wins. They will both be fine. I honestly think that Kris is going to take it!

I don't know if kris is the same as grays never heard it. As far as kris getting teenybopper votes I'm 22 and love him. His preidol stuff is like what's on my iPod now. I love singer/songwriters that aren't as mainstream.

Is it very different from The Fray's version? To me it sounded almost the same during the show.

It sounds exactly like The Fray's version. I HATE when idol performers take someone else's less-known remake and everyone automatically thinks they're a musical genius I love Kris but "Heartless" was faaaaaar from original. And they're all guilty of it; David Cook did it a lot last year.

I don't see Kris as a teeny bopper at all! I'm 22 and have loved him from the beginning. I think there's a big difference between what he's doing and what the Jonas Brothers are doing. They do have similar voices (whiny!) but Kris has more of a singer/songwriter vibe. I LOVE Jason Mraz, Gavin DeGraw, Val Emmich (who Kris reminds me so much of!), Eric Hutchinson... all those singers who have similar styles. That's the thing though... if Kris wins I have a feeling he WILL cross over into teenybopper land! The AI producers are all about creating overproduced, giant pop albums so with his voice, Kris' music will resemble the Jonas Brothers more that anyone would like. The singer/songwriter vibe is all about being independent and creating music that's personal, emotional and low-key... something the AI producers would never allow!
