i have to agree. all of the "performers" that were on Idol last season, save for Shakira, were men. and yet all of the contestants had to sing one of their songs. so how is that fair?

I think it's just easier for a female singer to sing a male singer's song than it is for a male to sing female...KWIM?

not all the time, tho. sometime's a male voice is so deep it's impossible for a woman to ever hit the same notes.

I like when they do decades better than singers...much more of a choice on songs.

i agree. you know what i DIDN'T like from last season?? out of nowhere they pulled country week out. ***!? honestly.....why?? it seemed like they WANTED Bucky, Kellie, and Taylor to win because of that. that week made me so angry. worst week.

Can anyone tell me what AI rewind is about? I am watching it now...well it's over and it says it's 2007, but the itnerviews are from last year and I don't recognize these people.

well i didn't think the guy was gonna win AI. i knew Taylor was going to. but i thought it was cute!

i'm pretty sure the AI rewind is just a recap of what happened on AI. they've only done the first season as far as i know.

So far my favorites this season are Antonella and Chris Sligh, however i'm not really crazy about anyone. The guy who used to sing back-up for Christina has an amazing voice, but he's not one of my favorites for some reason. I love Chris's sense of humor and voice.

Wasnt it Bailey that asked for heelp in the bathroom and the one girls said when I help you I mess up....thats why in a competition like this you got to look out for #1...She should have never went to sleep it she was unsure of her lyrics...I still blame Bailey for messing up....but it sounds like the other 2 were only for themselves...which is ok...I guess its cut throat

I thought the group that made the comment about every time I help you, you mess up was the group with the Columbian singer (Shakira wanna-be) -- making that comment to the Columbian girl. I think she was the one that got worse each time the other girls tried to help.

BTW, was that also Marisa in that group that made the comment about helping?? I didn't really "know" Marisa until the last night in the room with the judges at cut time.

Robin I know you are trying to get us to focus on season 6....BUT I just wanna comment on something I just saw and heard....I just saw Bucky Covingtons new video on CMT top 20...it was like 13th....I heard this song the other night on the way to work and I really liked it...the video is very good too...He has not recieved a make over still looks like he did on the show...but the song and video are very good...I wasnt a huge fan of his on the show...I guess I was neutral but I am a fan of this song...

OT...Norah Jones who I love love love has 2 songs in the countdown in 2 weeks from her new album....love me some Norah Jones....I get to see my favorite in concert this week...George Strait....New Edition was just here although I missed them....not a bad year so far in music for me....

BUt just think what it could have done for the 2000 election. Surely there are more voters in California and New York than Florida?

I am not a big fan of these 1st couple weeks...I would rather then show more hollywood rounds and fat foward through this and lets just get on with the final 12....Just cant really get a sense of who is who in the 24...I think it throws th voting off....maybe its just me...

From what's been advertising, it looks like the 12 will all be picked this week. Yay! No weeks of waiting!
