From what's been advertising, it looks like the 12 will all be picked this week. Yay! No weeks of waiting!

That is not the case:

Stupid question - is this week live or taped? I know we vote. I thought it was live.

But one of the girls is from our area (Nicole - she's not originally from Philly) and there was an article about her in our paper. In the article they mentioned that this week's episodes were taped. I think that's wrong . Thought they went live with the final 24.

If I remember correctly, the show doesnt go live until the final 12, when they move to the bigger theater with the live band.

Yea, and she graduate high school here in Berks County and attended the arts programs and had a vocal coach from here.

Too bad I don't like her (well, I'm sure she's a fine person. Just not my favorite performer.) It would be fun to see her in the final 3 with the homecoming and all.

But we're Philly fans, right? So we know that she'll like make it to the final 4 and get voted out. That's just what happens in Philadelphia, right?

Aw Shucks! I was hoping to get it over and done with and get to the real meat of the program, the final 12.

I admit she didn't make an impression on me at all, I don't remember what she looked like even....maybe she'll grow on me!
It would be nice to have a crazy homecoming for an AI contestant in Philly, although it seems that when the contestant is from a big city, it's not much of a celebration. Remember the crowds that turned out for Taylor and Elliott last year - they had parades, concerts, met the mayor, etc. And then Kat, from LA, didn't have much of anything - I think they went to her mother's house or something.

I think at one point they did pick the top 2 but the last few years they eliminated 2 guys and 2 girls each week. I remember liking this better because you get to know the top 12 better when you hear them sing each week.

I can't wait for tonight - I hope Chris S., Sunjaya, Sundance, Nick, Brandon and Phil do well .

I don't know what all the hype is over Blake Lewis , I am just not impressed with this guy. Maybe he will prove me wrong tonight, but I am not counting on it.

I like a lot more of the guys than the girls this year, but maybe that's because they didn't show half of them in the earlier rounds.

NY is a big town, too, but if a popular AI made it to the end we'd turn out for them BIG TIME!

This is an email from our babysitter's (Lindsay) mom.

If you are an American Idol fan please watch and vote for JORDIN SPARKS !! She is a friend of Lindsay's that has been at K-Colorado for the past several years. She is only 17 and has a great voice. She has even sung back-up to Michael W. Smith. Lindsay said they would put her on the loud speaker to sing at night and she was like "the voice of an angel".
Tonight the guys sing and tomorrow the gals sing. It will be fun to see how far she goes.
