do you subscribe to amazon prime?
you like the 2 day guaranteed delivery , right?:cool1:

well do you get the subpar smartpost deliveries?
( those are the ones they send through the post office)

Do yours ever show up ON TIME?

in the last month I have had 4 that were late, one was a whole week late!

this happened before & I ignored it, but this month I started calling back to amazon to complain.

they say its up to UPS, they seem to think it will get here the same for cheaper.

so, Amazon has been giving me credits, not much but either $5. or $10. the one shipment was supposed to arrive on a Friday,, nope still enroute, they gave me $10, then when it didn't arrive on Tuesday, they sent out another replacement item overnight *free*.

interesting, these were items all under $15. but I am curious how high they would go with a *free* replacement. (to clarify, you also got to keep the original item if/when it arrives)

I just checked my account, item supposed to be here TOMORROW is out for delivery......... to my post office, which will not arrive there till about noon, & mail has already left. so I'll be making another call to amazon.

anyway, just wanted to know if others had problems & to give you an FYI to call to get a credit on your account.

My problem with Prime was items (in stock) not being pulled to ship until the second or third day after I order! Yes, the shipping takes 2 days, but the whole process takes 5 days or more. It was so disappointing that I decided not to subscribe after the free trial.

Knock on wood, I don't think I have ever had them miss the mark on shipping by much. I think the longest I have had was ordering on a Saturday with the item arriving on Wednesday. I have had a couple instances in which stuff arrives the next day.

If they do start slacking in this, it will be a very sad thing. It is on of those things right now that is almost too good to be true.

No, we haven't had this happen as far as I know but will start paying attention!

No -- in fact I often get my items in one day without even paying for the one day delivery.

That's the same with us. Not all the time, but sometimes we get it in one day.

I haven't had anything sent by Amazon Prime arrive by Smartpost (which I don't like). We have had Prime since its inception and I don't think anything was ever delivered past the two day window. But if they go with Smartpost and items are late, I will be calling Amazon as well.

Almost all of my Prime orders come UPS. The few that do not are always USPS.

UPS delivers the majority of my Amazon orders. The rest are delivered by Lasership, which handles Saturday deliveries. I also recall them delivering some packages on Sundays.

Anything that is Prime eligible arrives within 2 days via UPS or Lasership, never USPS.

I've had a one day delivery as well as missing it by a day due to SmartPost. I hate SmartPost! All orders, other than smartpost, arrive within 2 days. It might not get packed to ship for one day but it always arrives within 2 days of ordering.

Most of my Prime orders get here in at most two days and sometimes next day. I rarely get USPS shipments but do get a lot through a courier named Prestige and sometimes they end up taking an extra day. I am not really bothered about waiting an extra day though.

The only time I really have waited for a package is when it was coming from a smaller seller who probably don't have the staff to pull stock quickly. I still think Prime is a great value and between corporate purchases and personal ones I make back my Prime fee many times over.

Never had a problem with Amazon. I actually get all things I order on time or before I expect them.

I don't have Prime. My experience is that my orders from Amazon ALWAYS come before the estimated shipping says they will come.

As far as SmartPost, I've never had a problem with SmartPost from any online retailer. I think the SmartPost experience you have is a function of your local post office more than anything else. Our mail carrier does a great job and we live in a town with one of the big regional post office distribution centers right here in town, maybe that's the difference why we get our stuff quickly.

I think I have had 2 problems with Amazon in all the years I've used them, which have been very rare.
My stuff is always here in 2 days via UPS, except for the occasional package which shows up in one day. It always amazes me when that happens, I have no idea how they do that.

I get amazing service with Amazon Prime.

Unfortunately, Amazon is losing a lot of money on Prime, largely due to members making lots of small purchases while the shipping and handling costs Amazon absorbs are large.

I'm afraid they'll have to cancel or substantially revamp the program to keep it going, but in the meantime I LOVE Prime!!!

Haven't had any prime orders come via smartpost. I hate, loathe, despise smartpost and have never had anything arrive on the expected day with it. It always delays deliver a day or two. I look at ups tracking and see "on the truck for delivery" and get excited -check later that day if I don't get the package and see %#%^! Smartpost. 2 days later I finally get my stuff.

If I ever see a prime delivery turn into smartpost and it's delayed you can bet I will be complaining to Amazon.

yeah, ive been seening a lot of smartpost lately from amazon... but hey, UPS usually delivers around 6-7pm, usps smartpost usually comes around 3pm for me, so win win i guess... haha

We also have a regional carrier in SoCal called Ontrak, i see them a lot too...

I recall buying a cable for $2.00 with 2 day shipping, im not sure how they make money off that... :\

I DESPISE SmartPost. It used to be that most of our Prime orders came via UPS (which I loved!) and then it was a combo of UPS and Prestige (some guy in his own car whose idea of delivering our packages--which were OFTEN late-- was to THROW them on our front porch from several feet away. :headache: I complained about Prestige several times. Now, more and more of our packages are coming via SmartPost. :headache::headache::headache: Not an improvement IMO. I really miss the days when it was almost always UPS. I'm not ready to give up Prime yet, but I might at some point. I definitely order a lot less from Amazon than I used to.

My last Prime order (well, expect for the one I expect to get here tomorrow) got here in one day. I went on to track it and saw it said delivered. Sure enough, it was on the front porch! I was shocked!

Oh no - I would hate if they cancelled this program! I admit that I rarely order anything from Amazon but I've been a Prime member since the very beginning. I love Amazon Instant Video. :goodvibes

I thought that Amazon's Prime shipping model was based on having distribution centers in strategic locations throughout the US where they had "free" next day shipping via UPS (I had never heard of SmartPost - had to look that up). For example, my city has a distribution center and Amazon isn't paying a nickel more for 2 day delivery than they would regular ground because UPS has my whole state in a free next day coverage area.

But I guess if you did a lot of small shipments, that would quickly eat into your membership fees either way...

Oh, I hope Prime doesn't go away!
