Amazing Race, Family Edition. *Official DiscussionThread*

OH! They are there now, they look so nice and happy, half of their $$ is going to their parents!

I'm happy with the outcome.

I will say one thing for the Weavers, though. Their cab driver ran a great leg. :rotfl:

I am so glad the Linz's won! They are giving half the money to their parents and split the rest between 7 siblings. I get to see them on our local news Friday.

I didn't get to see it last night, but have it taped. I came here to get the official results!!! :) I am so glad the Weavers didn't win!!! I can now watch it and enjoy!! I still wonder if there will be any mud slinging in the press between the Weavers and any of the others now that it's over. If they really looked that mad when they didn't win, then that is totally classless. Can't say it surprises me though.

That's great if they showed Mount Fiji for the next AR. I'll look forward to that beginning! ::yes::

Hah hah hah! Me too! I tivo'ed it and didn't want to even watch it if the Weaver's won-I just didn't want to give them two hours of my life. But now I'm so excited to watch the Linzs! Them, I'd definitely give two hours. Well, actually, it's Tivo so it's more like an hour and 35 minutes :rotfl:

What was up with Phil's pants?

OMG I'm laughing so hard at this unintentional double entendre that I just snorted my tea out through my nose! Gag, ack, giggle!!!!! :rotfl2:

Were the Weavers on the Early show? and if so, what did they have to say?

right now on NY CBS News they are showing the Linzs and doing an interview

Edited to add, they said they are giving their parents half the million and splitting the rest between all the siblings (there are 7 of them all together)

I'm so glad they won. They really are great kids their parents must be so proud!

Have they done any interviews w/the parents or other siblings? I'm curious to know what they think about all this.

I'm glad the Linz Family won, but I would have preferred the Bransens to win. They were soooo close! Wally did a great job at the puzzle :).

Do you think the production team keeps the 2nd and 3rd place teams back while the 1st team basks in the glory of winning? It seemed that Wally was really, really close and they didn't jog in until a few minutes later.

I'm so p'oed right now. Our local news ruined it for us. They showed a preview saying, we'll have the winners of the Amazing Race at 11:00 and they show the Linzs running down the football field  Now, I know the final pitstop wasn't there, but it was obvious they won, arrrgghhhh!!! and to top it off, Phil was wearing a long shirt for most of the show.

Assuming they go by what they said about the money. Half to the parents and then split the other half 7 ways. Each sibling will get: 71,428 before taxes.

I am happy the Linz family won. They seemed to be having a good time for the most part and did interact well with every other team save the Weavers. I thought this episode seemed to be more like past AR's. The tasks seemed more on par with past whole seasons etc. I actually liked the "final" task. The Bransen's took some risks last night and it kept them in the game. I will even compliment one of the Weavers. Rolly is a man. That guy sure worked hard as hell. My only gripe towards him is that when the girls of his group wanted to give up and he wanted to keep going and look in the upper deck why didn't he. Did I miss something that said the family had to work together. He could have gone and done it himself. I was confused as to why he didn't....did his mother tell him "no." Just wondering if I missed something. It turned out not to matter, but them giving up just seemed weird especially Rolly.

The order of finish was exactly the one I was hoping for. I thought the Linz family was so much fun to watch and I also give a lot of credit to Wally Branson keeping up with his girls.

As much as I disliked the Weaver mother and girls, I did feel bad for Rollie. It seemed he did the majority of the tasks and unlike the others, he never wanted to give up and quit. The look on his face when his mother was sleeping in the arena and his sisters were saying to forget the whole thing was sad to me, he so wanted to continue looking. I thought his family put a very large burden on his little shoulders.

I wondered that too, but I assume they had to all do the task together. I don't get the Weaver's actions in that task. How dumb. But then again I didn't get them all season.

I think that may have been a rule. I think they have to get clues as a team. I remember several times during the whole race where the Bransen daughters were yelling for Wally to hurry up when they were already at the clue box. They did this last night at that one dome place. And also at the stadium. Wally was looking in one section and the girls were up ahead of him yelling at him to come to them. Plus it's not really fair to the other teams if the girls got to sleep while their "task" was being completed for them.

On the early show... They showed some of the teams outside (you know how they do the circle thing behind gates and everyone has a poster). It was the segment on giving toys to hurricane victims. Did anyone see that part...???

Well the Weavers poster said......

WE Love (a heart) Florida AND UTAH!!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I guess they got some flak for how much they slammed the state of Utah... too funny!

Is there anywhere on the web where they explain these rules (say a former contestants site or something). I would really like to know all the ends and outs of the rules. The thing with last nights task though is that all the teams were somewhat split up so that is why I didn't think it would be a problem with him looking. There have been many times where teams split up to find the clue and then have to be together to read it or say in a task where other/s do the work while one rests (railroad building thing this season where Megan basically sat out). The rules just seem to vary from episode to episode. Remember the big chair in AL. Not everyone had to climb up in the chair to get the clue. One person did it and brought it back to the others.

YAY!!! I'm glad the Linz's won!! There are seven siblings in that family? That is amazing.... and that they are splitting the money the way they are? Their parents did something right with the for sure :)

Nobody should feel too badly for the Branson's, they won a quarter million dollars worth of gas & news cars to go with them throughout the race at the pit stops... they did okay!

Good show and good ending.

Didn't realize the Linz family has 7 siblings.

Missed the Early show, would have loved to see it.

You know, the Branson family COULD have won it because they were the first to find the yellow/white flag from the Tornoto skyscraper using their binonculars and then shared it with the Linz family.

Looking forward to next seaon's episode.

The Weavers were on the Early Show and the Bransons were, too. Did anyone notice when the Early Show host said something about everyone burying the hatchet in regards to fighting with the Weavers? One of the Weaver brats nodded her head to say "no". What a poor sport.
