Amazing Race All Star starts 2/23/14 Offical Thread no spoilers

Margie also has a nasty streak. I don't recall the situation, but she replied nastily to another team about something or other that seemed innocent enough.

Sent from my Nexus 7 using DISBoards

Now that you mention it, I seem to recall her doing that too.

I'm sad that Team YouTube went home. I really liked them.
I actually like Brenchel this season. They're communicating so much better, and she wasn't calling on crocodile tears and whining that she wanted to quit.
I like them better too. Luke and Margie are on my list of the next to go. I didn't like them on any of their seasons.

I wondered the same exact thing while watching the previews!!

I understand getting frustrated and all, but that looked strange. It was also strange the way his Mom reacted and spoke to him during his outburst. It was like she was talking to a young teenager not some one in their mid 20's.
You're being too kind! I told my husband Margie was talking to Luke as if he was a toddler!

I liked them their first season, but they keep getting more and more annoying.

Wasn't there a team who wanted to check in before settling their cab fare once and Phil said no go? I have a feeling they're not allowed to go back and tie up any loose ends at all once they check in on the mat.

I bet they would have needed to take race time, either right then when it was a safe bet the backpack would still be there, or once they had their next clue and were racing again, in which case who knows where the backpack would have been.

I honestly didn't see that partnership working anyway; both of them may have been from KY, but they were very different people and not having a chance to mesh before trying to get along in a high stress environment didn't help.

I like the cowboys, but their inattention to detail sure frustrates me sometimes! I can't quite decide how I feel about them asking the afghanimals for route info and then floating past them as their raft fell apart either. On one hand my competitive side says it's all game play so go for it if you can. On the other hand it's still early and burning bridges can backfire, especially when you don't always pay attention to detail. LOL

Phil made em go back and pay their cab fare yes. But think about how many cabs that show uses. So they don't want a bad reputation. Personally, I think that teams should not be able to help each other out. The team should win or lose on its own merits. Obviously if someone is drowning, you save them. But short of an emergency, there should be a rule where the teams don't help each other. If the girls hadn't conned that guy out of an express pass, maybe they'd have been at the back.

They had to giveaway express pass right. It made sense because they were not going to win or lose leg, and this way they know it is used. I thought it was smart of them.

This is completely non responsive to what I said.

So the logical conclusion to be made from what I said is they shouldn't have had to give away an express pass.

No need for the nasty response. The PP poster was replying to you last sentence about the girls conning the Cowboys out of the Express Pass.

Wow...it's just a discussion forum. I think the pp was indicating the fact that while you would like a rule that the teams are not allowed to help each other, that in the current game that is not how it works. When you mentioned the fact that had the girls not gotten the express pass from the cowboys they may have ended up last, the pp. was stating that the cowboys were required to give the express pass to someone, because the current rules require that the team that gets the express pass must "help" another team by giving them the express pass within a certain amount of time, and in this particular case it worked to the benefit of the cowboys, as in, they made a smart game move for them.

I don't think Margie and Luke came across as poorly as it was teased in last weeks preview. I'm glad they persevered. That challenge did not look easy. It did occur to me that they had absolutely no choice but to do this task. The other task required the ability to hear. So it tells me that this made their situation all that more frustrating. Not too much unlike when the Harlem globetrotters are stuck with one person doing a task because one of them exceeds height requirements. (This happened this season and a prior season--though they do handle it much much better than Luke.)

And WOW to Rachel. This chick is not the same girl from a prior season. Mega impressed with her sportsmanship and her overall lack of self pity. She was amazing.

So as not to spoil the ending--I was pleased with the outcome.

Look forward to next week.

I was also surprised at Rachel's attitude tonight! But what surprised me more was that she was wearing........pantyhose? I didn't catch it all, but is that what she said?

Yes she said it! Said that is why I am slipping, I have to take off my pantyhose. Um ya think? Who brings hose on the amazing race?

Edit to add who brings pantyhose anyplace anymore?

And what about Luke's announcement? I saw the love between his Mom and him in that moment. As annoying as they both are, in that moment I was touched.

I think she was wearing them with her shorts, kinda like how they do at hooters to make their legs look better

She seems big on her appearance this season. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

But I do like her better this season. They either edited her really poorly in her last appearance or she has had a remarkable maturation since her last appearance.

Either way--she wants to do well in this game for the sake of doing well and not because life is not fair and she deserves it.

I am quite surprised and give her much credit for the person she is now.

I have actually liked her since big brother, even though she cried a lot I think she was a strategic game player on that show. With Margie and Luke it reminded me so much of the tea challenge.

I never saw her on Big Brother.

I do remember that folks who saw her on both her first season of AR and BB didn't care for her so much.

This makes me believe that shows opted to show the weaker moments.

It is more difficult for me to believe that someone has done a complete 180 change in personality.

Perhaps she has always been this way, but for whatever reason, the shows opted to show her poor moments.

Whatever the reason is for the change, she is totally likeable to me now.

I will have to rewatch this evening. I was in other conversations with guests (not interested in the show) at the time, so I will have to catch up.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I couldn't believe that she was wearing pantyhose in Malaysia no less! Wasn't it really hot? I said the same thing to my DD, "Who wears pantyhose anymore?" Still, I like them a LOT better this season. I am very glad it was a non-elimination leg :thumbsup2.

As for Luke's "announcement", everyone knew he was gay (and out) on his very first season so I was confused about why they chose to show that clip :confused3.

Does anyone remember Jessica and John from their season? they seem so ... dull. I'll need to dig up Season 22 and see what I said about them at the time.

He went to pout in the bathroom! He has a bad temper or as Margie calls it a low frustration level.

And Rachel said it herself, she has grown up and is ready for babies.

The challenges last night were tough. The drink thing looked easy but I am doubtful I could have done it...same with the record scratching. I too am impressed with Rachel. I watched her on Big Brother and she was very strategic and good on that show...but VERY annoying. She continued to annoy on past season of TAR. Pantyhose, though :crazy2:.
