Amazing Race 11 - All Stars (begins 2/18/07)

Thanks! That Wikipedia just floors me -- they've got so much on there!

I haven't followed this thread, but I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but I'm glad to see Mirna and Schmirna again! I know "Mirna" was quite the snob, but they always had these mannerisms that made me laugh.
I thought I was the only one who liked them! Sure, they used the "It's an Emergency!" and Charla used her size to her advantage, but they too always made me laugh.

FWIW, I also don't hate TTWSNBN (Romber for those who didn't follow the Season 7 thread) this season. At least not yet.

I would have liked to have seen the Bowling Moms come back. They were two woman who split the tasks evenly, making it to 4th place while Kim (of Chip & Kim the winners of Season 5) did only ONE task the whole race.

Yes! It was after that season where they announced a new rule that teams had to split the challenges equally to prevent one person from doing all the physical tasks. I haven't heard much about that lately. It didn't seem like they were necessarily following it much last season.:confused3

I recently watched the earlier seasons, and noticed with co-ed teams, the male team member does a heck of a lot more roadblocks than the female (race #5 is the prime example of it with the 3 finalists), as oppose to same-sex teams, who usually alternate.

Interesting that AR fans aren't hard on Kim (#5) for doing only 1 roadblock during the entire race, as oppose to Flo (#3).

Persnally I think too much emphasis is put on who does the invidiviual challenges. Very few teams have come in last because of those. It's usually people getting lost, choosing the wrong option, or doing poorly at a challenge that included both team members.

The Bowling Moms lost because one of them couldn't climb the cliff quickly enough. It was purely physical. IIRC, the Bowling Moms made it to the task before a couple of the other teams did, but ended up last.

That wuss-bag Kim wouldn't have been able to make it up the side of the cliff any better than the Bowling Mom did. I didn't think it was fair that she sat around on her pretty little butt and had Chip do everything. I am very glad they changed the rules.

Well, just a few more hours!! :cool1: Can't wait to see tonights episode. Can someone tell me what Mary's shirt said? I've seen a few references to it but I wasn't able to read it last week.

I agree with a lot of you guys that Kevin and Drew didn't seem to have their hearts in it, I hope they come around this week.

I have to go out tonight - there isn't anything going on that will mess up my DVR recording is there?

I don't have a problem with only one member doing the road blocks.

If I remember correctly, the only road block Flo did was the one selling food.

I don't think they should be allowed to have people from the various countries play tour guide. I think it's OK to follow a cab driver(if you pay him/her) but not have someone hop in the car and escort you from point A to point B. The lady “helping” Amber do the shopping road block really bugged me. She went so far as to take the list and run from vendor to vendor. All Amber had to do was follow her and hand over the money.

The added help that some teams are able to get bothers me much more then one person doing the bulk of the road blocks.

I can't wait to see Charla square off with D &K tonight.:chat:

I'm just amazed that people get in their car. I think I've said this before, but I would love to know what happens to these people once they get the contestants to their destinations. How do they get back home?:confused3

I think people are willing to get into the cars because they see the cameras. I guess they assume it's for a TV show.

As far as getting back home, they know the area, so for them it isn't an issue. They can always hop in a cab or take a bus or train.

As I was watching last week, I thought to myself--"Hmmm, something is missing this season"
Then it hit me--the cute boy team!!
There is always a pair of cute brothers, or friends, or models or something! Nothing to look at this season!!

(except I am a Rob fan!!)

rob and Amber got this people psyched out...

they need to quit worrying about them nd just run the race...

If Kevin or Drew would have touched my stuff like that he would have more to worry about that ltitude sickness

My satalite is out...(I think the dish may be on the fritz...it's been out all afternoon)....please tell me someone is watching and can tell me what's happening...

Go ROMBER! I'm really glad they're doing well, but I was sad to see Drew and Kevin go so soon. It was obvious Drew did not have it in him this time. It's too bad.
