Amanda & Eric 03/03/10- WP/WHP/Sago Cay Centerpiece Ideas!

First of all, LOVE that you call Pat "Petrick" on the guest list:lmao: Just to put this out here...his name isn't really Petrick that is just a nickname stolen from a 3 year old:rotfl: I do love you guest list it sounds like the perfect number of people. We feel lucky to even be on it now!!:goodvibes I didn't realize he had a brother. One with three kids at that!:scared1:

I'm so glad you pick SBP!! That was my favorite definitely. I hope you get the 5pm ceremony time. It is a little silly. Ceremonies are like 20 or 30 minutes tops so there is no way it will be dark. In fact, it will be so romantic if the sun starts to go down a little during the ceremony if you ask me:love: If you have to move the date out a week though that doesn't seem like too big of a deal I guess.

I'm excited for the Dessert Party!!:cool1:

Lol I thought you would like that. I am really crossing my fingers for a 5 p.m. ceremony. 2:30 is just too early if we aren't having a traditional reception.

I am super excited about the Dessert Party too!

That's a great idea!! Thanks for sharing.

I am kinda bummed... I just heard back from my WC and she said because of daylight savings I can't book the 5 p.m. time slot at SBP:headache: She said it will be dark in the middle of my ceremony. So I have the 2:30 slot held. Yuck.

As far as "reception"/dinner I have no idea!! I kinda like Il Mulino at the Swan though. Here is what my WC sent:

We can offer a private dinner in some of our smaller reception locations like the Sonoma Room at the California Grill, a small ballroom at the BoardWalk or the Yacht Club... This is a dinner with no entertainment. The minimums would be based on the location and their food and beverage minimums. We can request these events at the 6 month mark.

I couldn't book the 5pm either. But I actually ended up liking the 2:30pm because we had a 5:30pm dinner and had from 9pm on to ourselves. It was nice!

What was your timeline like after the ceremony? It just seems like so much time in between.

I am looking to book at 2:30 ceremony. Actually, we originally said 5, but decided on 2:30, which is good because we're hoping for the same week as you and it looks like we wouldn't get the 5:00 slot!

We figure the ceremony will go until 3:00ish, then there's the cake cutting and mingling, etc. at SBP, which I figure will be another half hour. And we have Randy booked to do our photos. So I figure that will take about an hour - we want shots on the Boardwalk, beach, with our families, etc. So that would take us to about 4:30. We're hoping to make a 5 or 5:30 dinner reservation, which I think will work out nicely with the timing of everything else. It will give everyone a chance to enjoy everything without rushing or creating a ton of down time. We're hoping to do a DP as a welcome even the night before so we won't have to get to that...but I think we could if wanted to.

OOOHH I didn't think of it like that!! I forgot about the cake cutting, first dance stuff after the ceremony. We have Randy booked too so I guess 2:30 actually works out better if we have a Dessert party. Thanks for that!! I think if we did 5 then everything wouldn't be done till 6 that only leaves us an hour and a half/2 hours to get to dinner, eat and get back over to EPCOT.

You have cake at the SBP, dinner and then DP? Can't they just served the cake over in Epcot? I am sure there is a "transport" fee, but that makes more sense.
I had a hard time getting them to serve our cake in Palo rather than right after the ceremony, but I didn't want to eat cake then have dinner.

I think money wise, it is MUCH smarter to do the smaller wedding package..less stress!

Thank you both for this info. We have settled on the 2:30 timeline. I don't want to be rushed and 5 seemed to rush everything. If we DIDN'T have a dessert party it would be ok, but we are really looking forward to that.

Oh that is a great idea!! I would love to have the cake at the Dessert party rather than right after the ceremony. Once we sign our contract I will ask about it. I can't wait for July!!

After reading everyone's timelines for a 2:30 ceremony I am glad you went with that. You do not want to feel rushed on your wedding day. You are going all the way to Disney World for your wedding you might as well enjoy it and take your time:)

I also love the idea of having the cake during the DP instead of right after the ceremony. It definitely doesn't make sense to do it before dinner.

I was supposed to have a 2:30 ceremony at SBP but it rained so that didn't happen. :lmao: I think 2:30 would be a good time frame for you. Nothing worse than rushing around on your wedding day. Plus you can get some great pictures!

I know! I didn't think it would be so tight at 5 p.m. but it was. This way we don't rush through Dinner...god knows we like to eat!!

So is the ballroom you had it in the backup rain location?

Ain't that the truth!!:lmao::rotfl: My new bigger pant size is proof of that:guilty: Gotta eat better and work out more!!! It's getting bad. I'm about to go on vacation though...so it isn't going to get much better:rolleyes:

I'm having the same inner struggle with time as you twinnie! I thought that 5 would be the best option too but i'm starting to think 2:30 would be better.... and all these posts on your page are confirming my theory.

I dont want to feel rushed and with randy being able to take pictures after the ceremony i don't want to have to rush him either. Let me know what you decide!!

Just got all caught up & am subbing

I am so excited for you!!!!

I love the purples but I have to admit I'm a sucker for your original yellow & green idea.

For your flowers... you HAVE to add some lilacs & represent Rochester.:lmao:

I think adding some white lilacs into the dark purple would be amazing.

But thats just my opinion.

My mom & I have decided that I'm going to do a Disney escape wedding & then a big reception at home for everyone else. Now all I have to do is find a groom. :lmao:

I cant wait to continue reading & look forward to hearing all about this.

I'm so excited for you, everything is falling into place!!!! :cheer2:

Hey twinnie!! We decided on 2:30. Eric said he liked 5 better but when I broke the timeline down, 5 is too late. If you aren't having a dessert party, I think 5 is perfect.

I am starting to think of having dinner at Il Mulino. The restaurant looks gorgeous and they have a private room. I sent an email to see about pricing but haven't heard back yet!

I know, I love the Lilacs!! If they aren't in season yet I might do them in silk, but that dark purple is great. I loved the yellow too, but I like these deep dark colors a bit better.

So Eric got pricing today for the Golf course and I am so excited. I guess the other place gets really bad reviews, although it is pretty.

We can hold our reception in April and aren't held to the same minimums as the rest of the year! $1500 minimum and plates start at $15 per person (not including open bar). I think it's totally doable and am so excited. I am thinking of a golf themed cake. I told Eric that the reception can be his since I am getting my fairytale wedding!!

aww... I love the golf theme. Everything is really neat.. I"m so excited everything seems to be falling into place.

The first limo came at 1:30. The second at 2pm. Ceremony form 2:30-2:45 ish. Staged exit etc for pics. Cake cutting, toast, and first dance. Then everyone hung out on the tables, mingled, and we all ate cake.

While they still did that at about 3:45pm ish we went with Misty all around the Boardwalk til 4:45pm. The guests knew to go to the limo to be brought to GF for dinner. Since it was the Boardwalk, we figured even if they were all done eating cake etc there is so much to see on the BW they could entertain themsleves while we took pics. With such a small informal wedding of 15 guests we didn't feel we had to keep everyone "entertained" every second and we got many compliments on our wedding, how much fun it was, how pretty, and relaxing. We then hopped in the 5pm limo and went to the Grand, had a few more pics and that was it. It worked out perfectly.

I highly reccomend that you make sur eyou take the time to go around the BW with your photog. We got soo many great pics.

I know I still owe you pics. I promise I will get to them this weekend :)

I think i'm going to talk to DF about chaing the time to 2:30 but we'll see.

I love the golf themed reception! The cakes are adorable and the invitation verse is hilariouse! Loving everything!
