Yikes! So apparently my opinion is wrong. To SOME people, I think it's about change. To others, apparently, it's more than that.
Either way, I'm not sure what that makes those of us who like it?
All I was trying to say is that, to many of us, we haven't known it any other way. That being the case, it isn't tacky or stupid and doesn't ruin anything for us. Which, to me, suggests that MAYBE had we seen it in the past, and now see it different, or "changed", we would feel more strongly about it.
But seriously....
It appears on page 1 that some people were well aware that people would get defensive about this subject. Maybe that should have been my clue to avoid the thread altogether.

ETA: Thanks OP for posting... I read another thread mentioning the site you are likely referring to, and I find the discussion really interesting, in a calmer environment. I enjoyed reading other people's responses on this thread, too, as all of the OPINIONS on the matter had pretty sound reasoning, both for and against. For the most part.
