Do Disney Parks try to make the characters authentic like the movie characters?

My dad asked me at dinner this question and I hope anyone can answer for me and my father? Are Disney Parks characters supposed to be authentic like the movie characters. Because Dad asked me if there was a real Belle or a real Cinderella in Walt Disney World and my dad wanted to know how Walt Disney World designs the characters to be authentic and how they design the princess face characters to be like the movie princesses?

There are lots of former cast members that talk about the process if you do a quick search. Basically they cast people who look like the character. There are height, weight, and look requirements. My friends sister used to play one. Her contract was clear that she could not change her look and maintain her employment.

If you're playing a face character at Walt Disney World you're not allowed to change your look? I didn't even know that at all. So if you want to play Tinker Bell you have to look exactly like Tinker Bell when you audition? What about masked characters like Mickey Mouse and Goofy? Is there rules for character actors that play them too?

Yes even the masked characters have requirements cause they have to fit in the suits. I am almost 6' tall. I couldn't fit in the suits or meet the requirements of the ducks or mice for example. They come to around my shoulder

You audition for specific characters & I seem to recall the job description stating what "look" they wanted. And yes if you are a face character you have to maintain your look cause its your job. Using your example of Tinker Bell...you'll need to be a certain height & body type for starters. I assume a wig & makeup could help with little changes, but if you're 5'10" there's no changing that.
