Am I going to get us stranded at AK?

We are counting down the days! Woo HOOO!

But, after reading some reviews, I cancelled the PS at Boma and made reservations at RainForest Cafe for our picky group. Thinking I was being SOOO smart, I made the reservations for 5:00.

Now, we love RFC but we also recognize that the service there moves at a crawl on a fast day. How long will the bus run after AK closes? Should I call and move us up to like 4:00 or so, and call it a late lunch? There are going to be 10 of us, so I do have to actually PLAN these things.

Thanks!

The buses generally run for at least an hour after the park closes...but I do not know if a bus runs from AK to DTD.
Chip and Dale would be able to let you know that for sure, but you may have to take a bus to the AKL and then the DTD bus from there.

I am SO sorry! Our reservations are at the RFC at Animal Kingdom. I just don't want to spend the night there...LOL! If the bus only runs for an hour after AK closes, and our dinner service is really slow...see where I'm going? I want to sleep at BCV that night and not with Jumbo or Sheeba.

We ate there one time after the park closed. When you come out there is a nice Disney CM to help get you home. No problem. The next bus took us to our hotel.

Plus I am pretty sure the park to park buses run until the last park has closed. So in theory you could park at AK and hop to Epcot and then bus back to AK. In that case you could just go the other way.

If all else fails, you can always take a cab.

You won't get stranded. ;)

Buses between AK and MGM, Epcot and the TTC will run until 2:00 am.

Direct buses will get you back to your Disney resort from your RF dinner until 8:30 pm.

oops, sorry I was thinking about the RFC at DTD, forgot about the one at AK.

We have special RainForest buses that run after regular park service buses stop. These buses can help you get back to your resort. They run until 8:45. I'm sure that will give you plenty of time. :)

TTC, Epcot, and Studios buses will also continue to run.

Thank you all SO much! My grandkids love RainForest, so now I can relax and watch them enjoy themselves. And I did think about the cab as a last resort, but I guess with 10 of us we'd have to have three cabs.

Just so you know, Checker Cab (the official cab of Disney, run by Mears) has 7 passenger vans available. Not quite 10, but it might help.

I just got back here (we had massive storms last week, and I was the only one in the family with electrical power, so everybody came to my house) and that's very interesting about the 7-passenger vans/cabs. On Disney property, would we be allowed to hold the three kidlets in our laps? They will be 10, 7 and 20 months.

Not sure if the taxi company will allow the driver to have that many occupants of the vehicle. I tend to doubt it.

Don't worry, as everyone else has told you, you won't be stranded. In the worst case scenation Disney would send a bus just for your party to take you to your resort.

Oh, I had stopped worrying; I was just going into "info-garnering" mode.

Thanks again!
