Am I alone in disliking...

people coming to the table during dining to try and sell you pictures? I first noticed this at HDD, which is one of our favorites and for some reason it just rubbed me the wrong way. It seemed to interfere with the show for one thing. And now, with the changes to CRT dinner, it's been stated that pictures will be brought to the table during dinner (obviously in hopes of upselling beyond the "included" pics.) We have sent an e-mail to Guest Services politely voicing our dissapointment in the changes at CRT, but, of course, have received no response, nor expected one. Anyone else share this feeling or am I just overeacting? (Flame suit in place...go ahead)

Actually, we went to CRT recently and they simply brought us our included picture and walked away. There was no pressure at all.

No flames from me. I don't like the hard sell at meal time either. Why can't they bring them with the check or let you look at them before you leave.

I thought those changes didn't start until Feb.

At the Luau they used to snap your picture as you entered and try and sell you just this one for a price as you exited the show. Now they try and give you the hard sell as the show goes on and the price is very overpriced. We have not taken them up since they changed to this new way of pestering us with the over priced pictures...smjj

We went on Sunday morning, 11/6. We had our picture taken with Cinderella downstairs before breakfast. During our breakfast, a girl came over and handed us two copies of the same picture. She said that because they had just started the Cinderella's Royal Table picture program that the pics were complimentary. In the future they would be offered in a package similar to Chef Mickey's.

Very interesting, thanks for sharing that. :goodvibes

I usually tell them we don't want our pictures taken as it avoids their huge sales pitch. They don't like it at first but they usually leave us alone and let us enjoy ourselves.

No flaming from me.. I do not like any pressure when I am on vacation..

One other thing I do not like, since we are on the subject, is feeling pressure to purchase wine, exotic drinks etc, when we do not drink....and I have had waitresses give us a look because we say we do not drink. I guess they think the more you drink, the higher the check, the bigger the tip....I always tip well as my Mom was a waitress my whole life, but I hate feeling that I have to make excuses as to why I do not want to purchase alcohol when we are out to dinner in a nice restaurant... I really dislike that..

Works the same at CRT. You can bypass the Cinderella picture however, Cindy does not walk around the restaurant anymore so if you want your pic with her, you have to get it downstairs where the FGM used to hang out. You can use your own camera of course and get your own pics with Cindy.

There was no pressure at all when they brought the pictures to us. But I don't think that they were selling packages of any kind yet. The price has not gone up yet but the picture taking has started so the people that are going soon will get the pictures included at the current price.

We also just say we do not care to have our picture taken and have never had a problem.

I detest this practice! I once got a hard-sell at Donald's Breakfastosaurus. I now refuse to have the picture taken, which they are usually fine with, but sometimes I get an, "Oh, come on! Blah, blah..."

I also detest the AK cashiers always asking for a dollar. Are they still doing that? I quit shopping there because of it.

All so cheesy!
:flower:

I don't like it either. They really pushed it at Donald's last time we were there.

Okay so they take my picture and than print off a whole package of pictures of my family and try to sell them to me. They bring the WHOLE package to my table while I am eating my 18.00 meal to show me. I tell them "no thanks the price is a bit much".
What are they going to do with my Families pictures? Trash them. What a waste.
Maybe if they didn't print them up unless you really wanted them than they could lower the price of the package to begin with. Maybe more people would purchase them.

What do I know I am just a customer. :confused3

We always give a firm/yet friendly no thank you to the picture.

I copy your post because I wanted to point out that I liked your shirt. Also as long as we are on the Peta topic and you have eaten at Cinderella's Castle can you tell me what is Vegan at Cinderell'as Breakfast and Lunch.

Anyways from what I heard starting Feb 1st pictures will be included in the package. For Lunch you get like 6 pictures one of the Castle I think and maybe one with Cindy or whatever. Tax and Tip and the meal Price is all included and it all comes to $40.07 for Lunch starting Feb 1st. As for Dinner and Breakfast I am not sure.

I allready purchased my Lunch at Cinderella's Castle for April the 29th. I booked a Breakfast at Cinderella's Castle for this Jan so I am not sure how they do the pictures here or at any of the other eating places ?

You are not alone is disliking it, I don't like it either. But I will say this, all we had to do is say "no thanks" and they moved on.

We went on Saturday the 12th and did not get our pictures for free. I had to pay $30 for it. It is a really cute picture of DD though. Ours was in a big folder with a picture of the castle on the left side and a picture of DD and Cindy on the right. It also came with 4 smaller pictures. I also got suckered into the $30 pic at the Princess Storybook breakfast. Darn DD for looking so cute

I don't like it either, we simply decline having the photo taken to begin with ususally. I wish instead that they would give you a number at the time the photo is taken, and let you go to a booth or stand at your liesure to look at them and decide to purchase or not. It also bothers me that they waste so much paper/chemicals printing packages up that they end up just throwing out.

Hmmm, I've never felt pressured to purchase alcohol at WDW. If you feel pressured there, do'nt ever take a crusie on Royal Carbbean--they were relenetless! :earseek:

FYI, that picture is not the author of the post. That is Goran Visnjic. He plays Dr. Luka Kovac on ER. Isn't he pretty?? :) :) :) Here's a link:
