We've stayed at the Poly once and stayed In a building close to transportation. Is there a room or building I should be requesting? We have standard rooms. Thanks!

Here is a the resort map... you can see Rapa Nui is very close to the TTC. :)

It's been quite a long time since we haven't stayed CL, but I've always found the lobby concierge to be very helpful and polite. :) Just remember that if you call for help from your in-room phone that won't be a person who is actually in the lobby of your hotel, so if you need something special it is best to physically go down and talk to them face to face. ::yes::

I hope to use the IPO after we get there. When we went to 2003, we were told we could not because that was CL only, but we were Platinum, but it did not matter because CL guests got to use the IPOs...it was kinda confusing. Platinum plan gets to use the IPO to book reservations etc before the trip just like CL, but does not stay in the CL rooms unless they book CL rooms.

The last time we went we were upgraded to CL so we had no problem. This time around, I asked the IPO if we would still have access to them and they assured me we would and that Platinum plan does have the IPO help, even after arrival, but after the first trip when we were turned down and had some major issues...I'm a bit concerned!

If we need to make changes to the plan we won't have the right help if we do not have access to the IPO staff. Last time the fireworks cruise was rained out, and the CL CM were able to get us on another boat the next night. (Platinum plan guests share boats, so it is not just a regular 'reserve a boat' setup.)

When we went in 2003, we had no one to help us when stuff was cancelled, to help us reschedule. Everyone just kept saying they did not know or could not help...very politely. We never did get turndown service back in 2003, was told that was for CL only and we were not CL (But it was a platinum plan perk..again, confusing!)

I just hope everything goes smooth. We have a lot of things scheduled (many tours, boats, reserved fireworks viewing, Cirque, fantasmic seating, restaurants etc) and it was all because of the fantastic IPO!

Thank you for your advice. I just hope nothing cancels! (We had bad weather last trip!)

And we just stayed there in June and it's a hassle too bc only so many people can fit on a boat and they go soooo slow so you sometimes waited 20-30 min to get on and then its another 20 min boat ride and them if they see lightning...oy!

LOL! That is so true. I think we will avoid DTD altogether this next trip.

Wow !! Just checked in today after 4 nights at BC, Love it already!! Got all my requests: Samoa, 1st floor facing pool. It's fantastic. Walked right out if sliding doors straight to the pool!!

:yay: Have a magical stay! You are doing the opposite of our split in December Poly/BC. :goodvibes:

Come join us! :cool1:

:wave2: Erika! So excited for you - we'll be following along!

Just booked Poly for the 2014 Princess Half Marathon at a seriously crazy rack rate. Right now, we're GV and we do enjoy GV (especially when we're in Samoa!) But we're hoping for winter discounts to bring those peak season rates down, and then we'll re-evaluate CL. We planned to stay CL at Poly earlier this year, but we were there in January during the renovations, so hope the discounts come through for February 2014!

Really looking forward to your reviews of the renovated rooms and new CL!

Samoa is great! It will be interesting to see what kinds of discounts are offered in 2014, I admit the rack rates are discouraging. I checked several resorts for our spring break in March and they are all astronomical. We are actually thinking we might rent an RV and stay at Fort Wilderness that week. At least that's what my husband and kids want to do. Can you imagine me in an RV??? :lmao: That might go down as the most hilarious trip report EVER! :rotfl2:

Thank you so much for sharing the pictures. The rooms are lovely. Congrats on your upgrade!

Just upgraded to CL so excited!!! We were grateful to be staying Poly again but DH was pining away for CL again!

Have you thought about renting DVC points? It is usually a good deal - depending on the time of year you go.

With the Hawaii building having been refurbed does the CL look any different? Anyone have any pics?

Also anyone heard of the Poly taking part of this magicband test in Aug or Sept?

It doesn't really look much different they just like got some new chairs or something minor like that.

How do the new rooms look in person? The pics I've seen, I'm not completely sold on. Beds don't look as tropical, and the bathrooms seem to be lacking that tiki feel as well.

I feel the complete opposite (although I haven't seen them in person.) I felt like the old décor was very "The Brady's Go to Hawaii." This new décor is much more contemporary and understated tropical. Like Tropi-Chic! :rotfl2:

I loved the old decor. I'm not a big "contemporary" style person. Wondering if I should switch over to the GF. Love those rooms.

OMgosh! I'm tall!! I'm 5'1".:woohoo:
I'm 5'1" too! Or as I like to say "vertically challenged!"

:rotfl: You nailed the description of the old decor! I didn't mind it, but that's exactly it! Looking forward to checking out the tropi-chic description in 7 days. 1 WEEK!!! :faint:
