Were you actually in 1524? I was, we departed Sat, 8-7-2010. If not what room number were you in? That's what I found strange, The grounds were constantly being upgraded while we visited, It really seems like someone would complain.

Not to be a downer, but did anyone else (who was just recently at the Poly) notice how much trash was in the sand on the beach by the pool?

Thanks...... do you recall if the individual containers were half and half, or some non-dairy creamer? We don't usually use anything flavored, but some of the non-dairy creamers aren't all that good.

Hi all,

Is it possible to store a 15" laptop in the room safes? It looks like I will have to bring mine I'd rather not have to, but I won't totally be able to escape the real world during our stay at the Poly.

I'm curious about this also, because we weren't able to put our laptop in the room safe at AKL last year. We ended up locking it in one of our suitcases and put the suitcase in closet.

No problem! THe safe it quite large, actually. We had plenty of room for our laptop--same size, 15". Also had my large camera lens, wallets, and a few other small items in there.

Thanks for info. Since we're not big fans of Coffee-mate, it looks like we need to add half and half to our grocery stop list.

Yeah alittle bit! I know I lost a beautiful silver owl earring while laying on hammock with hubby over by the volleyball net!! I went to look for it next day and maintenance workers were removing that palm tree I mentioned, I was hoping a kid would find it in the sand and think it was a buried treasure.

Just a quick question (sorry if this has already been asked, but couldn't readily find the answer) ... Can you still use online check-in if you are staying club/concierge level?

That would be soooo funny if they did, it's rather large, but with all the racking the beach and so forth, someone has found it or made it unrecognizable by now. That would be neat though. I kind of feel like a part of me is still there...

Speaking of your child having a knack for finding things, I did to on this trip. Five dollars on a bush over by the Neverland Club (have them check it out, also) and in another bush not far from the other one, I found a WDW bag with a box in it with a silver mickey head beer bottle opener, I mean't to return it the next day but I fiqured it could have been there a while and no one would probably claim it anyway, so I kept it, I'm such a theft.. I did look to see if the receipt said a name like for a charge, and then I would have asked front desk, but it was a cash sale... So I fiqured they would just keep it, if I didn't. If anyone really did lose it here let me know I will gladly return it.

Thanks for replying! I've seen pics of the safes and they look quite large, but I figured I'd ask just to be on the "safe" side. LOL, pun intended.

I didn't notice any trash at all. We were there 7/29-8/5.

You could but CL CM'S asks that if you want to check in with them in the Hawaii building you do not check in online, If you do online check in, you have to check in at the GCH.

I didn't notice any trash at all. We were there 7/29-8/5.

It wasn't big blowing trash, it was little pieces of plastic and LOTS of cigarette butts shoved half way into the sand. LOTS of plastic straws etc... that kind of thing... It was right up by the pool and all the chairs, maybe down by the beach it was a bit better.

I have to laugh everytime they ask if we are celebrating anything because I very jokingly promised my 3 yr old that we'd take her to Disney if she went pee-pee in the potty. The first time she did it, she ran around the house yelling "I'm going to Disney World!". Not sure that Disney has a category for that...personal achievement?

We'll be staying in the club level because we have 5 kids and Disney is very picky about how many people you crowd into a space.

Last time we went to Disney I was pg with #5...found out I'm pg last Sunday. Some day we are going to Disney and I'm going to be able to ride a roller coaster! Maybe this is my excuse for why my dh has to take me back in a few years.

I'm excited to be at the Poly. We stayed at GF last time and would ride the monorail through the Poly. Looked like fun.

Off to read some more tips.

Wooohoo! Congrats on the upcoming trip and your impending bundle. I had to laugh though, that exactly what happened to us 3x in a row and my DH said no more planning Disney trips because every time we did I would get pg. Needless to say we took quite a long break from planning trips and finally decided to get back into our vacation routine.

As nerdy as I sound... I am so excited that tomorrow I can say I AM GOING TO DISNEY THIS WEEK! Yay! It is going to be a long few days that will hopefully go by fast. I have plenty to do with all of the packing, pre-trip cleaning ( I LOVE to come home to a clean house so I can relax and only have a load of laundry to do from the trip), and I need to get all the back to school stuff ready since the first day of school is the day after we get home, eek!
I am soooo excited to see the Poly since I have never been there before! Looking forward to soaking it all in and a big thanks to everyone here who helped to prepare me so well!

Yes! We were in 1524! We checked IN on 8/7. Too funny.
