Looks like we're checking in the same day! :goodvibes

Just got our itinerary and welcome letter from the Poly IPO..... :thumbsup2 we check in next Sunday (8/22) and are MORE than ready for a vacation!!

Just an off the wall question...... does anyone know if the Poly Concierge Lounge has the small individual containers of coffee creamer, or half and half? We've stayed Poly CL twice, but neither of us can remember. Since we're going to be there for 8 days, we're planning to bring our favorite coffee and filters from home, to make in the small pot, and we both like cream in our coffee. If not, we will pick up some when we make our usual grocery stop on the way to the resort. Thanks........

The had individual creamers last year when we went in Sept. They had regular, hazelnut, french vanilla and irish creme.

Just got back last night. They had a dispenser of half and half in the mornings, but individual containers out the rest of the day. They only had plain -- no flavored from what I saw.

BTW, Logpey, were you in #1524? We just returned from there and also had our own duck pond off our patio. I admit I was also surprised because the grounds were otherwise so meticulous, but my DDs loved the visitors it brought!

Thanks...... do you recall if the individual containers were half and half, or some non-dairy creamer? We don't usually use anything flavored, but some of the non-dairy creamers aren't all that good.

I have been busy and last night I finally had some time to catch up on the boards. Well, after reading this thread late last night, I chatted with DH this morning, and check out my signature... we are headed back to the Poly next summer! I just booked this afternoon and am thrilled to say we are staying at the Poly again.

MY DH has alot of sinus problems poor thing but his snoring doesnt bother me as bad as the TEETH grinding! He only does it when he is stressed which he is right now.. Kept me up all the night before last! I would lay my hand on the side of his face and he would stop until I moved my hand! Its a horrible sound! He really needs this vacation! LOL
I do this--get a night guard to avoid breaking a tooth! I got mine from the dentist but insurance covered it. They also sell them at WalMart and drug stores. The grinding causes awful headaches and my nightguard is a life-saver!
I've heard you can get a Dole Whip at Captain Cooks. Can you also get just plain vanilla or chocolate ice cream? Thanks.
I think you can get vanilla or swirl or the pineapple. No chocolate that I noticed....

Snore-monster's wife here (I think I'll coerce him into getting a sleep study eventually): Thanks to all for the info regarding the thermostat/fan! :thumbsup2 Especially love the tip about tying the balloon on to keep it from turning off. I didn't realize they've got ceiling fans -- that's a nice bonus. :goodvibes

YAY! I wish my trip was that close!

p.s. I live very close to you (an hour away in MD, we shop in Altoona all the time!)

Which longhouse are you planning to request? :cool1:

Hi Tess, thanks for the info. Actually, I'm not sure which longhouse to request yet. I booked a tpv room, so I've been reading on tikiman's site about that. I keep flip-flopping about switching to a lv or gv, but I'm afraid we wouldn't get the longhouse we would want. Since I've never stayed at the Poly, I just don't know what to expect. I know we really want to see the fireworks and EWP from our room, as well as a castle view because it just seems so magical to me:cloud9: But I also don't want to be terribly far from the GCH or the pool.

Which longhouse would you suggest for a tpv? If the discounts for rooms come into play, we may upgrade to club level and then I would know which longhouse we'd be in!

Hi all,

Is it possible to store a 15" laptop in the room safes? It looks like I will have to bring mine :( I'd rather not have to, but I won't totally be able to escape the real world during our stay at the Poly.

TIA! :hippie:

Tuvalu and Tahiti are probably the best longhouses for TPV rooms. Honestly, neither of them is that far from the GCH. Tuvalu would be closer than Tahiti but at most, any longhouse is a 5 minute walk from the GCH.

Were you actually in 1524? I was, we departed Sat, 8-7-2010. If not what room number were you in? That's what I found strange, The grounds were constantly being upgraded while we visited, It really seems like someone would complain. ;)

I'm curious about this also, because we weren't able to put our laptop in the room safe at AKL last year. We ended up locking it in one of our suitcases and put the suitcase in closet.

:dance3: Single digit dance today!!!! :dance3:
I also got a new Droid 2 (my other phone was 7 years old! ) so I can check in and answer questions while I am there for anyone that has them! :cool1: I downloaded the ridehopper app (gives wait times for rides at any theme park) so I'm hoping to report on the accuracy of that as well. :thumbsup2
