All star sports resort food court closed for rehab!!

What a ridiculous thing to say - insensitive on several levels.

For the purpose of this conversation I'll keep it to the one - not only will the Sports guests be inconvenienced by having no food court, the Music guests will as well by having their food court handling the overload. The values have already gotten well overpriced for what they are; the small discount they are offering for taking away one of the very few amenities these resorts offer is honestly laughable.

Someone refresh me please - I don't recall ever reading of any of the moderates food courts being down for refurb - ever.

There's no good time for a refurb when you're open 365 days a year. People are aware of it far enough in advance to adjust their plans if they are unhappy or alternatives are being offered.

I love All Star Sports, last year I am pretty good at keeping up with refurbs the main pool was down I had not been aware which is unlike me and it was a bummer since we had a preferred room, we rarely eat at the food court I guess it all depends on the family's preference but I would probably stay at another value unless you have no use for the food court. They are having a grab and go and for other posters that are rude and holier than thou when people are just trying to figure things out is unfortunate. I am upset there are going to be so many shut down attractions/rides when I am there in August but there are plenty of other things to do it's just a lot for what I am used to.

Not a moderate, but I was at the Poly when they were redoing their quick service. Would you honestly rather they just shut down the whole resort? As if that wouldn't have a negative affect on the other 2 all stars.

Also, I've been at a moderate when they have shut down the pool slide without notice. And was told by the resort manager when I was asked why they were not informing guests of the closure, that Disney doesn't have to inform guests of any closures. He even stated the could close down the restaurants without notice if need be.

I think it is a step in the right direction that Disney is notifying guests of any closures at the resorts ahead of time. At least people can decide if they still want to stay or not.

Was the letter just a notification or did they offer any solutions if the food courts being closed was inconvenient?

They are offering transportation to the other All Star resorts food courts. I called and there was no offer for any additional perks (room upgrade, extra discount, free mug, change resort).

How far is the walk from Sports to Music? Is it sidewalks, pathways?
Thanks!

About a 1/2 mile and Yes there are sidewalks along with road and parking lots you can walk over by, or you can take the food court shuttle bus.:banana::banana:

They'll provide a grab and go, and transportation to the other All Stars resorts which will have operational food courts. They are not going to add any extras like free upgrades to another resort. they certainly won't offer free upgrades to Music guests who don't like the fact that their food court might be more crowded than it otherwise would. It's going to be up to the guest if they feel they'd like to stay elsewhere.

There has been a lot of refurbishing of the quick service in deluxe resorts lately - Polynesian, GF, Boardwalk - that had these places shut down entirely.
