All Star Music FAQ thread and tips

DDand I just returned from a week long stay at ASmu. We loved every minute of it!

We arrived on 8/12 at 7am - after a redeye flight from CA. Much to my great surprise our room was ready! YEAH!!! We were able to dump our belongings and rest a bit before we hit the parks. This was definately unexpected.

We enjoyed the activities by the pool and even won a disney trivia game.

The food court served our needs when we ate there - which was a couple of times.

We did not feel the resort was crowded nor was the food court. Everyone we encoutered there, staff and guests, were in great disney spirits.

We had a great time with the buses and only had to wait more than a few minutes on two occasions. For the most part we would walk out to the bus stop and our bus would arrive shortly after we got in line.

This was our second stay there and we will definately go back again!

So glad to see this! We leave Monday for a week long stay. I am so very excited! I hope our experience is as good as yours! This is our first trip to Disney ever!:wizard:

We arrive on Tuesday...even though my ticker has expired today.... I changed my dates in June but didn't want to start my ticker back at the left again :lmao: So I'll be tickerless today and tomorrow.

On to packing. :yay:

Anyone know what the current movie schedule is? ASMu is DD's favorite. She made me pass up a free upgrade to Saratoga Springs a few years back and after finally convincing her to try a Mod (Coronado Springs) she made me promise we wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Asmu became my kids favorite when we discovered the family suites:worship:. We are a family of 5 and this is preferable to 2 rooms at movies for uspopcorn::....
The kids have played some of the poolside games, we like the movies at nightpopcorn::, and the poolside bar:goodvibes. Just right for us.

We will be at this resort for just one night, prior to our Dream cruise, next week:woohoo:. We are staying in a waaaay upgraded stateroom, but our resort is the ASMU cause the kids consider it "home." :thumbsup2 LOL

I have almost convinced them to try out the new Animation Resort, next year. We'll see.:confused3

We just arrived home from 12 days at ASMu....the movie sched changes every month. I saw the Sept. list very late last night. I know that 3 nights in a row it's the Toy Story trilogy. Beyond that I can't remember.

All the resorts got new mugs quite a while ago. The new mugs arrived long before the trial at ASSp. The mugs are all the same the minor different with the ASSp mugs are that the handles are different colours than all the other resorts.

Do a search and you will easily find pics.

We're booked at ASMu (for the first time) in late January. Can anyone tell me if the resort will be taken over by the tour groups and/or cheerleaders? I know there are tons of them in the parks at that time of year, but the only value resort we've ever stayed at is Pop, and we didn't see any of them there. Last year we stayed at CBR and there were some cheerleaders, but they were across the lake from us so we didn't encounter them much. We did hear them practicing fairly early in the morning, on our way to refill our mugs before hitting the parks for the day. I'd hate to be in the same building or sharing a courtyard with them. :headache:

I have nothing against tour groups or cheerleaders, but I need to get some sleep on vacation or I'll be really crabby, lol. ;)

Also, do the pool activities and movies run in the winter months? Or is that only in warmer weather? TIA :goodvibes

I've stayed there every Jan for the past 3 years for marathon weekend and into the following week. This past year was the first time I noticed any tour groups while I was there. Not saying there were none previous years, just didn't really notice them. This group was from Brazil and was really rowdy. Teen girls in groups walking around the resort making up songs, cheering, etc. It was all during the day hours so I really didn't get to bothered by it. But it was noticeable.

Yes the pool activities run during the winter months. Movies too. :)

Thank you! If they're rowdy during the day it won't bother me much. As long as they're quiet from 11pm - 7am, lol. :cloud9:

I booked myself a preferred room over Mother's Day weekend in 2012. I'm looking forward to checking out ASMu.

I've stayed at ASMo many, many years ago and did enjoy it.

Now when my husband asks what I want for Mother's Day, I'll say another solo trip to Disney. And hopefully, he'll say sure so I won't have to cancel. :rotfl:

Has anyone stayed here during the holidays before? We will be staying here for 5 nights in December. Our first stay at All Stars Music and our first time to visit WDW during Christmas season!

we were there in early dec 07, with a ton of pop warner teams. loud, rude, loud, noisy, swearing. called front desk at nmidnight, 1 am. no lukc.
that was the year 2 teams were kicked out in the middle of the night for fighting.
