All Star Movies - Why the bad reviews?

I loved my first stay at Movies about 7 years ago. I liked the fact that it was quieter and more compact than POP. The kids water area was great and the CMs were friendly and Guest service never have the long lines that I have encountered at POP.

DH and I stayed there last year. the carpet was worn (it almost looked as though that one spot had been flooded). Other than that it was clean and comfortable. Dh still prefers POP.

We have never had any problems with the buses there.

I love Movies. We've stayed at several properties and I've never had a 'dirty room.'

I honestly take most reviews with a grain of salt. The things I've seen some people complain about :rotfl: I'm sure occasionally there is a room that's not up to snuff, but as a whole, I wouldn't be concerned.

I will say though that I don't go in analyzing the snot out of my room either!

:thumbsup2 We also love movies, and I have found that on tripadvisor, the things people complain about are insane at ANY resort. We are trying CSR this year, and I Was a little worried because of reviews, but then as I read the negatives, I had to almost laugh. I love when people complain about the buses at all stars saying that they share buses. We have stayed MANY times and they only share at off times and they are all in a row. I also never have had a dirty room anywhere on property. I would not hesitate to book ASMO at all, it's our favorite value.

We stayed at ASM a couple of years ago. It was our first time at a value resort. Our previous visits were all at POR. We found that our rooms were clean and mouse keeping did great job. The kids loved the theming. Our rooms were close to the food court and bus queue. My only recommendation would be to request a room not near a designated smoking area. We had to walk through people smoking to get to our room. Also request to be on the first floor. It's kind of hard to carry a sleeping 8yr old up 3 flights of stairs.

We've stayed at the ASMo once and thought it was great for what it was. No issues with cleanliness of the rooms. We stayed in the Toy Story section and it was great.

We stayed at All-Star Movies last September in the Mighty Ducks bldg. Room was clean (and I'm picky about that), housekeeping was good, A/C was nice and strong, and the room was quiet - couldn't even tell anyone else was staying in our bldg. The only bugs we ever saw were dead love-bugs here and there OUTSIDE on walkways - it was love-bug season so it was expected.

The food court was a bit "messy" at times, but All-Star Sports food court next door was being renovated during our stay, so we had some overflow from them. No complaints here. If Free Dining was being offered at Movies this Fall, we'd be staying there again next month (booked Music instead). It was where we stayed our first visit in 1999 and holds a special place in our hearts!

I'm so happy to hear the positive reviews. We actually had some cleanliness issues when we stayed at Wilderness Lodge. Mouse-keeping took care of it right away. So, if a love-bug (not sure what this is) flies/crawls in so be it. As long as the rest of the place is clean I'm good. :)
