All-Star Distance question

In late September I'm staying solo at AS Music. Though I'm HOPING for a room in Calypso (I didn't book preferred, just crossing my fingers) I'm looking at the map and see that some of the rock buildings look equi-distant from the main building at AS Sports as AS Music. Is that true? And then wouldn't it make sense for me to go to AS Sports main building to get on the bus since it's more likely I'd get a seat? Or am I just crazy?

Also, since the only bus stop is by the main building I'm just noting that it seems that the refillable mugs seem like an even better value at the moderates, since it's just so convenient to get some coffee before I head out.

Don't worry. The Rock area isn't that far away from the main building. We were in the Country area and we had a 5 min. walk to the main bulding / bus stop.
No need to walk to the AS Sports IMO

I personally love sports and would prefer this resort, ESPECIALLY if your taking the bus. Sports is always the 1st to get picked up and dropped off. But if you have more patience than i do with buses, then your fine at the other two resorts. :lmao:

If you want a room near the front, you really do need to book a preferred room. Especially at the Music, as many of the preferred rooms were turned into Family Suites, so there are fewer preferred rooms to begin with. I highly doubt you will just be bumped up into one.

Twice now I have booked preferred at the Music, only to be told at check in that those rooms were overbooked, and then placed back in the Broadway section. If you want to be close to the front, I would suggest booking a preferred room at the Sports. It seems to be the least popular of the All Star Resorts (due to theming I'm guessing) so you should have better odds of your room being close to the front.

I've stayed at ASMu twice and did not make a room request. Both times we were in the Country section. I actually liked this because it was near the back (quieter) and near the piano pool (usually quieter than the main pool).

I agree, that if you are same distance from the ASSp main building, just get on the bus there.

The beauty of being the middle resort is, you can hop on any of the buses at the end of a busy day at the parks and head home. We've been in the MK bus line where they have a bus for each of the three resorts. The ASMu bus line was huge, whereby the ASMo was short and ... here comes another ASMo bus!!! So we got on that and saved a 45 wait!!

If you don't mind walking (you've just left a WDW park, so what's a little more) - it opens up some great options for getting back "home".
