Don't you mean, Kool....

Holy Pooh, eleven pages!
Looks like any and all rooms at Disney are now going to be "smoking optional."
Oh well.![]()
Another red herring that is irrelevant in the context of WDW's smoking policy. How would this justify sticking nonsmokers with the costs associated with smoking? If smokers want smoking facilities, they should be happy to pay any extra costs, including increased property insurance premiums.
Just as people w/ no children should get a tax break and not have to pay for schools. I don't see too much of a differance. If my grandparents aren't going to be around to 'reap' the benefits of a good school system why should they pay?
Yes but it ISN'T thier balcony it is Disney's balcony that the guest is using for the week or whatever the length and just like going to somones house you abide by the OWNERS rules and this owner is Disney I am soooo happy they are finally going smoke free this is a banner day. This is also posted in teh business journel in Florida I will have to find the link and post it.
I personally think this was the smart move. For both health reasons, and maintenance fee reasons.
For people who think this new non-smoking initiative is a bad thing, just be glad that you don't live in one particular township in New Jersey. Forgot the name of it, but the town council voted to ban smoking in any vehicle (private vehicles included) if any minor was in that car. So, if you went to the supermarket with your kids and were caught smoking in your own car, you would be penalized.
I have never had an issue smoking outside on a friend's balcony. I always ask.
Well your friends are nice anyone who smokes and visits our house has to go out to the sidewalk to smoke they are not able to smoke within 30 feet of our home. Not my parents or our friends no one.
I don't think it's fair that others should be expected to "step inside" to avoid smoke from someone else.
Again, tobacco is legal to purchase, possess and use. Does it make sense to have a product that is legally available, then put so many widespread restrictions upon where it can be used? Name another product that has similar restrictions that can also cause severe damage to other folks by its use...alcohol..nope you can drink almost anywhere on Disney property, and it can affect your neighbors, especially if you then decide to drive, which is legal until you reach the blood level limit in your state.
Disney doesn't police their rooms to the point of not allowing an addict to illegally use syringes of narcotics...they will even provide a needle disposal kit, no questions asked, they will assume the person is an insulin diabetic. So basically, smokers have less rights in their room than illegal drug addicts.
And remember, they sell cigs at Disney.
The thing is, lots of our fathers are still in it, and they are lifelong smokers!!!! They are not going to be able to drop a 65 year habit just because of the whims of modern society, and all the self-righteous nonsmokers out there who whine if a whiff of smoke passes their way on a balcony.
This prevents me from taking my 80 year old dad on vacation with us, and it makes me resentful as all get out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I HATE THIS POLICY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So be happy, all you people. You are denying me a vacation with my dad, who most likely doesn't have long to live. (Severe health issues.)[/QUOTE]
ok-I am sorry your father won't be able to travel because he can't smoke in the room....how is it us (the non-smokers) who are denying you a vacation with your dad? It sounds like he is denying it or you are-because you can always vacation somewhere with with a more lenient smoking policy if vacationing together is that important.![]()

I bought DVC. I have an investment there. I expect them to keep their end of the bargain, which included a few smoking rooms.
My dad would like to quit. He's never been able to. He's tried several times. And at 80, and at the end of his life, he's not going to stop now, just to the MOB (ie. people who think it's fine to make smokers second class citizens) happy.
Guess you won't be inviting me over for diner.![]()
