All Fridges To Be Removed From Resort Hotels!

Not sure if they have been replaced yet, but it is working.

We stayed at POFQ from the 5th - 13th July and had a fridge which was working. :)

We are staying (2 families) at the AoA in August so I just called the resort.

My family is staying in a Nemo suite, and the other family in a Little Mermaid room.

I've read that the Suites are OK, but nothing concerning the Little Mermaid rooms so I wanted to double check

CM Delilah said that there are NO issues with the refrigerators at the Art of Animation. I asked her to confirm that the LM rooms are OK and she said they were.

So either those are non-recall units since the resort is so new, or they replaced them quickly..again perhaps because the resort is so new with high demand.

Just wanted to toss out what I heard...

have a great vacation.:goodvibes

Correct but all of the "official" word that I have seen only mentioned the family suites as being OK. I wanted to make sure out travel companions were also OK in the LM rooms.

Hawaii building at the Poly has working fridges - but I did see a vehicle going around the grounds with a load of fridges on the back of it (not sure whether that is for the refurbishment going on or replacement of fridges in the rooms).

In the Beach Club right now. We had to change rooms yesterday and fridge
Not working in either room! There is a letter stuck on the fridge explaining that all fridges are being replaced but doesnt say by when. Quite disappointed though the weather is kind of rubbish and not that sunny and hot so not as bad as it would normally be.

This is a bit naughty, the hottest time of the year too. Like a lot of you the fridge is a biggy for us, drinks snack etc. Why not just swap them one at a time. They are going to end up with some big headaches if there are fridges missing, it says there will be one and I will be less than impressed if there isn't.

It's not like Disney planned for this to happen. Ultimately if a fire was caused by a problem in one of the fridges then disconnecting all of them is the best option. Yes it's extremely annoying and particularly poor timing but I'm sure they are trying to resolve it as quick as they can.

It can't be a quick or easy process to order, take delivery and install the thousands of fridges required.

On the assumption that most of the fridges have been in place a few years, I would have thought it was pretty much an isolated incident. There isn't going to be 3000 fridges suddenly burst into flames or take over the hotel.

It seems a little drastic to replace all the fridges due to one catching fire.

Their H&SE is probably the same over the top system as ours now. :rotfl2:

I agree it's unlikely, but would rather they didn't take a risk. I hope we have a fridge when we go in September but if we don't I'll deal with it and just be grateful not to be at risk of a fire in my room!

Last week the Pop room in the 70's were working, so I assume that they have been replaced being they were not unplugged.

This week at AKL we had no fridge - Jambo House - same for every room on our corridor (pool view).

There is a thread that's been started on the resort board where guests who are there or have just come back keeping a log of the status at the various resorts. It has only been running about a week so it is not conclusive but it may be worth keeping an eye on if you're leaving soon
