Borrowing from this post. We rented from
Alamo in Miami using my husband's Insiders account. Went online today to do online check-in and I don't see anywhere that lists a free second driver. When completing the check in, there was an option to pay $9.99 to add an additional driver. It isn't worth paying to list me as a driver but we would do so if it is free. Any thoughts?
You cannot add an additional driver online. You can do it at the kiosk, the counter or at the exit booth. All drivers on the contract must be present and present a valid driver's license.
From the Alamo site, listed on the face of the reservation under the tab: Rental Policies. Additional Driver
· All additional drivers must meet all rental requirements.
· Additional drivers must appear at the rental counter with the primary renter.
· Additional drivers must sign the rental agreement.
· An additional daily fee may apply for any Additional Drivers.
The additional driver can only be added to the contract at the pick up location.
Note: State law in California, Illinois, Missouri, Nevada, Oregon, and Wisconsin allow the spouse to be an automatic authorized driver as long as renter requirements are met.
Under the terms and conditions: See # 2.
