We arrive for the Disney portion of our vacation three months from today.

So wish it was today after this horrendous winter we have had.

I have my fingers and toes crossed that the storm does not materialize. I have heard some really dire warnings though (up to 30" and blizzard like conditions). Thank goodness I can work from home (an accountant so this is very busy time of year). DH can work from home. I will be ready for it.

Yep. We are actually the first exit in the south side of the Raritan Tolls if you are on the Parkway.

Just dropping in to say hello.

We first visited AKL in 2006 when we were staying at ASMo and had dinner reservations at Boma. I fell in love with the place straight away (AK has always been my favourite park), and we looked into spending a couple of nights there before we left, but couldn't change our flights.

We ended up staying there for our honeymoon in 2008 (flew in from Vegas, where we got married). Such a magnificent view across the savanna.

I took my mum and DD for a visit when we were at WDW in 2011 - I was so happy to be back, even just for a few hours.

We are staying at POFQ and GF this summer, but I really hope to fit in a quick visit to show DD (who was only little last time) and DS my happy place!!

Can't wait to stay there again in the future (hopefully!!)

My family & I will be staying here June 24th - July 2nd. Cant wait. I have been to Disney dozens of times but have never been to the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Very excited.

Dropping in to say hey ...

My family will be down at the AKL in middle May 2014 and are really looking forward to the Savannah view and the general vibe of the place. Like many others, we really fell for the place on a previous visit to the World while eating at Jiko. I loved the restaurant sure, but the whole hotel was what really caught my fancy.

We're only staying at GF for one night anyway, and the theme of our holiday this year is "do as many new things as possible". Plus, one night at AKL would never be enough

Maybe I'll save up for the AKL villas!

Hello from AKL Jambo!

I just wanted to update a couple things, before I forget!!

The Mara (currently!) has two 4-slice toasters and a microwave. (I believe that was asked recently.)

DVC Villa Studios: The refrigerators are half-sized and most have little freezers, however, I was in a "Standard Studio" for 3 nights (# 5210) and the fridge did NOT have a freezer compartment. I moved to a Value Studio today (I will not give the # till after I've checked out! ) and that fridge DOES have the freezer! Both rooms are just off the lobby, at the edge of Sunset Savannah.

thanks for the update. How interesting re the freezer! I love just being off the lobby have fun today!
