I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to watch the "end" of the AK parade in Africa and then stay for dinner. If closing is at 5pm on a given day, and the parade starts at 4pm, ending around 4:30 in Africa, would we have time to have a meal at Tusker House or Flame Tree, or do they "kick you out" of the park at 5pm on the dot?

Also, where exactly is Flame Tree? I know its in some village, but cant' find that on any map. TIA!

The Flame Tree (which is excellent BTW, we have eaten there several times) is on Discovery Island on the path leading to Dinoland USA. I am unsure about the closing procedure so can't answer that, but I am sure someone here will be able to help.

In December, Tusker House closed at 4:00 pm.

I'm not positive, but I thought The Rain Forest Cafe did stay open after the AK park closed.

Be careful because the counter services restaurants close earlier than the parks. One trip I was all set to eat at Tusker House in the afternoon and it was closed. I was so looking forward to it and was very dissapointed, and hungry. :( Can you tell I love Tusker House.

I do not think any of the counter service restaurants are open until park closing

On a side note I was there in Feb on a Friday - park closing was 5pm - watched the parade, went to Zawandi Market store, did some shopping then went over to KS just before 5pm and walked onto the last truck going out.

Harambe was almost empty - I hung out for a wire there checked out the architecture, listened to the landlady, and just relaxed for a bit - no one tried to rush me out or anything out of the area

Eventually walked out to the entrance area and left around 6:10pm and did not have anyone "rushing" me to exit

thanks

Counter service closes early. The only place open would be Rainforest Cafe....but they have really good food.

Thanks everyone! We'll have to eat there for sure, but not at the end of the day I guess!
