I just made DD16 and I chicken nuggets for lunch and I usually have to make Stewie one as well. No kitty around to mooch off my lunch. Things like that are what really stands out to me.

I've not used AM for booking hotels. How hard is it to cancel a reservation? Do all the AM go directly back to your account if you have to cancel? Thanks for your insights!

Good catch and thanks for posting that as I was going to shop at Walmart tomorrow. Now I may or may not do the promo as I already did my spend at Staples last week.

I submitted the receipt for the 4 bags of TORTILLA CHIPS, that of course got missed, and got credited for frozen Blueberries! I then needed to send inquiries to both airmiles (the missing Nacho chips) and zehrs (they always miss the fact that my frozen Blueberries are still in fact, Blueberries) BTW, it looks like the Blueberries need to be fresh, but obviously, frozen works too! Frederick has a full tank and the freezer is stocked with more frozen dinners for hubby.

Yikes….

DD and the cast went to Orlando for costume fittings. Was supposed to be less than a 24hr trip. They have been sitting at MCO since 5:30 today. It’s just been delay after delay after delay. They should have been back home by now. The plane finally arrived a half hour ago and everyone got off but now it’s delayed again. They just heard the gate agent tell someone there is an 80% chance it’s being cancelled. DD called the BF (his dad is high up at YYZ) and his dad says the flight is still going to come in. I’m trying to stay awake to chat with her. My eyes are burning I’m so tired.

Update....

The flight kept getting delayed until some time around 12:30am when the gate agent announced over the PA that it was cancelled. Everyone needed to go back out to the check in counter for rebooking. All the passengers got up and left...going back out past security to the counter. Prior to this I suggested to DD that one of them call their emergency travel line (the company has a 24hr line for things like this) to let them know what was happening and to get some advice. So when they were told the flight was cancelled someone called the emerg line again to say that it was in fact cancelled. The instruction they got was to go to the counter and try to rebook themselves. If they were not placed on the 7am flight and given a hotel to call back. Now, in the midst of all this I'm seeing that the flight is not cancelled but has been further delayed. I mention this to DD...she says, the announcement was very clear and that the entire group of passengers had gone back to the counter. So at the counter they are all told that the flight is NOT cancelled and will be departing at 1:45am. However, security is now closed so no one can go back to the gate. They are also told that the airline will contact their booking agent to arrange the rebooking and they should just go sit and wait. They went to take over the couches near the food court. That was 1:40am and where I tapped out.

ETA....no sooner did I hit post and I get a text that says "I'm in Detroit". She has just landed and will call soon.

I'm texting with one of my airline friends...she said the flight was officially cancelled at 2am. She's going to find out what happened but said they tracked mechanical issues all day long yesterday on that one.

I just had 25AM post to my account and 2x 25 post to DH account. For the life of me I can't figure out what they are for. As I've mentioned before I don't have that many items outstanding so it shouldn't be difficult to figure out. I'm perplexed.

I did my Airmileshops shopping set for instore pickup. Fingers crossed they work.

I've been watching wait times and Genie + with LL and ILL. The wait times were low as well as there was availability for most LL and ILL as well as any virtual queues. With the new system - most of the more popular attractions - the LL is gone - and ILL are non-existent by about 9:00 AM Orlando time.

I know it's early yet with the new system - and I'm waiting for some of the more popular Vloggers to post on tips and tricks for the new system. We are staying off site - as we are trying to keep costs down with how high the exchange rate is right now. Right now - we are using alllllll the points/AM we have been hording for the past 2-3 yrs - and that includes what ds has accumulated with Hotels.com as he is consistently booking hotels for his crews working out of town. It just helps with the cost of the trip.

I guess I will have to adjust our expectations - and get what we can get - as an off-site guest. It was looking VERY promising for us to be able to knock off all the rides and experiences we wanted without long 120 minute waits for some of the rides our ds's want to partake in. WE will have fun either way - it is just a little harder for youngest ds and myself to stand for long periods of time due to foot issues (which I know is first world problems ) These issues are minor compared to others who come to Disney with more severe health issues.

My friend at the airline said pretty much what I thought. The cabin crew timed out due to going mechanical for over 2.5hrs. The pilots were still legal. These little details were known when the plane left YYZ and while in flight they tried to get another crew from MCO. Onsite reserve was already finished. BTW, this is very normal stuff to happen and happens to all carriers. My friend did say that there are communication issues with MCO ground staff. Had this happened somewhere else they may have cancelled sooner....partially because of the time.

When I spoke with DD she was on the move to get to her connecting gate. She only had a little more than an hour but they had enough time to stop at Satan's Brewhouse. I didn't even think to ask what happened from 1:30 until 6am. I assume they stayed at the airport on the couches. What she told me was that there was a bunch of back and forth between the cast, the emerg line and the office here. The end result was booking new tickets on a different carrier and splitting the group... some going to Detroit at 6am and some to Atlanta. Next text, 11:30am, saying that she was crawling into her limo and heading to the apartment. She needed a shower, food and a nap. Then said that work was officially cancelled for today and maybe tomorrow too. If she doesn't have rehearsal tomorrow she will come home later tonight for the weekend. I assume that means I will be required to cook her some meals to go You know in the grand scheme she got home only about 11hrs later than planned. Not all that bad. She mentioned how lucky they all were to have the company taking care of everything. There were a few in the group making a fuss about seat assignment. DD said just get on a the plane, this is a work trip, we need to get back to the office. Every now and then I get to hear her say something or set someone straight and I realize that she has in fact been listening to me.

Does anyone remember if there were cherries listed on the last bunch of receipt offers? I seem to think there was but not sure. I found a receipt today from the 21st that listed cherries. I scanned it anyways so I guess we shall see.
I did find another one with bacon so 8 AMS for that. It also showed Nutella, which got me excited. Nutella is 20 AMs. Turns out this person bought the wrong size jar, darn it.

I placed an order this morning for printer ink and packing tape at Staples. Went to pick it up just after noon. They had the printer ink but not the packing tape. Not ideal but OK, I'll only be charged for the printer ink. Then we headed out to do some visiting. When I got home I checked my emails. There's one saying that I have picked up the tape and am now being charged for it.

No, no, no. I called the store. I needed to go in to return it... Went to the store... spoke with a few people finally the person who picked the order came to the front. I just received the printer ink not the packing tape. They as an organization would be out $75-$12 plus tax. I just want my stuff and my Airmileshops order to work. They were going to give me more expensive tape and then charge me for the ink at the cash. No. I want the ordered processed online.

He finally credited me for what I will soon be charged for the tape, I handed him back the printer ink and I've placed the order online again but this time with pens instead of tape to get me up and over $80. The order is being delivered so it will come from the warehouse. DH thinks I just should have kept the tape and called it a day. I was way ahead on the deal, but no, I did the right thing.

This better work out this time
