agree to disagree? gray areas everywhere

I originally wrote this to see if I could get advice for my 1 year old to avoid missing therapy as I served (seeing how it could be days/weeks). Not a childcare issue. Not a SAHM vs. the world issue. Not my child is more special than yours issue. It has turned mean. I'm not going to get you to agree with me, and you are entitled to your ways of doing things. Thanks for chiming in. Let's move on.

and if you had worded your OP in that manner you might have gotten different responses.

My response was that you're not entitled to an exemption as a SAHM but might be eligible based on your circumstances. Having to take a family member for treatment might be a valid excuse.

There's no excuse for what this thread turned into - no matter how the first post was worded.. The nastiness, personal attacks, rudeness, insults, sarcasm - have all been far over the top..

I can't believe that this thread wasn't shut down and numerous posters admonished for their behavior.. I was under the assumption that the DIS still has the same guidelines as when I joined quite a few years ago..:sad2:

Mid-way through the thread, it wasn't even about the OP's question anymore.. It was several other posters slamming each other back and forth.. Is this allowed now? :sad2:

Does anyone know how I go about getting this closed/removed? I have PM'd both moderators with no response/action taken by either. Thank you.

Have C.Ann do it as it appears that she is a moderator now.

Have you tried clicking the little triangle in the lower left corner of your post? There doesn't really seem to be any moderating going on with any of the boards lately - which is why I was wondering if the DIS guidelines had changed.. The posts I have read in the past few weeks (not just this thread or this board) would never have been allowed to stand before:eek:, so I really don't know what's going on.. Maybe they're training new ones? :confused3 I'm not even certain how they go about selecting moderators..

Anyhow - try the triangle and if that doesn't work - and this thread continues - I guess you'll just have to keep doing it over and over again..:confused3

Parenting expert? Some kids go through times of anxiety. Would you put your child afraid of snakes into a snake pit to cure her fear? How is that connected to serving jury duty? :confused3

I know, right? I knew that part of my post would definitely be singled out by the more ignorant... I wasn't going to bother responding, but since you did... :)
The PP obviously knows nothing about my family, that particular child, what other issues he has. Our family works well for us. I believe I have 3 fabulous kids. Him being a little anxious does not bother me, it shouldn't bother the PP. He is much better now than a year ago but still has anxiety issues. They will pass. It is his personality, similar to how I was as a child. The other two are social butterflies and would have no problem going with pretty much anyone. They were all raised the same, it's just how he is. I have no need to send him to aunt suzy for an hour, just to make the PP feel better. He will hang out with me during the weekdays, as he always does, and to get back on topic, I will be skipping jury duty to be with him. :rolleyes1
