Did my CP in spring 2010.

I suggest extending to be able to have time to get money saved and it also looks great to management and casting. There are a ton of my friends still down there.

What role are you?
Have a great time!

I did that myself. I did my last CP Spring 2010, and went FT 2 days after it ended (still at WDW, in fact)

Joanna is the BEST person to ask. She's been there for a long time and is awesome. She knows so much about cp. She helped me when I was accepted in 2010.

I'm planning to do that! I just finished my CP in August and I applied for a 2nd CP and a few PIs...but didn't get in for either :confused3 BUT i plan to apply for more PIs in January and hopefully after I complete that internship I can move down there and be full time! good gracious I really hope the plan works!

I did my program Spring 2013....what I ended up doing was that I extended my program... then went seasonal so I can finish school. Once I graduate I plan on moving in with some friends and applying to work down there full time :)

I know quite a few people finishing their program now (they started in spring advantage 2013 with myself) and moved there now. You will have plenty of company. :thumbsup2

do a lot of people extend?

do a lot of people extend?

A lot of people "want" to extend, but it's quite tough. As the majority of CP's are staying in Company Housing, extensions are decided by availability and there is a limited amount of space. Getting approved for an extension is based on a couple things.

-operational need
-housing availability
-record card

Good luck if you're considering it!

I would say that the order of priority is determined by two things

1) Operational needs (ie what you are asking to extend in and whether they need more people there)

You are more likely to get an extension offer if you put stay in your location and within your line of operation than switching to another line of operation.

The next biggest factor is based on your record card. There is a huge amount of competition for extensions and if you have accumulated quite a few points, then you are less likely to be offered an extension.

Just finished my cp and went seasonal, now what? Need a new ID and name tag?

You need a new permanent ID, you don't necessarily need a new name tag. If you want a name tag, (not sure where you're working) but you'd need to go to costuming and pay for one if you're talking about changing it to your home town. They'd just take it out of your paycheck.

The new permanent ID, you have to wait until your current CP ends before they'll give you a new one typically. But you need to go to Access Control specifically at Disney University to get a new ID. Just like when you first arrived. Whether you can get one before the day your current ID expires depends on when your management team contacted access control.

What do I need to take with me to get a new ID?

If your old ID has your photo on it, that's all you'll need. If it doesn't, you'll need another government issued photo ID (driver license, state ID card, passport, etc.)

If she is finishing up a CP, it won't have her picture on it unless she previously extended. So as eadavis said, bring a government issued photo ID. Doesn't hurt to bring your old company ID as well.

I finished my CP on 1/1, my ID expired 1/3 and EAS still hasn't changed me to CT status. My leader and our labor liaison both said they did the paperwork for me to become a seasonal. I have been calling Access Control daily to see if my status has changed yet. I have e-mailed my leader and she emailed the location manager and we were told nothing my location could do until EAS processes the change. How long does it take them? I really need to start picking up shifts soon.

Depends on when they submitted it, but it should take about a week but depends. Might be because of the season busyness, I am not sure but I would continue to follow up with them. Is there any way for you to contact EAS directly yourself or can only your location manager do this? I'd also talk to Access Control and see if there is any way for them expedite the process.
