Advice, suggestions for plantar fasciitis?

Cortisone and no bare feet especially on tile or hardwood floors - I had a flare after a trip to Mexico - rooms are tile and walking by on concrete pool decking

DH got inserts, slept with a boot, and rolled his foot on a frozen water bottle daily.

I did the same exact thing and would get shots in my foot from the poditrist. It took about four months for it to completely go away. I exercise and also run daily so I would always reinjured it. Its very, very painful but I did above every day/night.

My husband can tell u.. The surgery doesn't help.. Well not on him anyhow.
Not the first time
Nor the second time

Only thing I let my doc do for mine was the shots in the bottom of my feet

I got this a few years ago and saw a thread about it. Someone said that they got Skechers Shape-Ups. I bought some - the pain went away immediately. I wore them for a year straight, and didn't go barefoot. I guess I was lucky because my plantar fasciitis went away. So, I went from not being able to stand in the mornings to no pain whatsoever. I also did some stretches, and still do that when going up stairs.

I did it all. Nothing worked on both feet. I had to have surgery on both just weeks apart. I wear custom orthotics fitted by my surgeon. My New Balance 928 have been a godsend. I love my Vionic flip flops just for going to the beach otherwise it's back to my New Balance Athletic shoes. It is beginning to flare up after 17 years and need to see the Doctor again. GOOD LUCK!

^ I second this stretch! I would also stand on the last step and drop one heel to stretch also, multiple times a day. Like everyone else, I switched to good shoes all the time! Even bought a pair of Birkenstock clogs to wear in my house as slippers. Good shoes have made a world of difference for me.
The exercise you mentioned helped me too.

I used them when I had PF. They helped me.

I tried so many things recommended. The two things above helped the most. But everyone is different. What works for one, won't necessarily work work for someone else.
I do think dropping a few extra pounds helped. The funny thing about PF is it hit me suddenly, stayed with me awhile, and left almost as suddenly. One day I got up and was surprised the pain was gone.

I'm sorry for those that are dealing with PF. It's so painful! Hopefully it will go away soon.

Also, be careful to break in new shoes! When I don't I flare up. Dr said to start with wearing new shoes for an hour each day, then two, etc. I found when it was bad I had to start with and increase by 30 min. The PT stretches, exercises, no bare feet, prescribed orthotics, and ice baths (immerse the foot for 20 min-ouch but was better than frozen water bottles) all made a huge difference too. But for Disney prep, if you can make sure to have new, supportive shoes and give yourself time to break them in slowly before you go. Good luck!
