We will be doing MK on Oct 30th for MNSSHP (entering at 4), on Nov 7th for MVMCP (again at 4), and on Nov 4th for rope drop and opening ceremonies. On that day we will be leaving MK by 7 to do the Pirates and Pals Firework Cruise. It will be myself, daughter, son-in-law and 6 year old grandson. We plan on a fairly relaxed pace to take in the sights. Do you think, on the two party nights, it would be wise to concentrate on a single area before the party activities begin and then do the rest on our longer day? Which areas would you suggest for which day? We plan on doing fast pass on my grandson's "must do" list as he was under 40" the last time we were there, but trying to decide where our plan of attack should be before we hit our 60 day mark. Any thoughts???

I would check out the touring plans on www.easywdw.com and plan your full day at the parks. Then see how much more you want to fit in. Then I would post a separate post titled Attraction Strategy during MNSSHP and MVMCP. Include in it your plans for your full day.

Doing both those parties is going to cost a fortune and many people find them to be a let down especially MVMCP but I am guessing you already have researched all that and have decided to do both anyway. What is the bed time of the 6 year old? I have been to Disney with my own kids many times between the age of 5 months and 6 years old and can say that staying out until after bed time multiple nights on a trip is a recipe for trouble. The parties don't get into full swing until after the park kicks out non-ticketed guests so keep that in mind as its likely around 7pm or so? Be prepared for him to be so tired that the cruise puts him to sleep at that time. Boats tend to do that to my kids anyway. Are you going to another park in the morning of the days when you do the parties? If so are you going to book fastpass at that park or at the MK? If it was me and I was spending a fortune on tickets to those events my plan would likely be to book my fast passes for the must do attractions starting at 4:00 when you arrive, fill in time between fast passes with less popular attractions like the caroselle, people mover , tiki room and carousel of progress etc. Once the party starts focus on doing only the party and leave the park at his normal bed time so that he is only in bed maybe an hour late those nights

On both party nights, book FP for any must do attactions. I will say that I liked the Jungle Cruise Chistmas Layover, so if it is there I would include it. AS a PP pointed out, there are also less popular attractions that you could get go onto, and if you plan on eating, I would do so before 7 PM.

I also think that two parties is overkill, and after MNSSHP the Chistmas party is a bit of a letdown. Since you are doing both, plan on concentrating on party activities, especially with the parades and fireworks in mind. Trick or treating is fun fo kids, as is stopping for hot chocolate and cookies. SIlly as both seem, they really are a part of the party and I woudl plan on both.

My daughter is insisting on both parties as we did this 3 years ago when my grandson was 3 and he handled it well. We are not doing any parks before the 4 pm entry and plan on a mid afternoon meal before we arrive. Sleeping in the morning after. We will concentrate on event shows, trick or treating, parades, doing Jungle Cruise for MVMCP and Haunted Mansion for MNSSHP. Thinking Tomorrowland area from 4-7 then Adventureland/Frontier area from 4-7 on the other date. Concentrating on Fantasyland on our longer day. Any advice?

I definitely like the idea of one "land" per party day in the 4-7 hours and it's good that those aren't Fantasyland, which you'll save for your longer day. Get fastpasses for those areas and fill in with short-line rides or re-rides. I don't do the parties, but I understand that if you're interested in certain characters, the lines form early, so you may be getting in line prior to 7. Then focus on trick-or-treat, parades, shows and more rides during party time. Your last full day you can focus on Fantasyland and probably also get re-rides or pick up attractions you missed on your party days in other lands.
