Yah! I got my Mom's Pack today...took a bit longer to get to Canada.

I was surprised how nice it all is...my kids and I all got excited just in time for our trip next month! I am shocked how big the magnet is that you all were talking about!!!

Question - I assume the DVD is the same 2008 Vacation Planning DVD. Can someone who watched it confirm?

Here I am! I feel so honored to be remembered!

We've had a lot of health issues in the family so I've been struggling to keep my head above water - I'm sorry I've been neglectful!

I, very sadly, have still not received my Mickey Moms packet. I am so afraid it will never come and I'll never get the magnet.

I have nothing really exciting to report here. My oldest dd will (I think) be entering school this fall for the first time - I've homeschooled, but it's become very difficult to do with all the other issues right now. Anyway, I took her to an evaluation this morning and the teacher came back with all kinds of questions for me about how I had taught her and how she knew things, etc. They were very impressed (and seriously she's amazing, why shouldn't they be? ) and they told me that whatever I'm doing, to keep doing it. That felt so great to hear! I know you other stay-at-home or homeschooling moms can appreciate how thankless the job can be sometimes, and how you don't feel like people really notice what you're doing. I felt very validated this morning so it was a great way to start a weekend! And this afternoon dh called to tell me he got a nice raise and another bonus!

So that's my life in a nutshell.

Actually... I have managed to track down a handful of the attendees of this weekend's Mommy Blogger Mixer. It sounds pretty “cushy,” too: all-expense-paid trip, including deluxe accommodations at Disney’s Beach Club Resort and a top-secret itinerary. (Note: Some of the invitees are more difficult to identify, since they contribute to shared/cooperative blogs.)...

...So, in the next few days, we’ll have to check these ladies’ blogs again to see how their weekend went!

Oh DISgeeksfromDC, how do you find all of this stuff??? Can we please have a summary after they update the sites? I got the part that it sounds "cushy" and included BCV and was top secret. It sounds like they were scheduled to attend Cirque de Soliel La Nouba Saturday night, and they have a character breakfast Sunday morning. Friday night, they spent time in Epcot, where they had a spectacular view of IllumiNations following dinner at Tutto Italia. And, of course, the entire weekend is a perfect opportunity for them to network with fellow mommy bloggers.

There's talk about scooping the press by being the first group to preview some new something in the Parks. Needless to say, my curiosity is piqued...

"There is evidently some top-secret event that no one knows about yet and the media hasn't even SEEN. We will be the FIRST to break the news story! We were told we can't take pictures, but we CAN blog about it, so I'll be sure to bring you the scoop when I get back to my room."

I wonder if the something new could be the new Tinkerbell and Fairies character meet and greet. I think I read here this is being set up in the tear drop (new description to me) area around the corner to the left at the end of the Toontown area. I am wondering this because they say "never seen" and the "fall". I think that DVD is coming out in the fall and I don't know if it has been seen by anyone yet. This Tink meet and greet sounds wonderful, I read that they will be "shrinking" the guests who enter so they are Fairy sized.

I'm a little confused. When did all this Mommy blogger stuff come up? To be honest, most of my time "reading" is done on these boards, not blogs.

Just clicking on some of the links posted above, I am amazed at the blogs and websites these Moms do! Wow, it's really like journaling for the whole world to read.

What does anyone know about this Mommy Blogger Mixer? Was this anything anyone had heard of? Seems like it just came out of the blue, and reading some of their entries, it's amazing that some of them have never even been to Florida or Disney World.

Was this event put on by the same three CMs that worked on the Moms Panel or was this something entirely different?

Seems amazing to me that Disney picked up on these Mommy bloggers and is seeking their input too.

Does anyone know the background and/or scoop?

Was this event put on by the same three CMs that worked on the Moms Panel or was this something entirely different?

I've read through most of the links and I haven't seen a mention of Leanne, Duncan or Amy. However, I did catch these two names: Michelle and Joyce. There was a Michelle involved with the interviews on the final round - not sure if it's the same Michelle though.

As far as how this came up....Kim mentioned she and Darcie were going to Disney this weekend for a Mom's blogging event. I asked Kim to post any coverage links she knew of when she got back. In the meantime, our DISGeek...aka Scoopy...found a ton of links referring to the Mom's Blog event. Looks like they are all staying at the Beach Club. And that's where we are now.
