I didn't think you would have to do that until maybe the second or third round? Please clarify. I haven't been on the board much because it is so crazy. Can you explain? THANKS SO MUCH!

I just got my confirmation email that my app. was received. There was no picture upload or anything. I am assuming that would be at a later date. Anyone?

I have applied. Not sure if they will be interested in a UK Mom but I did it anyway. I have been following it with interest so far and I have to admit it seems like a fantastic 'job'. Good luck to all the others who have applied. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Hi—

Was everyone sent directly to the three essays with the submit button in the lower right corner?

I was thinking there would be some questions and a photo upload before I saw a Submit button. Submit seems so final, if there were more wouldn't it say continue?

When you click Submit do you get sent to another page to do the questions and the photo upload?

Thanks.

Hi! There are just the three essays for this round. No photo or bio required yet!

Once you click submit, you should receive a note saying your application was received, and then an email with the same note should show up at your registered email address within a few minutes.

my app is in and confirmed by email! I did cut and paste and used the space bar to activate the word count. Good Luck everyone!!!

Now the fun begins! I ended up going back to my Mickey Mom's newsletter and jsut clicking on that link....I had one word left for each essay! lol

Good Luck everyone!

got through by going to disneyworldmoms.com/2009

Now the eternal waiting begins

Thanks so much for the info!! I was getting a bit nervous!

Do you guys mind if I join your waiting group? It's so much more fun to experience things like this with others who are as excited as you are!

Have a magical day everyone! :wizard:

My problem was even when I hit the space bar after I copied and pasted, and it still said I had 2 words left, the box cut my words off. When I tried to type them in manually, the characters would just disappear. It's as if there was a character limit built into the boxes as well as a word limit. I only had the problem in 2 of the 3 boxes. Of course, one of them was the one telling why you are a great planner. I was sweating bullets hoping I could get it figured out and not spend all day on it, maybe missing out on getting it in on time. I ended up having to delete one word because even deleting the whole thing and typing it in manually I couldn't get the whole thing in. And it was even 99 words, not 100, according to my Word Count in MS Word.

Well, it's in. It's done. Hopefully it will be good enough.

My guess...20,000 entries will be hit sometime on September 10.

Ok...application is done...so stressful to rewrite everything...now off to check for the email.

i ended up rewriting the last sentence in box 1 & 2. But it was all there when I hit submit. Hope they didn't get a blank application! that would be my luck!:goodvibes

Hey guys,

I would very much caution you against cutting and pasting, even if it looks like it might work for you.

After nine months of dealing with the Disney server I know that it does not at all enjoy processing info that has been transferred from Word.

I haven't talked to any CMs and have had no reports of anything having gone amiss from the entries, but I'd would much rather have you all be better safe than sorry.

That's my 2 cents worth of advice.

Also, I'll reiterate what Bret said about spelling, grammar, usage, etc. You don't want to give them ANY reason to kick you out of the pool.

Good luck!

Erin

what does that mean for us that already did the cut and paste?

I submitted by application and received my confirmation email that it was in. I am glad that is done. I think by the middle of the week the 20,000 applications are going to be in. I do not think it will take that long for Disney to reach that goal. Now it's just sitting and waiting! That's going to be the hard part .....

I put mine in. Now the waiting!!

Thanks Erin! You are always so great! I didn't cut & paste, but I didn't see any spell check and I was typing so fast. In addition, grammer...oh boy...I was trying to squeeze all my positive points in.

Anyway, thanks and GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! Does anyone know a date when they are releasing the first results? 20k apps is a lot to go through!

I was just going to jump in with this caution...I've worked many years in systems and recently with an online job application system. You wouldn't believe what happens when you cut/paste a Word document into a text box once submitted...we call it garbly gook! However, if you copied from WordPad or NotePad you may be OK (no hidden tags) but it's better to be safe than sorry. I don't want to alarm anyone - just put out a caution.

Subscribing.

Applied! Can't wait to hear who made it this year! I wish we could have submitted a picture. It would be my Mickey Moms Club magnet sticking proudly to the back of my car.

If you go back to the moms panel site to apply, they recommend not to cut and paste your entry. I am going to apply in 80 minutes when my final class is done for the day.

Just an FYI

I checked my old emails. I originally applied September 11, 2007 for the 2008 panel. I received notification on moving to the second round Oct. 17, 2008. Before I went out to a Halloween party, I remember receiving the rejection email for the third round. So, it was about a month long process for the first round, but with the additional 10,000 apps..WOW! I was just curious on the timing.

Adds some fun to the day huh? Exciting for everyone! :goodvibes
