Anyone ever try one of the Adventures by Disney? My DW ordered the brochure (more like thin coffee table book) and some of the trips look interesting, especially Costa Rica.

I can't find anything in the archives using the search here, so I thought I'd make a new post, and lacking any other sub-forum that seemed apporpriate, I'm putting it here! :cool1:

I was wondering about this myself. I just assumed a new board would pop up some day. Any thoughts, Mods??

Doesn't anybody have any ideas on this?

My family was one of the "test" families last year for Quest for the West. We toured Wyoming - the Teton Mountains and Yellowstone. It was a great experience. We are looking into doing the Italy trip this summer.

Hopefully there will be a board dedicated to these trips in the near future. I'm willing to share my experiences, and I'm sure others will too.

i found the website by using Google and typing in Adventures by Disney. it comes up with alot of hits, some thru travel agencys. look for the one that links to abd.disney.go. lots of info with all the different trip itineraries. i ordered the brochure from this site. I thought the $$ was a little high when compared with say a Collette tour, but after all it's Disney. I hope we can hear from some of those families that have already tried it. I would love to find out exactly how physical some of the excursions were, especially some of the hikes, bike rides, raft rides and horse back riding. Anybody have any first hand knowledge??

I got an email a while back and ordered the "brochure" (It is huge!) I think the tours sound interesting. DD REALLY wants to go on the London/Paris trip :wizard:
Keep in mind that these tours are recommended for families w/ children 8 and older due to the activity level. Apparently they can be a little younger for the Hawaii trip.
Interesting spin-off for WDTC. Can't wait to read some reports!

Me too!! DH and I are most interested in the Costa Rica and Italy trips, although all of them sound great! Mumph39, what was your favorite part? Were there some things that could be improved upon?

I'm a TA and I think these tours are wonderful. So many of the escorted tours around are geared to an "older" crowd, with the exception of Tauck Bridges which is real pricey. So it's nice for families to have another alternative.

I ordered the brochure also. I would love to go on the Hawaii and Italy trips! I don't have any kids yet though... we looked into going to Italy and there are definitely cheaper prices out there. So we're holding off and hopefully when we have kids over 8 y/o these trips will still be around!

We don't have kids, either. For those of you who've experienced them, could we enjoy it as much as a family with children? It sounds like it would almost be easier for us, since we don't have to worry about keeping tabs on little ones yet. Is it worth it to go w/o children?

If you could do a trip report on this thread, I'm sure people would be interested in reading it. Thanks!

I would love a trip report too. I'm very much interested in the Quest for the West tour but it seems like a LOT of $$$. I'm sure I could do it much cheaper on my own, but I'd love to hear about the Disney "touches" that may make this tour worth it.

Remember, we were in a test group, so we did a lot. We stayed at different hotels and did many activities. The Quest for the West tour is slightly different than the one we took. The current trip is a toned down and looks like a more relaxing, yet exciting trip.

We LOVED the whole experience. You have two Adventure guides who are with you during the entire tour. They are very energetic and I'd say very Disney. The motor coach we travelled in was very comfortable. I believe we had 35 people on the tour, so it wasn't packed. You never had to touch your luggage. It was taken to your rooms each hotel switch.

I especially loved the bike tour through the geysers. That was a wonderful way to see them. The whitewater raft trip was great and the Horseback riding was awesome too.

The Teton's and Yellowstone are incredible to see. You won't be dissapointed if you chose to go. If you have any specific questions, feel free to PM me

There were many childless couples on the trip with us. The group ranged in age from I believe 6 on up. They have since raised the age to 8. There were teens, preteens, children, families, singles and couples. There is something for everyone to do.

It is a bit pricey, but you are staying in wonderful accomodations. We felt we had the best of both worlds doing this with Disney. Our trip was planned (although you could do it on your own). Some of the activities, I don't think you could do on your own. (i.e. scavenger hunt around Old Faithful). We had Naturalists come on board the coach bus and tell us about the thermal features of Yellowstone and its history. There was great food, nightly entertainment and great people. The Ranch at the end of the trip was spectacular. I don't know if we could have gotten a reservation there on our own.

We are big Disney fans, and knew we were getting our money's worth. The Adventure Guides made sure everyone was safe and happy at all times. I'd do another trip again for sure.
