Adult pool lovers like me, are you insanely disappointed with the Wish's design??

So just trying to give the benefit of the doubt...but there is a whole section of Deck 11 that is still un-revealed - maybe there will be an adult only section back there?

I would only be happy if that space would hold another adult pool that is...BIGGER.

I know that. I got the referece to Wakanda, but as Black Panther is just ONE in the many, many Avengers movies, I still feel like it is a reach to theme an "Avengers" restaurant heavily towards African food.

Obviously Americans are not the most adventurous eaters as a whole, so I think this tie-in allows DCL to dip their toes into offering something "different" in terms of cuisine, while still being able to fall back onto also having familiar food options. And since Black Panther was immensely popular, I don't think it's TOO crazy of a stretch. Whether or not the DCL version of African food will be good, however, is another story I think!

I just feel like it would have been better to do something sort of like experimental type cuisine, using freeze dried stuff, foams, etc. I think they could make that really fun in a way that would appeal to families. I mean, the Avengers are all about high tech themes.

Honestly, that would be really cool too!

Disney food isn’t that adventurous. And you definitely can’t find spicy food at Disney.

Also, given the large Latino population that visits the parks, I’d assume you’d have more South/Central American food options. But this is pretty nonexistent on cruises.

Likewise, I would also think you have Indian food options.

Given the diverse population that enjoys Disney, the food options can definitely be improved.

Definitely agree.

I'm really trying to keep an open mind on this ship, especially with so many undefined areas. As a family of adults, based on what we know today this is kind of underwhelming. It looks fantastic for younger kids, though. Hopefully some of those soon to be revealed areas have something to entice adult only parties.

I think my biggest misgiving is the dining. I'm not a big dining show / experience kind of person. Just give me good food, good service and a pleasant atmosphere. I'd be ok with one night being some kind of show, but when 2 out of 3 main dining rooms are Frozen and Avengers (not a fan of either), that really doesn't sound like our cup of tea. The one based on Walt does look fantastic, though.

I am not a big dining show/experience person either (Hoop De Doo at WDW is my own personal torture) but I actually really enjoy Rapunzel's on the Magic. The entertainment is just enough to where it is pleasant but not causing issues with dinner. Tiana's on the Wonder seems to be one of the favorite restaurants for the whole of DCL. I have to say I am not surprised that they added a frozen one to this too. If it follows the course of Rapunzel's, I'm not worried.

I think the Avengers one will be similar to Animators in that it is more "experimental" (Although I often feel as though Animators has been severely watered down). Not sure what to expect but I know that no matter what I order, I'll either like it or get something different. Definitely the best part about cruising.

From what I've seen on the smaller ships, the adult pool usually only have 2 or 3 people and maybe a few others at the bar area. I haven't seen it crowed unlike the family pools.

Eh always saw a number of people in the adult section on our cruise on the Fantasy.

The adult areas also should not be crowded while the kids area is fine to be somewhat crowded (just not packed). Looks like there is a bunch more space for the family area though this time with a whole tanning section area on deck 14 forward I think it was.

Respectfully, you must not spend much time at the adult pools. They are packed on sea days. Literally packed with people. That is why this tiny pool on the Wish is unrealistic! Not sure what they were thinking honestly. Clearly, not the adults that want time to themselves.

I think it depends a lot on the route. I rarely saw very many people in the adult pool on my longer sailings on the Magic and Wonder, but it was packed on my 3-day Bahamian cruise on the Dream.

In my experience, days at sea on both the Magic and Wonder, were packed, not a seat in the house to be had and the pool was filled. But, it was okay, because the space was nice and spread out. Wish's pool is right on top of Cove Cafe, literally.

Also, are you talking about possible Transatlantic crossings, when the weather is not nearly as nice as the Caribbean? That may be a huge factor why you didn't see the adult pool as packed as we see it in the Caribbean.

Its much better to have areas where everyone can use, especially on a family cruise, it seems Disney agrees.

When I explain to non DCL people why I love a DCL cruise with "all those kids" the main selling point is how well DCL creates adult areas that are interesting and kid free. I agree that this ship seems to be mostly focused on families with young children on short-haul cruises, which makes sense. I will try the Wish at some point, but I'm in no hurry. We enjoy longer cruises and a more low key dining experience. The Fantasy is our favorite ship.

Pool size on a cruise ship is limited by the need to have the pool recessed to contain pool water in rough seas. Not Disney's fault, just impossible to have a large pool. The old laws of physics. Of course, they could have multiple pools.

We absolutely would try a dish or two that is an Avengers Wakanda themed.
I might also try something high tech and foamy from Tony Stark's lab.
I'm sure I'd enjoy both.

Not really....

The added a larger adult bar, still have the adult pool area, have a large concierge only sun deck, larger concierge lounge (3x???) and likely have a large adult only area on deck 5 including a very large senses area.

They simply divided up the space differently. Deck 5 could end up being partly or mostly adult only.

They also increased the number of concierge suites which are very opposite of "everyone" could book even since they are a pretty big step up in cost and its not like the verandah vs inside state room argument since there is not tangible upgrade to the room as to why the room costs more. Just like club level at WDW its not good value but people like it.

I do understand this concept. And I am not expecting olympic size, just comparing it to the size of the Magic and Wonder. I guess I'm expecting too much and I gotta somehow get myself back on those ships. I enjoyed that experience the best.

Its not a lack of adult "space" I'm so disappointed with. Its the size of the adult POOL itself and how its married to the Cove Cafe, as in on top of each other that I have a problem with.
