Adult pool lovers like me, are you insanely disappointed with the Wish's design??

I really hate to poke the bear here, but you are literally discrediting this based on an artists rendering of what the space is going to look like instead of waiting to see the actual size and scope of the area and the pools once the ship is done.

If I think about the Magic, the deck area behind Palo is HUGE and in my opinion, very much a waste of space. I would be surprised if the adult pool area is much smaller than the ones on the Dream/Fantasy, it will probably be the same size.

Also: How much "swimming" do you do? If you were looking for a lap pool, a cruise ship isn't the right place.

Sorry everything is based on architecture drawings. It's not exact to scale but it is he are not purposely downplaying size either.

Best thing about the fantasy is pool, hot tubs, and then seperate satellite falls.

Not impresswd with the adult areas will wait to see after first videos come out.

besides pool size anyone upset about lack of shade in the adult pool area? I liked having the hottubs on the Dream/Fantasy under the awning and in the shade.

I do like to cruise and I do like to use the pool. We like longer cruises like TA, PC. The Wish won’t be doing those, so I will just make do on it. I am on the inaugural and then the DVC cruise after that one. That may be it for me on the Wish.

My wife and I love the quiet cove areas on the first four ships and were worried when the Wish plans were announced. I was concerned that that there might not be enough space to lounge and enjoy the world go by in a quiet, kid-free setting. A closer look at the deck plans has somewhat reassured me:
Decks 13-14.jpg
I'm assuming that the adult only section on Deck 13 will, at a minimum, include the areas starting from outside Cove Cafe and continuing (in a counterclockwise direction) on passing the pool and forward along the starboard deck past the quite cove whirlpool and to the adults only sun deck. In addition there is an adults only sundeck on Deck 14. Won't know until our first sailing (November 2022), but it looks like there's plenty of room for loungers, seats, and other amenities in this area. Too soon to tell exactly what it will look like, but I'm guessing that this will be a tranquil and comfortable place to hang out. I'm planning to spend a good portion of a four-night cruise Deck 13 aft.

This is super helpful thank you! Honestly, I think this will be a much better set up. Mostly because kids wont have to walk through at all unlike the Dream/Fantasy. Pool still isn't huge but its nice to see there is a separate whirlpool too. I hadn't noticed that.

My wife and I are doing the same 2 cruises on the Wish. Have you gotten the DCL reservation number from DVC? I thought when I booked that they said I would get that info in about a month. Nothing yet. I called DVC after 2 months, and that said it might take another couple of weeks. Still no info. On my DVC dashboard, it does show the travel plan number for the Wish cruise, but no additional information.

I went on a Disney Cruise with my parents when I was either 17 or 18. It’s hard to believe I’ll be 35 when I step foot on another DCL. As a Beauty and the Beast fan, I thought the Dream was the obvious choice, but I decided to book a holiday cruise on the Wish after seeing the adult venues. I do wish I could take advantage of the cheaper periods, but I work in the film industry and I never know what project is going to come along or when — I’d rather spend the extra money and save myself the hassle of having to cancel and rebook. (If I’m rambling, it’s because I’m still trying to convince myself it’s worth spending double on a convenient time).

Marvel and Star Wars aside (I’m not a fan but my partner is - still, the attractions wouldn’t be enough to lure him to a Disney Cruise on his own), I’m very intrigued by the Cinderella-themed piano bar, the board room-style pub, and the romantic Princess and the Frog-styled lounge. These in addition to the three Beauty and the Beast-inspired dining options really just make the Wish feel more welcoming and atmospheric than the other ships, at least at first glance. The pool does seem small, but realistically, we’ll be swimming at off-peak hours (what time do the pools close, anyway?) and spending more time on our verandah trying to avoid the crowds.

Since this’ll be my first time on a Disney Cruise as an adult (of legal drinking age, at least) what are everyone’s impressions of the adult options on the Wish compared to Disney’s other ships?

The Sun Deck (Adults only) is across the elevators from the Aqua Mouse entrance. I'm not sure that will be a quiet sun deck for adults!

I'm assuming that the adult only section on Deck 13 will

Well you have the Aquamouse there and you lose the whole satellite falls area. Seems they took the whole top front section of the ship and made it concerige while just moving that bottom section of the Dream/Fantasy as the new footprint size for the adults area.

but I decided to book a holiday cruise on the Wish after seeing the adult venues.

Maybe I missed it but they haven't shown much in comparison to the current ships like Dream/Fantasy which have nice large adult only areas.

Lots of space on the wish (which isn't really bigger it seems) being take up by the spa and concergie. Additonally almost everything in the video they released was an extra cost not included. Spa is great but to me a complete utter waste of premium top deck space which used to shove the teens down on the front of the ship. Thus teens get moved to the top of the ship instead of having the extra adult only space.

Will watch the video reviews but hoping they completely redesign layout for the next ship which will like be laid out with longer cruises in mind. Like how satelittle falls was first on just the Fantasy if I remeber reading correctly.

Let me clarify, I'm all about swimming (more like wading vs doing laps, I'm realistic lol) and pool real estate. This is practically zero. I don't care that there's more sun space, I do care that there's space to actually enjoy a pool (like the Magic and Wonder). It will be a living nightmare trying to get into that tiny space on a day at sea, it will leave alot of adults not wanting to come back again.
Agree. We like to sit near the pool. And not on the top deck either because I need shade. Usually there is one day where we spend the whole day there. I still booked on one of the early sailings, but so far I am not thinking the Wish is going to be my favorite.
