Adult pool lovers like me, are you insanely disappointed with the Wish's design??

No idea what the Avengers restaurant is going be. Hopefully, they didn't replace potentially good food for entertainment.

Allegedly some random mix of American and African food, for some reason. I mean, it really seems like a reach.

Black Panther is based in Wakanda which is a fictional country on the continent of Africa. Also, there are some AMAZING African dishes. By mix, they probably mean a variety of different dishes. Some American cuisine (aka for kids) and more adventurous food for the adults.

When I saw the pool I thought it looked tiny.

Disney did the exact same thing when the Dream class launched.... not enough pool space which is how satellite falls came about on the Fantasy.

I love the idea of an infinity pool - but anyone that has been to Aulani knows how this is a hot ticket and fills up so quickly.

A little off topic, but the start wars bar also feels really tiny for how popular its going to be!

I'm sure by the time the second ship launches there will be extra pool spaces added.

Oh Disney.... the anticipation was great, the renderings, though beautiful point to the apparent target ... large gatherings with family w/kiddo geared... Everything. Yes, disappointed. It’s difficult enough when the Adult Only Areas are not truly Adult only .. and that’s Across cruise lines... but they appear almost non existent.
looks to be a Pass for this latest Adult only travel group.. atleast you made the Celebrity choice ..easier for us.

I've just accepted that the Wish isn't for me. I agree about the adult pool area being a real disappointment. Frankly, the pool areas in general don't look particularly exciting. The dining is also just too much for me (I really don't want to eat dinner with The Avengers). With rotational dining not being assigned until you're on the ship, there's really no way to schedule around avoiding those locations (other than eating at Cabanas, though they've said nothing about Cabanas...). Even the staterooms -- while they look luxurious -- just strike me as a little too in your face.

I much prefer the subtly and elegance of the other ships, especially the Dream and the Fantasy, but this is the direction DCL is moving in. The Wish will work really well in the Bahamas as a companion to a WDW trip but place her (or a sister ship) in Europe or Alaska and I don't think it works as well. Thankfully, we're still decades away from that. While I'll reserve judgement until she debuts, I'm also not spending $5,000 on a cruise that I'm skeptical about.

You nailed it. This is exactly how I feel in a nutshell. I hate the idea of Avengers at dinnertime. And as much as I enjoyed Frozen at the theatre, I definitely don't want to hear Let it Go screaming in the background with my filet mignon. So yes, I have ruled it out as well. For those that are saying the 3 or 4 day, you're off the ship most of the time, that is just not true. What about those that choose DCL as the destination and not get off at Nassau at all? You want that adult pool and there literally is no space for many adults to fit in this thing at all. So, I'm genuinely excited for those that are happy about this new ship, I hope you have an awesome time!! But just not for us, I miss the Magic and Wonder going to the Caribbean, I want those pools and restaurants back!

I'm also in the camp of being underwhelmed by the adult spaces on the Wish. Quiet Cove is our hang out on sea days, and if you've ever been aft while sailing you know it can get very windy back there. I liked how enclosed the adult spaces are on the other ships to protect from wind and sun, not sure how this is going to work out. But, I'll reserve judgement until we see it in person.

The saving grace for me is the expanded concierge areas, that forward sun deck should be epic!!

Does the slide to the kids club remind anyone else of the slide in A Christmas Story😂
I'm interested to see how it will work. They will have to keep kids spaced out so they dont crash into each other at the bottom, I am assuming there will be a cast member at the top and bottom to manage the safety and also keep kids from going up the wrong way, they are going to have to clean it regularly, etc.

So just trying to give the benefit of the doubt...but there is a whole section of Deck 11 that is still un-revealed - maybe there will be an adult only section back there?

I was thinking this too...a nod to Black Panther and the Avengers as a whole. Cruises are a fantastic place to try different foods, so I honestly love this idea! Offering more "exotic" dishes and cuisines is a definite positive. And the dining spaces and lounges look super intriguing to me...but ughhh the adult pool.

And I know I'm in the minority here, but I really wish DCL would just offer a beverage package of some kind. It's a huge negative for us as we really like the convenience of having 99% of everything paid for before we even embark.

And I didn't realize this ship was only sailing 3/4 days itineraries. Another ugh in my book. DH & I really only sail 7 days or longer. Although, if we were seriously considering the Wish, I guess we could look into a simply B2B or a B2B with another ship.

Sorry I'm getting off track...yes, still disappointed in the adult pool and really hoping to be proven wrong!

I'm really trying to keep an open mind on this ship, especially with so many undefined areas. As a family of adults, based on what we know today this is kind of underwhelming. It looks fantastic for younger kids, though. Hopefully some of those soon to be revealed areas have something to entice adult only parties.

I think my biggest misgiving is the dining. I'm not a big dining show / experience kind of person. Just give me good food, good service and a pleasant atmosphere. I'd be ok with one night being some kind of show, but when 2 out of 3 main dining rooms are Frozen and Avengers (not a fan of either), that really doesn't sound like our cup of tea. The one based on Walt does look fantastic, though.

Honestly, I doubt we'd book this ship anyway as the 3/4 night Bahamas cruises don't really interest us anymore (been there, done that). I guess we'll just have to wait and see how this all shakes out. I have no doubt there are plenty of families that are genuinely excited about the Wish and these first cruises will sell out quickly. If our son was still a little kid, I might be one of them!

This is HIGHLY likely to be the casual dining exclusively area. It even has the deck space off the back of the boat like the current Cabanas.

If there is any Adult Only space its going to be Deck 5 likely in the senses area and possibly Adult Only in certain areas and possibly hybride in certain areas.

I'm intrigued with these Celebrity cruises. Are they all adult? Just maybe we should start looking at those and say goodbye to Disney, now that our kids are adults.

Celebrity allows kids, but these ships are more subdued, and quiet. If you're looking for adult only, look at Virgin Voyages....fun ships, lots to do, 18 and older to sail.

I know that. I got the referece to Wakanda, but as Black Panther is just ONE in the many, many Avengers movies, I still feel like it is a reach to theme an "Avengers" restaurant heavily towards African food.

Yes! We like to talk about our day and spend time together as a family. We find that that both Drawn to Animation and Turtle talk with crush are fine as they do not take up the whole meal. My concern with the way the Avengers meal is presented is that the "mystery clue show" will be very repetitive for repeat cruisers. I have yet to experience the new shows on the Magic and the Wonder, but have the wonder scheduled for 2022.
