How hard are reservations for dinner at the adult restaurants? We are looking at doing a 7-day Caribbean cruise. It'll be for my husband and I's 40th birthdays. The biggest sell is the adult dining and having a night or 2 with the kids in the kid's club while we adult dine. We might be silver level, we've done 1 Disney cruise back in 2021, but I heard they might be expiring levels now if you don't cruise often enough? Is it pretty much guaranteed we will find a time slot for one or both of the adult restaurants?

No not guaranteed. Adult dining reservations open according to Castaway Club Level
  • Pearl 123-days out
  • Platinum 120-days out
  • Gold 105-days out
  • Silver 90-days out
  • First time cruisers 75-days out.
If there are no open reservations when your booking window opens you have 2 options
1. Keep checking on a regualr basis until your cruise
2. Go to the dining reservations team on embarkation day as soon as you get on the ship.

Depending on the demand for adult dining reservations, you might get a reservation there and then or you might be put on a waitlist.

If you are unable to secure a reservation ahead of time or even once on board, make sure to get on a waitlist. Several times, my husband and I have cancelled the day before, especially if the reservation is toward the end of the cruise. Sometimes, we just feel too stuffed to eat another big meal! Enjoy your big birthday cruise and have fun! It will be a cruise to remember, I'm sure. :)

You will still be Silver until at least 2016. Wording on the Disney Cruise website indicates that people may lose their status if they do not sail or book a new cruise within 5 years of their last cruise.

As others have mentioned, you can try to book dining in advance. If you can't, you can check in the Dining Changes location once you board the ship and get put on a waitlist if necessary. You can also stop by the Palo or Remy/Enchante check-in desk during the cruise to ask about availibility.

We're silver and Palo brunch was sold out when our booking window opened for both sea days. I was poking around 19 days before embarkation and snagged a 12:30 reservation. People change plans all of the time.

I think you will have an easier time getting dinner than brunch, so hopefully you should be able to get something either before the cruise or once onboard. Enjoy your anniversary!

Dinner is much easier. It's available almost every night; whereas, brunch and the dessert experiences are only offered once or twice/per cruise mostly.

We have been on 20 plus dcl cruises. We have never had a problem getting a palo reservation. If not online then once we get to the ship. If you’re on a ship with Remy it’s even easier. For a really special night I’d go to the bar at Palo ahead of time for a drink and then a nice bottle of wine. I think they also do wine pairings if that’s of interest

I’m not really worried about doing adult paid dining, but a couple days in and think I want to, what are all the options to secure??
1st day- I won’t be doing that
check in desk, guest services, navigator app??

I have stopped by the Palo/Remy check-in desk in late afternoon during a cruise to inquire about the possibility of a future reservation. There may also be a phone number to call — you could ask about that at the Guest Services desk if you can’t find the number in the Navigator app.

Sometimes when they're docked at Nassau but I've never seen them offered on any other port day.
I have seen them add brunch at different ports if the waitlist gets long enough. On eastern and western cruises.

If you are silver and on a 7 night cruise I don’t think you’re going to have a problem doing dinner. You’re only allowed to book once in advance in each restaurant (I think, possibly an exception for embarkation night?) so on a 7 day, there should be a lot of choices left at the silver window. We have done 6 cruises and has no trouble getting specialty dining except on our very first cruise.

So it sounds like I physically have to talk to someone, it’s not bookable through the app when on the ship.
How late are the dinner seatings? We always see all the evening shows, so I would prefer after that. (We always have 8:15 dining.)

Keep checking the app for dining - I just booked Palo brunch for our cruise that leaves 9 days from now!

There are two performances of each evening show, so if you have dinner at 8:15 you can go to the early one, and if you have early dinner you can go to the later show.

It may be available in the port through the app. However, once you are on the ship on embarkation day, it's easier and better to talk to the dining team. If they have availability, they will book it right then. If they don't, they can put you on a waitlist. If something pops us, they will call your cabin and ask if you want it. I don't see having problems getting dinner as silver. Seatings are available at various times from first to last seating. They are staggered out every 15 or 30 minutes, like a regular restaurant reservation.
