Adding two people to BOG Res?

I will be traveling with a group of 10 and made all of our dining reservations for groups of 4 and 6, and will ask to be seated together or near each other. I snagged a res for BOG early in our trip, but was only able to get two reservations for 4 each. Am I correct in thinking that it will be tough to get two people added to this day-of? FWIW, one of the 10 is an infant.

I’ve tried modifying without success, and calling is just a joke right now. Over the weekend, I spent 5 hours collectively on hold with no answer.

All you can do is ask. It’s possible they will seat you, but be prepared to be told no. And if it’s a “no”, is the whole group leaving or will 8 of you stay? I’d have that conversation in advance so you’re not scrambling if it happens.

Maybe. Maybe not. One of the most popular restaurants, an already-big group ... it's 100% impossible to predict.

Most of the table service restaurants now offer check in thru the app. And when you check in, you have the option to add 1 more guest. We just had lunch there today. When I did check in on the app, it had the option to add the 1 more guest. So with 2 reservations, each one might have that option, getting your extra 2 people in.

I have seen a couple posts from people who said they didn’t not have that option at check in, so I guess it is not guaranteed. But I would say it is a possibility.

Honestly I think you will be fine. It’s good you have a backup plan just in case. The online checkin for ADR has the option to add one guest plus they might not count the infant if a chair isnt needed.

Twice in the past we needed to add one person when we checked in at the podium. They were very nice about it and said sure, it just might take a little longer to be seated. That’s a fine trade off to me.

Great tip about the possibility of adding one at check in! I didn't know about that.

I am really hopeful we'll have luck on the day-of...totally okay with waiting a bit if needed.

did not do BOG last trip but Disney did count our 4 month old granddaughter at all table service even though she could only use highchair at one. would not count on that

Not to make this overly complicated but I used to manage a restaurant. A high chair can be sat as a 5th person on a square 4 top because it has its own table surface. Or can be fit as a sixth on a standard 5 round. Or can be sat at a 2 top with both parents. Generally an infant can fit in where a regular chair couldn’t.

It comes down to how the host sees to handling it. Seating is not reserved at BoG (or most WDW larger restaurants). It’s done on a rolling basis and the table set up is made very flexible to accommodate that.

Yes. You should include the infant in the party count As the posted did in their other reservations.

What I’m talking about is in relation to the chances that this party could be accommodated, which is likely. Not guaranteed, but definitely more likely than not.

Update to my post about adding a person at check in. We had an adr at Beaches & Cream at 7pm yesterday. My online check in specifically said I could NOT add anyone to this reservation. So now I have see. Both can & can’t add an additional guest myself.

the party waiting ended up waiting over 45 minutes because of not counting and trying to add just the infant. she was really upset that we were seated ahead of them because we had counted the infant
