I am thinking of buying more points.
What are the feeling regarding buying more at home resort to guarantee 11 month booking.( more bang for the buck) as opposed to have contracts at separate resorts.
We curreently own at BWV
We have done both: added on at our original "home" BWV and also added on at SSR (bcs of the amazing incentive). Now the first add-on was BWV, so we could "concentrate our fire" so to speak, and maximize 11 month reservations power. Once we were up to a comfortable level with BWV (ie able to reserve our beloved Standard View 2BRs when we usually want to go - all using our 11 month BWV points), we decided that we still needed some more DVC points (it's an addiction!) and so added on at SSR bcs of the amazing incentive, plus the lower maintenence fees, convenience of direct purchase and a sincere desire to stay there sometimes (or use those points to stay at VB).
When we went to "add on" points, it was to enable us to stay longer and in larger accomodations. So we decided to basically double our points, which was a very convenient decision.
We own two contracts at two resorts, and bank one contract and borrow on the other so we can still maintain the 11 month booking window for our entire reservations.
To me, the question is..."Do you really want to stay a lot at the second location?". I wouldn't "diversify" points just to have two home resorts. I would only do it if you thought you'd want to stay at the second resort quite a bit. Just my opinion.
There is no right or wrong on this, just different approaches. Good luck in your decision.
