Adding a Person to a Reservation

Hi,

I Was hoping for some guidance. We are planning our next trip for later this year. We are planning on getting a family suite at AOA. It will be just three of us but at some point during our trip (for two or three nights) our babysitter is going to come down to join us so that my DH and I can have a little help and get away for a dinner or two by ourselves. Anyway, if I am booking a room only reservation do I make the reservation for 4 instead or 3 for the whole trip or for only the part of the trip that we will have the extra person? I am guessing as long as we are under the 6 people maximum for the room then it does not really matter. Is that correct?

That's correct - you can have 6 people in the suite and, with a room-only, you might as well just add her now so you can set up Magical Express for her and avoid extra hassle at check-in.

If you turn your room-only into a package, it's a completely different story.

Are the value family suites subject to the 'extra adult surcharge'? I know that the villas are exempt from this, but not sure about the family suites.

Nope. Villas/family suites/cabins = no charge.

Speaking of Magical Express...my DH and I will be renting a car so we will not need it but our babysitter will when she arrives a few days later and then again when she leaves. Can we do that or because we are not using it will she not be able to? It really is no big deal we can pick her up at the airport but I was just wondering. Thank you again.

We've had another adult on our reservation who arrived later than we did. Because they were on the reservation, there was no problem for them to use DME.
