Adding a day without without DDP

Two questions- I want to add a day to the end of my package, but not include the dining plan to that day. #1 How likely is it that we'll be able to remain in the same room? #2 Will we have to have another magic band for the additional one day stay?

It would have to be an entirely separate reservation from the one you already have. So the answers are:

#1. Don't know. You can request, but you will have to check out and check back in, so no guarantees.

#2. Yes, because it is a separate reservation.

Be sure you book the exact same room category for the room only reservation. It will be a separate res so there's no guarantee that you'll be able to remain in the same room, but you can ask that the reservations be linked. You will have to check out/in again.

If you don't want the DDP for the extra night, you would have to book RO for that night. If you book the same room type, you can have the reservations linked together and add a request to keep the same room. When you check in, mention to the CM that you have a continuing reservation and would like to keep the same room, if possible. It is not guaranteed that you won't have to move, but the CM will do everything he/she can to keep you in the same room. You will also have to check out and check back in whether you change rooms or not.

I check in next Saturday at POP and that is exactly what I did. I added an extra night with a room only discount. I did receive 2 sets of magicbands and I was told to link both reservations on "my disney experience." ( they both show up when I look at my account ) I'm hopeful that we won't have to switch rooms and since I will be going to check in/ out around 7:00am , maybe this will help too.

That's were we're staying! I hope it works out ok, seems a little complicated, but surely it happens fairly often.
