ABD Purchased elsewhere?

Hi all,

We are new to the boards. We did the ABD adventure to Scotland two years ago and loved it. We are planning and working out details for Australia in 2018. As DH has been researching he found that two sites that are nonDisney offer "ABD" trips at a discount up to $1,000 off (total for the trip not per person). DH emailed Disney letting them know about this and asking if they would honor the other prices. In his research it says that once the trip is paid for we are essentially turned over to Disney anyway. They of course were not interested in honoring the other price from a travel agent.

Does anyone have good or bad experiences with this or ever even heard of it? DH is savvy and not pulled in by scams as he does his research. This scares me a bit though.

We did ours through costco and got a pretty good gift card in the end.

If it is a Travel Agent that works with Disney, (like Dreams Unlimited), it is probably legit. I booked mine through Dreams. They are basically giving you part of their commission.
