Abby Girl's Wish Trip MAW/GTKW Pre Trip Report Feb 24 - March 2, 2011

MAW called today and I have to fax more paperwork, the birth certificates and drivers license, they can't seem to find the ones I gave to volunteers and also, the insurance information for the rental car. She said they have some openings in Dec if we wanted to go then, which, we would love to, but finances right now say no, due to hubby having no time at work. She said we could go in Jan, but I asked for March and she said she would check, but that should be fine. She said I should expect to hear something about our dates within the next couple of weeks. We are getting so excited. Abby is just thrilled, it is all seeming very real now and the look on her face when I told her that they called was so sweet. I didn't tell the kids about Dec. because I didn't want them to be disappointed. Christmas time would be awsome, but March will be just as fun for her.

Just jumping on board now. You have a beautiful family. I wanted to say I hope you do get your dates for March. The weather should be nice and enjoyable then. Too bad about not being able to come for Christmas, however it's going to be packed so maybe its a good thing you are not coming then. I personally prefer to stroll thru and enjoy myself at the parks. Nothing better than a 10 min or less wait for rides. I'm just trying to see a positive side to it.

Is there anyway you can continue to do school part time? Or maybe even switch to online? This way you won't loose out on the hard work you've done. I wish you luck on your interviews. My fiancee and I moved to FL earlier in the year with no jobs (but we saved up knowing we were doing this move). He recently got a job but I'm still looking. I've been doing some part time work for my sis-in-law so thats keeping me busy for now. I hope you are able to land something quickly.

Yes I read her trip report. I am slowly reading my way through them. She would love a card. She loves getting mail. As a matter of fact, last Christmas she asked for her very own mailbox and a box of her own mail. She got the mailbox, but not the box of mail. I tried to get so many people to send her cards or letters and I think she only got 3 or 4. Needless to say she wasn't very happy. She checks the mail daily to see if there is anything for her. I try to send her something now and then, but in her words "it's not as much fun if it's from mom"

Let me say this touched me and made me a lil teary eyed. I'd gladly be a pen pal to her if she would like one.

As far as school goes, there is no way to switch right now, I have talked to all my professors and they are seeing if there is anything they can do to help me make it through this semester.

Good luck with your job situation, too. It is tough, the place I am working now, knows the situation and they are trying to give me more hours so at least that helps.

I talked to MAW again today, faxed all the paperwork. However, Abby decided she wants a dinner with the characters. Abby is not a princess girl, she wants Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Chip & Dale. MAW said that they could do a dinner with the characters, but I have to narrow it down to where we want to go. We have never been to DW before, so I have no idea. What is the best one to go to for these characters. Also, I am having such a hard time planning, I don't even know where to start. I am in need of all the help I can get.

Hi I am jumping on your PTR ~ My daughter is almost 9 & she is also getting a wish granted from MAW. We are going to WDW & GKTW in March as well!!!! We are going March 13 - March 19. If we go at the same time I would love to say hi .

I am so sorry that she is in so much pain, that is the worst because we as parents feel so helpless. I hope she starts to feel better soon.

As far as the meal with characters I looked into that as well because Taylor wants to eat with Mickey & Donald so we booked a dinner at Chef Mickey's. That seems to be where the best chance of them being together....

That would be great if we go at the same time. I am just waiting for dates, she did say March would be fine, we will see. I think I am going to talk to them about Chef Mickey's. Thank you so much, yes our children being in pain is sometimes more for the parents to bear, children are so tough, but as a parent our hearts break constantly for them.

Is really hoping Abby starts feeling better. She is not vomiting anymore, however, she now has a horrible cough and started running a low grade fever. I am thinking bronchitis or penumonia. I am taking her to the dr in the am. Too much coughing can = broken ribs or vertebra.

Hopefully they can get her some meds to get rid of that cough. Glad she isn't vomiting anymore.

Dates are definite Feb 24-March 2. Got out flight information this evening. Feb 24, Leave Richmond @ 7am, arrive in Orlando @ 9:15am. March 2, Leave Orlando @ 9pm arrive in Richmond @ 10:46 pm. Gives us a full day that final day. We are all so excited.

Now, if only our household could get over this stomach bug.
