AAA discounts on Pop resort?

How much discount do you get with AAA staying at Pop? We plan on staying there next June 8-16 2012. I think our nightly rate is $149 weeknight and $174 weekend. My wife is on the road alot with work and she is thinking of joining AAA. I told her if she does we may get a discount on our Disney trip next year. She wants to know how much savings on our room at Pop? Also, do you save on park tickets with AAA?

I was told by the Disney Travel Company that having AAA can save guests about 15%. But Disney also offers free dining, or a percentage off a room, so be on the lookout for those, too! Also, you may be lucky enough to receive a pin code from Disney, too. DP got an e-mail with a pin code for free dining, so since we are staying at a value resort, we get free quick-service which we upgraded to the plus dining plan for about 14.00 per day, per person. We are staying at POP 8/15-8/24 with 5 day park hoppers, with the DDP and spent less than 1800.00! So be on the lookout for specials, and pin codes too!

Unfortunately you can't always count on getting an AAA discount anymore. I know this year has been the first time I have ever not been able to stay at any resort I wanted and have at least an AAA discount. It seems Disney is really limiting them.

I used my AAA discount for our trip this November/December. I don't know the exact percentage, but it was nearly that of a free day on an 8 day stay. In the past, I have been told that they block a certain amount of rooms at the hotels. When they are gone they are gone, so its better to book early than late.

No, the Disney World Travel Company and AAA are separate entities. You can't even modify AAA reservations through WDTA.

You can use a AAA discount through DWTA without booking it through AAA. DWTA can tell you what the discount is. You are correct if you book it through AAA, but that is not necessary.

Yep. You can book AAA through WDW directly.

We currently have a AAA discount for our October trip. It's a 15% discount. Every little bit helps...

You can book room only with a AAA discount directly through Disney, but in order to book a package, you need to book through AAA.

The discount differs depending on time of year and level of resort. I was originally booked for the end of October at POFQ with 15%, when I called to change to Pop Century, the discount ended up being 10% for the same dates.
