What a great surprise! I'm sure you'll have a great time! Take lots and lots of pics for us. Tokyo Disney looks so cool
I just bought an extra memory card for the camera, and I'm already thinking we may need a third!
Oh my gosh! I just read this! how funny!
It's funny because it's true.
Holy Hannah! What BIG news! I'm so excited for you. The thoughts in your head must be racing at a mile a minute! I will likely never be able to go there so I can't wait to see and hear what you guys thought... even if you go on only 3 rides. I can't wait!!!
Oh I hope that isn't true - I hope you will be able to go there someday if you want to! You never know... two weeks ago this trip was just a fantasy for us!
What an amazing surprise!! thats is going to be awesome...that is one of my top trips! Congrats! I am sure you still will have an amazing time...can't wait to read all about it when you get back
Ooh - have you been? Tell me all about it!
Carrie! How exciting, you lucky girl! Really happy for you both and looking forward to the TR! I am also looking forward to you next installment for this TR but I can wait! Maybe~!
I should have it posted soon. There are soooooo many pictures for this installment.
Normally I'm just a lurker, but the thought of Tokyo Disney is enough to make me post because Tokyo DisneySea is amazing! It's one of my favorite Disney parks. Good luck with the crowds. I was at Tokyo
Disneyland on a Saturday once, and it was insane! Despite that, I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time, because, seriously? Those two parks are just awesome. The theming at Tokyo DisneySea is impeccable, and the park is just gorgeous. Can't wait to hear about it!

Welcome from Lurkdom! Any advice you can offer about dealing with the crowds would be much appreciated. I'm kind of freaky about crowds on a normal day at Disney, so I'm thinking I may need hypnosis or something to get through this!
I am so happy for you (and green with envy)--that is fantastic!!!! I hope you have a great time and I can't wait to read the TR and live vicariously through you.
Thank you!
Quick story: MY Dh is in the military and had orders for Korea when we were first married. I joined him a few months later. This was my first time overseas and I was so nervous about finding him at the airport. Not a problem! As I left the customs area, I easily spotted my 6'2" Dh standing behind a crowd of 100 or so shorter-than-average Koreans. Even at 5'8" I was several inches taller than the majority of people.

I love it!
I have had that EXACT same nightmare as we plan our next trip to WDW for later this year. We are late to the airport, I haven't packed anything, we have no ADR's, no idea what the park hours are.....It's such a horrible feeling, especially when you're someone who likes to have it all mapped out.
Exactly! You know exactly what I mean!
On another Disney topic, are you going to be at the
D23 Anniversary party next week? If you are and you see a brunette with her tall-drink'a-water fiance who may or may not look like
this lurking around you, then that's definitely not us.
Yes! A-T-G and I will be there, and I'll keep an eye out for you! Be sure to keep those same expressions plastered on your faces all night so I can spot you two...
Holy Cow Carrie - That is HUGE news. Your head must be spinning. OK - I am not going to ask too many questions because you need to focus.....FOCUS....I tell you, so you can be as prepared as possible. Don't worry about us. We will be here when you get back and then we have a very super special trip report to look forward to.
Oh man, I think I need you to give me that "focus" reminder about 6 times a day! I'm also trying to do our taxes, update an e-book and edit two other e-book chapters before we leave.
Okay this was SO funny! Your news is just SO exciting, I too cannot wait to read your report! Hurray!
Thanks! I seriously can't wait to write it, either!
going to Tokyo is my dream trip. You are one lucky woman. Please take a million pictures! Please!
have fun!
I, Lurky D. Loo, do solemnly swear to take 1 million pictures, and to have fun.
Hey Carrie!
Congrats on the Tokyo trip! That's awesome! I finally got caught up on your TR. Great pano photo from Osbourne Family lights! And as always, great posed pics as well. You and Patrick always seem to have fun, regardless of the circumstances. Enjoying reading along.
BISCUIT!!!!

I'm so glad you're enjoying the trippie, and thanks for the kind words about the photos - I'll pass them along!
OMG! I can't wait for the trip report on Tokyo Disney!!
I'm pretty jazzed too, although I notice the reports up on the new Tokyo board seem to be about 2 pages long with maybe 15 pictures in them. When mine goes up it'll prolly crash their server!
CARRIE!!!! WOW!!!! That is ridiculously fantastic!!!
And how ironic that a trip like this was dropped last minute in your lap...you the uber planner!
I know, right?

Am I being punished for something?
If anyone can do it, I know you can! (I can see you now, reading the guidebooks while doing laundry, driving, ect, and doing the last minute cram on the flight over!)

That is almost exactly what I'm doing, except - to be safe - I listen to Japanese language CDs while driving instead of reading...
We will be there about 2 1/2 weeks. We don't even know for sure yet when they're sending us out there, but it looks like it'll be 2 weeks from today.
That's just frickin AMAZING!!! I personally cannot wait to see those photos!
The cool thing is, apparently in Tokyo all the buildings look so different than ours that you can shoot, like, the post office and get an amazing picture!
I am so excited for you. I agree if anyone can pull this trip together you can. I know you are over the moon excited.
I'm thrilled to be abel to live vicariously thru your wonderful trip reports.
I feel like I'm going.
Oh good! That's what I hope to accomplish with my trip reports - the feeling of "you are there... for every excruciating second..."
We still D23'ing next week? Or will packing/planning/freaking put a crimp in that? Cannot WAIT to see pics!
Hells yes! For one thing, we gotta meet PryncessChrysty there! Plus, I'm really looking forward to our Girls' Day Out in da OC!
Thats awsome. Have ton of fun. Would love to get there some day.
Thank you!
Woo hoo! I can't wait to see your pictures!
Me neither!
How WONDERFUL for you Carrie. I'm sure everything will work out for you and Patrick. I can't wait to see your pictures and read your new trip report.
Thank you! Things do have a way of working out. I'm just being paranoid about over-scheduling because we had kind of a problem with it on the Christmas trip (more on that later...). I think if I can just relax a bit it will all come together (says the girl who threw a hissyfit yesterday when a second person recommended we somehow squeeze a trip to Kyoto into a 4-day stay in Tokyo!

)
Congratulations Carrie on your last minute trip, can't wait for that TR. Really I can, because I know it will be amazing, just like your upcoming trip.
Thanks for hanging in there! I'm hoping to make good progress on this trip report before we leave.
Carrie - I am so behind - but your news is so A- MAZING!!!
We had a huge event on base once a year - airshow when all the locals were invited to come. They all crowded together in the space and then shuffled together, shoulder to shoulder, I kid you not - not one inch of space in between them, and then moved down the street from booth to booth - at one moment I went crazy and started yelling at people to "move over a little bit!" They all stared at me like I was crazy and tried to pretend they didn't see me!
Oh my gosh - this is exactly what I read would happen, right down to the "pretending they don't see you" part. I guess it's very shameful to get visibly upset in public, or something.... perhaps not a good match for lil' hissy-throwing me!
They don't wait in lines well, either. If you leave any space between you and the person in front of you, they assume you are leaving it open just for them! They bow to thank you and just move right in!
Also good to know. I'll be sure to stick like glue to the person in line ahead of me!
