A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

Davy Crockett--- love it. Do you want to come and teach it to my "sweetest" kid. He chose him for his biography project.... and report. Needless to say we have a puppet done, but nothing else. He wanted to dress up like him (we have a tic tac toe board to choose activities from) but I warned him that would not be an easy costume. (his mom probably has no clue about any of this....:sad2:

BTW.. where is your favorite AK parade viewing spot? Do you think we can watch it and hit the last nemo show (I don't think I actually asked this, just wondered)

I have some sweetest kids of my own, thanks. ;)

I would have said to sit closer toward Lion King for the parade, but Jill says something different. We'll see what you end up doing and how it works out.

OMG MeMom I was cracking up from those answers your students gave! Taylor Swift and chugging :rotfl: Thats hilariousss! Thanks for a good laugh there :thumbsup2

If you ever want to laugh, just come visit my classroom.

If you ever want to cry, you can come here, too!

I hope it's my parcel, when you see it you will know....:tink:

I can't wait for you to open it!

Too bad it didn't arrive last weekend when Brooklynn & Bella were there.

I think I am going to call and get them to redeliver on Saturday, and then I'll just plan on staying at home around mail time. I thought I'd be able to get to the P.O. to get it, but with work and meetings after school, it's not working out. I'll have it by Saturday, though, and I am excited about it.

It would have been fun for Brooklynn to be there when it came. I may save it until I see her and open it then. We'll see. I could always open it and then wrap it back up and let her open it when I see her. That might be what I do.

:confused3 Nothing today, darn it!

Too bad. A watched pot never boils, so just don't go to the mailbox for three days, and then when you go, it'll be there! :goodvibes

They have a 5-pc. Mickey Mouse and Friends Popcorn Bucket set for $27.95. popcorn::

STOP IT!

I've looked at that before in Disney World to give for a gift. It is cute, and it would be a fun birthday or Christmas gift with popcorn, candy, and video all wrapped up in it.

I will not go to that site often. I will not! If I do, I won't be able to afford to go to Disney World.....period.

how about chugging while clogging??? :lmao:

I'm sure that's been done in the hills a few times.

Yes, someday Henry too will be able to be cheered up with facts about poo!!

I can guarantee that this is a true statement.

chugging while clogging = tripping and falling.......:rotfl:

Do you know this from experience? :rotfl:
I enjoyed the long post. It's fun to know there are other Dis-crazies around here. Are you going to try to come to the hippo on June 20th? We can meet tinkgurl, and I think Dawn and Erica are coming. We could let the girls ride the carousel.

You are fortunate to having a good mother-in-law. I know she enjoys keeping Abby. I would love to be in the financial position to just stay home and take care of my sweet little girls. And there has to be some comfort for a working parent in knowing that their baby is being cared for someone who adores them!
I am planning on trying to make it to the Hippo on the 20th! We are supposed to move the weekend before, so unless it gets delayed, we should be able to come. Do you guys have a time?

I don't know. It'll be whenever tinkgurl and her family are eating at the Rainforest. I figured we could all meet at the hippo to say hello and get a picture, and then maybe hit the Disney Store and let the little ones ride the carousel. Not anything big or anything that takes up much time, but just a quick meet, since we'll all be in the same area.

Here are some more cool things from our morning at Rafiki's.

My students really loved seeing the snake skeleton.

The girls were less than thrilled with the skin, but the boys were still lovin' it.

Scrumptious meals for some.

Friends of the unfurry persuasion.

We almost always see characters here with little to no wait.

I was interested in this school display.

My students loved seeing this, too.

After drenching ourselves in education, it was time to shop.

Interesting recycling facts about the bags.

We decided to have an early lunch and try out the Yak & Yeti counter service.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK331.jpg

The rice was pretty tasteless, but the egg rolls were good. The mango pie was pretty good. We got it just because it was something neither of us had ever had. We just shared the one.

Next time, I know you'll all be surprised...

Disney shopping!

Snakes give me the heebie jeebies -- even their skeletons!

While I am sure that Disney is providing a nutrionally rich product to their animals, I must admit that I prefer what they feed the human visitors so much more!

I HATE snakes...but i thought the snake skeleton was pretty cool how it was still intact like that! We'll have to remember the conservation station for autographs even though the kids probably won;t know who they are!

My tarantula has 8 legs, did the one in the picture have 10? I'm guessing it wasn't living, perhaps died during a molt........

Still waiting to see if my new teammates are going to welcome Rosie into our common space.........
:confused3:rotfl2::confused3

Oh and about that chugging and clogging, CP and I will try that out in World Showcase in a couple of weeks, (I'll let you know if it leads to tripping and falling).:rotfl:

:yay: Woooooo Hooooooo another Nashvegas Dis'er :upsidedow

It will be fun to meet at the Hippo, and I think it would be fun to go eat at one of the rest's there or even in the food court. There are SO many choices. But it would be fun just to walk the mall like I got to do with Memom and Jill last time too. And we can spend as much or little time as we want

Ewwwwwwww snakes and spiders! :scared:

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking!!

Wow, lots of really cool things to look at, and characters with hardly any wait. I think this might be a great spot to hit in December! :thumbsup2

They come out quarterly Feb, May, Aug, Nov. You can view them on the passholder website anytime, but the May one has the cards inside its envelope.

Hmmm...we should have gotten one in Feb then. Bummer!

Call and check with someone. Mickey mail is always fun!

I agree! I'll try to figure out who/what number to call...I want Mickey Mail! ;)

Yes, someday Henry too will be able to be cheered up with facts about poo!!

Ooooh, that day will be here before I know it I think...

I love the snake skeleton, it is cool. You never think about a snake having a skeleton like that.

Sorry MeMom *hangs my head in shame* Could I get away with "the devil made me do it!"? LOL That's a great gift idea!

The more I see your pictures from Conservation Station the more I'm regretting we didn't have time to go over there. We walked the Pangani Trail and the girls really enjoyed it. I know they would have enjoyed Conservation Station too; especially Hannah. She loves animals and has been telling me for the past year that she's going to be a vet when she grows up so she can help animals.

We have two snakes so we are used to the skins. The snake skeleton is really cool.

We live near Memphis, so the Memphis Zoo is where we go. It is a great zoo.

I have been to the Memphis Zoo several times. We took Brooklynn when she was about 1 and a half old. My avatar picture is her at the zoo. She was sitting in her stroller "reading" the map. I would love to head back that way soon. Maybe I can conince MeMom to take a day trip with me and the girls soon.

Jill- I always assumed the picture of Brooklynn was from Disney World. That map does look very familiar now that you mention it. If you can make a trip sometime let me know. If I am not working, I would love to meet you.

She does have that summer break coming up doesn;t she?? Do you get a break in between school ending and summer school??

Yes, Jill talk MeMom into a trip to the Memphis Zoo. I only live 50 minutes from Memphis we could have a mini meet at the zoo. I can bring my new grandson Ty to meet Bella.
