A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

I called Disney yesterday morning and asked about mine. The CM told me that they were being mailed out this week. So watch your mailbox. It is in an envelope this time around.

My DD and I both got our Mickey Monitor last week and they didn't come in an envelope, nor did they come with the coupons. Maybe it's because we have FL resident seasonal passes!? Anyway, it's a good deal for everyone involved.

Oh cool. :) That'd be an interesting job to have!

I would love to work in Animal Kingdom, and right there at Conservation Station would be the perfect place for me.

I know it! :sad1::):scared: <--- my mixed bag of emotions about him getting big. ;) He does look older and older as we creep toward that 2 year mark...

I was thinking the humor of poo might escape him yet too. BUT, the petting zoo sounds just perfect. Plus, seeing the animals closer will be right up his alley!

I read kschafer's story...:rotfl2: love it! So cute.

Sometimes Brooklynn touches, and sometimes she just looks. I think he'll really like seeing the huge gorillas, because they are often right up at the glass.

Hey everyone! Just wanted you all to know that I got my Mickey Monitor in the mail today with my annual passholder savings cards. You have to have the card and go to the main ticket window between May 1 and July 31. Each card gives you 10% off the purchase of up to 6 annual passes. If anyone is interested please let me know, I would hate for them to just go to waste. We will be using 1 for Trent, Jarvis, and MeMom but that leaves us with a total of 7 savings passes left (John got 4 and I got 4). If you know of anybody that would like to take advantage of these please let me know so I can mail them to you.

Just a sweet girl you are! You must have had a right proper raising!

I am so waiting for my Mickey Monitor to arrive...........

Maybe it'll show up today and you can spread the magic, too! :dance3:

I've only been a passholder since January...so far I haven't gotten a Mickey Monitor at all--are they just a seasonal magazine? I sure hope I have one headed my way!

Call and check with someone. Mickey mail is always fun!

Jill- I am so sorry to hear about your bad day. I am glad you made it through. Moms surely do have a hard job sometimes. Of course, it is SO worth it. I love the pictures of your girls. Brooklynn really knows how to smile for a camera. The pictures of you, Memom, and the girls is great as well.

Memom- I enjoyed your thoughts about mothers. They were so sweet and true. It is incredible that you got to see a tiger getting a check-up. I think tigers are beautiful. They are my favorite animal at the zoo. We saw "our" tigers at the zoo yesterday as a matter of fact.

Glad you enjoyed the thoughts. Just random stuff from the heart.

Do you have a pretty good zoo?
One day, I would like to go to the San Diego Zoo. I don't care a thing about going to California ever, except that I would like to visit Disneyland once and take a trip to the San Diego Zoo. I doubt either of those will ever happen, though.

***************************

So today was the big day...
the day we read V is for Volunteer and learn 'The Ballad of Davy Crockett'.

I read the book and we talked about all the things that represent Tennessee, then I called out each letter and asked them to remember what it stood for in the book.
They got a good portion of it right, but there were a few interesting answers, such as:

G is for Taylor Swift. It really stood for Grand Old Opry, but one of the girls had seen Taylor Swift on the Grand Old Opry recently, so that's what she called out.

C was for chugging. In reality, it was clogging, but with a hillbilly family, I guess chugging is something they're familiar with.

O was for oppotamum, which I suppose is a cross between an opossum and a hippopotamus. We do have dead possums on the sides of our roads here, but not many dead hippos have I seen.

W was for William Wilhelm. In real life, that would be Wilma Rudolph, Olympic gold medalist.

If I think of others, I'll probably share, just in case you are wondering about the quality of education our kids are getting.

And not to disappoint, 'seeing your duty clear' still brought snickers all five times we played it.

I think the cards were only sent to non resident passholders.

Don't you just love the answers kids come up with??? I am wiping tears from my eyes over the Taylor Swift and chugging comments!

We are walking distance to Sevier Park (where we went mothers day), but go to Red Caboose often since Abby plays soccer in Bellevue, and to the Zoo Park since we are really close and have annual passes. My mother-in-law, who watches her for us (such a blessing), takes her to the Dragon Park. Not sure of the official name of that park??? It is by Vanderbilt. I love how many great parks Nashville has. We just put a contract on a house this week in Murfreesboro, so should hopefully be moving in June. I work in Murfreesboro, and my husband works in Tullahoma - he has been driving an hour and twenty minutes each way for a year. My sweet mother-in-law wants to drive down to watch Abby for us. I don't know how I can ever repay her. Abby will start three day a week school in Aug, so then she will come down to watch her 2 days a week. She is a realtor so works around that schedule. She just loves being with her grandbaby. I bet you know how she feels. I didn't have the chance to have a close day-to-day bond with my grandparents (lived on opposite coasts), so I love seeing what they share together. Looks just like the bond you have with your grandbabies:hug:.

(sorry such a long post - you just asked what park we went to - I can get very wordy and overexplain as you can tell:rolleyes1)

I am so behind on the trip report. The pictures of the girls are so precious. I did not renew my annual pass when I went in April. I thought I would get more use if I just re-newed when I am back next month. I guess that is why I did not get the monitor... bummer. I keep racking up those disney dream rewards though...

Memom....did you know you could buy Disney park merchandise at disneyshopping.com?? I just got this in my email today...I did not know!

http://www.disneystore.com/disney-parks/c/70992/

I guess this is brand new, 'cuz I've been on disneyshopping a time or two or twenty, and I've never seen it. They didn't have a lot, but it'll be nice if they build it up if it is successful.

I should record some of the conversations they have between themselves and with me. Very interesting.

Those comments are priceless!! :rotfl:

You should come and see them in person sometime.
It's a sitcom every day.
And a drama.
And sometimes a war movie.

This could be dangerous!

Whatever makes you think that???

I enjoyed the long post. It's fun to know there are other Dis-crazies around here. Are you going to try to come to the hippo on June 20th? We can meet tinkgurl, and I think Dawn and Erica are coming. We could let the girls ride the carousel.

You are fortunate to having a good mother-in-law. I know she enjoys keeping Abby. I would love to be in the financial position to just stay home and take care of my sweet little girls. And there has to be some comfort for a working parent in knowing that their baby is being cared for someone who adores them!

You are lucky to get to go a lot. We've been lucky for the last couple of years, but I'm going to have to slow it down a bit. I am going to get my AP in July, and that'll cover two summers and Christmas, and maybe October, if we really do that. Also, we've talked about a Mother's Day trip for next year instead of spring break, so that would be covered, too.

But I really do have to slow it down!

I got the e-mail too. I've been too afraid to click on the link though! LOL

I think it's safe. There's not that much yet. It could get dangerous if they start adding a lot of stuff, though.

Davy Crockett--- love it. Do you want to come and teach it to my "sweetest" kid. He chose him for his biography project.... and report. Needless to say we have a puppet done, but nothing else. He wanted to dress up like him (we have a tic tac toe board to choose activities from) but I warned him that would not be an easy costume. (his mom probably has no clue about any of this....:sad2:

BTW.. where is your favorite AK parade viewing spot? Do you think we can watch it and hit the last nemo show (I don't think I actually asked this, just wondered)

We usually choose a spot on the path from Asia to Africa. It is shaded because of all the trees back there plus there isn't a lot of open space so you don't have people standing behind you and crowding you. Depending on what time the last Nemo starts you could make it if you sat closer to Asia and just took the path past EE.

OMG MeMom I was cracking up from those answers your students gave! Taylor Swift and chugging :rotfl: Thats hilariousss! Thanks for a good laugh there :thumbsup2

I hope it's my parcel, when you see it you will know....:tink:

I can't wait for you to open it!

Too bad it didn't arrive last weekend when Brooklynn & Bella were there.

Yes, someday Henry too will be able to be cheered up with facts about poo!!
