A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: I am dying over Drew calling Bella "it!" So who fussed the most at him over that one? ;)

I truly wish we had video of Brooklyn reading to Bella -- I bet it was adorable! Did she make up her own version of the story?

We just laughed at him. You'd have to know Drew. We laugh at him a lot. He's got his things he likes and is good at, and then everything else just doesn't need to exist to him.

Brooklynn can recite those books word for word. She has a memory like you wouldn't believe!

Jill, the people want a video of her reading a book. I think you should oblige me...um, I mean them. :cutie:

Such cute pictures, so funny about Drew!!

You'd just have to know Drew to know how uncomfortable he was. At this point, I can't ever see him having a child of his own. He'd just grunt at 'it' when it was tiny and grin at 'it' as it grew.... from afar, and there would be NO diaper changing activities! He's about as comfortable with babies as I am with a car engine, and I can assure you that is not very comfortable. At least he does think a baby is cute, as long as he doesn't have to touch it! I'll tell him things Brooklynn says or does, and he'll grin or sometimes even give a snicker.

It always makes me chuckle that the big siblings don't seem fazed when the baby is screaming as the hold them... great pictures of the girls, thanks so much for sharing!

Brooklynn will often say, "You calm her down, and then I will hold her."
She's not against holding her while she's screaming, but she prefers the calm version of Bella.

"ok take it now"

Maybe he meant "ok, take the picture now"? :lmao:

I can't really say much though, cause when it comes to babies, Patrick is more comfortable with them than I am....they make me nervous and I feel out of my element....

No, he definitely meant take it, as in the alien object that he was being forced to hold that makes noises and puts out a gross smelling product from various body parts.

I can assure you that that is what he meant! :rotfl:

:lmao: oh, bella is just NOT havin it!

he reminds me of a young ray. the first time ray EVER held a baby was when his nephew was born in 1996 and ray was about 25 years old. and the first babies that any of our friends had, he would like lean away from them because he said they were "contagious" and he made sure i didn't drink the water in their houses!!!! it took him awhile but he's definitely changed his tune. it's probably a good thing he was like that because i wasn't ready to have a baby until now anyway. i'm a late bloomer! i think bella looks like she likes her uncle drew anyway.

oh, and that picture with trent and the girls is adorable. :goodvibes

Drew has been around kids all his life. Ever since he got here, I have been keeping kids in my home, in summer camps, at church, at school...
You'd think he'd have developed some kind of ability to cope with wee ones, but no luck so far. He still pretty much walks an exaggerated distance around them when he can!

Trent, on the other hand, voluntarily captures the girls and loves on them. It's just a matter of time before he feels like Bella is big enough to make her first official Bubby flight up high and into the air as he buzzes around the room and goes dangerously close to the ceiling fan while Jill and I gasp and say, "Don't hit the fan!" and he calmly says, "I've got it all under control."

Yes, that was a run-on sentence, but that is just exactly how it goes.

Brooklynn looks so big holding Bella!

You certainly have a beautiful family, Jill and MeMom!

She's getting to be a big girl, and she's a good helper for her Mommy.

Thank you for the kind words. I think they are beautiful, and they are the most incredible gifts from God I have ever had!

Very cute pics!!

Glad you enjoyed them.

My brothers are not baby people either. I love watching them interact with the kids now that my boys talk, have developed true interests, and have some sense of humor. I am sure you are seeing much of that with Drew.

And that bone... OWWW!!!

Drew will acknowledge Brooklynn. He'll watch her do things and laugh at her. If the day ever comes when he volunteers to interact with her without coaxing, then we'll know he has arrived!

That bone is so weird looking. It sticks straight out the front of his shoulder.

I love the pictures. Lexi "reads" me that same book. You already know her love for animals and she has all of those "what to you see/hear" books. I am looking forward to hearing how you fare on your four parks in one day. I am sure that you will be able to do it.

Here's the Four Parks plan, as of now:

We're going to open Epcot and ride Soarin'. Whatever else we do, if anything, is just up to time.

Then we'll go to Cape May for a 10:05 brunch.

After that, it's off to the Magical Kingdom! :)
It's undecided what we'll do there. I'm fine with just riding the train around the whole park, but if we have time to ride a ride or two without much wait, I'm all for it. I'd like to ride Splash or Big Thunder, but it would depend on the wait times.

After that, I'm guessing Jill will be taking the girls back to the room for naps and then meeting me later at Animal Kingdom. Our thought was to watch the Jammin' Jungle Parade at 3:45. I'll be happy walking the trails until they get there. I'd love to do a safari, but I kind of hate to do that without them, so I'll probably just walk around and take pictures of animals and pretty flowers

and cool lights

and merchandise

and signs

and unusual cracks in the sidewalk.

After Animal Kingdom, we'll go to Hollywood Studios to eat mass quantities of food at Hollywood and Vine. I don't know if we'll have time for any other attraction before we go to Fantasmic.

So, as you can see, it's still going to be a very relaxed schedule with plenty of in between time. It's not like what one might think - riding two or three big rides and then racing for another park to do the same again and then falling out from exhaustion at the end of the day.

I'll be quite happy to share the day with my kids, hit every park for a few minutes, take lots of pictures, and manage to walk out of the Studios in the evening without falling flat on my face as I go to throw my trash away. :rolleyes1

Being in Disney World on my birthday is very nice. I don't care a thing about my birthdays normally, but if I have to have one, then being in Disney World makes it special.

That sounds like a great birthday plan. I really want to try four parks in one day.
I love that Brooklynn says "to calm Bellarie down and then she will hold her". Spoken like a true Princess.

Good morning, Brooklyn! ;)

No I didn't have a stroke during that last post it was Brooklynn dising before school.

 I saw it and knew that Brooklyn had been dising again! :goodvibes

Good Morning Jill.

I figured either Brooklynn or Bella's toe.:cool1:

Haha, hello Brookie! :cutie:

Great updates... You guys are going to love Teppan Edo. The food is really good. I just wish they would offer the fried rice - they just give you white.

I just got back from my way too short trip to Disney... we got the VIP treatment. Turns out my friends family are all CM's at Disney. one works in BBB in Magic Kingdom, one works fantasmic at DHS and their Dad works security. We did not have to pay to get into Typhoon Lagoon and we got into the parks for free... I decided not to renew my annual pass... I will get a new pass in June when I go to my conference... That way I will get more use out of it.

Yeah, Jill says she'll still need a sleep late day the next day. It'll probably take us forever to get out of Fantasmic, through the crowds, on the bus, and back to Pop.

''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''lllllllllllllllllllllllrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb.......................bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb:scared1::flower3:pirate::flower3::cheer2:pirate::angel:

Brook, you are two and a half years old. Write a word or a sentence, not just jibber jabber!

I love MeMom! would be a good sentence to write.

No I didn't have a stroke during that last post it was Brooklynn dising before school.

It's good to hear that there was no major medical malfunction in your house this morning.

Good morning, Brooklyn!

I saw it and knew that Brooklyn had been dising again!

I bet it was all those bbbbbb's that gave it away, huh?
She zones in on the B key!
She always seems to pick a pirate smilie, too. pirate:
She's thinking of the ride, of course.

So since Brooklynn already dis'es, when is she getting her own account?

At a young age, I bet.
I've seen some thirteen year olds around the boards.

I figured either Brooklynn or Bella's toe.

Bella has long skinny feet.
If she hit the keyboard, she'd end up typing CVBN. :)
Bella has spent a good bit of time Dising with her Mommy already.
She'll probably miss it when she has to go to school in June.

Hi Brooklynn. My Lexi wants to say hi to Brooklynn too. aaaaaaaaaaajjjjjjjjn zzzzzzzzzzzzzwwwwwwwwwwrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyy:laundy::

Good Morning Jill.

:rotfl:

Okay, I got something about aging, bees (zzz), and worry.
Am I right?

Oh yeah, and Mommy has laundry to do. ;)

I love the fact that you're taking a relaxed trip!

Haha, hello Brookie! :cutie:

There will be plenty of down time, especially with the little girls.

I totally agree about the rice. I was already thinking about that.

Sounds like you did get the royal treatment. Good for you!
Do you have at least a few pictures to share with us?

I'll be renewing my AP this summer, I am pretty sure. That'll get me through two summer trips, a Christmas trip, possibly a long October weekend, if I can sponge off Jill and John and room with them for two nights if they go, and if I can talk anyone into it, maybe another spring break trip next year.

Okay, on with the rest of our Downtown Disney shopping.

I wanted to go to Basin to get some soaps for Jill and a couple of other people.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK182.jpg

I love the smell of that place, and the soaps are a great gift!

Then on to World of Disney.

I was going to get a picture of the Design-a-Tee place, but they were closing.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK190.jpg

You'll see more later in the trip when we go back to make a shirt for our friend, Jarvis.

So, that's it for Day One.

Day Two, we will go to Animal Kingdom. You know that I love that park, and I love to take pictures in that park.

Do you want to see some of them?
I promise they're not all of purses!

Oooh I can't wait to see the shirt you make Jarvis!

Of course I want to see pictures!

I would like to see some Animal Kingdom photos, please!

As soon as Chelsea gets off the phone (ahhh, the joys of living with a middle school girl), I will have to show her the new Minnies -- she gets a Minnie on every trip that she takes. :goodvibes

Okay, I got something about aging, bees (zzz), and worry.
Am I right?

Oh yeah, and Mommy has laundry to do. ;)

I actually did do laundry. :) I let her pick the smiles she wanted. She does know who Brooklynn is in the pictures as she likes to look at them while I am. She ran right over when I asked her if she wanted to say hi to Brookie. She also said Bella was not happy in the picture of them both on the couch.:rotfl:

Ditto on the Animal Kingdom pictures! I like the red and green floral bags. There's a really cute bag at the Disney Store that I've been resisting buying but I don't know how much longer I can hold out!

I love Basin! They have such unique items in there.

It's a good thing we don't have one of those locally or my credit card would get into some trouble!

all caught up.

great updates and pics.

The film was directed by the same director who did "Planet Earth". it was the same footage from the show. They said very few changes were done, I own it so I have no need to see it in the movies but I am sure it was breath takinbg especially on a digital screen.

The merchandise looked so nice, I will take one of everything.

Oooh I can't wait to see the shirt you make Jarvis!

Of course I want to see pictures!

We were looking for a Donald Duck shirt for Jarvis the whole time we were there, but since we couldn't find one that suited us, we ended up going to Design-a-Tee and making our own. He loved it, and he now wears it often!

But I like purse pics...

But what about Dad? I don't know if I have enough pictures of manly things to keep him hanging around here. :)

I would like to see some Animal Kingdom photos, please!

I was glad to see color again. The blue and white everything had been old to us for a long time. That's the size little pals I have in my long window at school. My students think they are the coolest things, and teachers and parents who visit my classroom seem to get a kick out of them, too. (We sometimes end up talking about how they need to book a Disney trip.) I usually get a new one every trip, and sometimes I get more than one. I didn't get the Celebrate friends, though. Maybe this summer; we'll see.

Yeah, Brooklynn likes to pick her letters and smiles, too. She'll be ready for computer games pretty soon, and will surpass me in computer knowledge by Kindergarten, I am sure.

Bella was definitely not happy on the couch, and she was letting them know it!!!

Ditto on the Animal Kingdom pictures! I like the red and green floral bags. There's a really cute bag at the Disney Store that I've been resisting buying but I don't know how much longer I can hold out!

I loved those bags, too! I like the ones that just have that nice subtle Disney touch. It is a good thing I just stick with one bag, basic black, because if I was the kind who changed bags with every outfit, I would have already spent hundreds on Disney bags! For now, I just appease myself by enjoying the pictures of bags that other people took home. I know they are out there somewhere, putting a nice little Disney touch in their lives. :goodvibes

Love the soap! They are so cute!

And they have so many, many more cute ones. That store is awesome!

I love Basin! They have such unique items in there.

It's a good thing we don't have one of those locally or my credit card would get into some trouble!

I agree. I'd go there to buy gifts, and I'd go there to pretend I was in Downtown Disney. :rotfl:

I read a whole big explanation of how they took the best clips from the longer series, so it's not like they were trying to fool anybody, in my opinion. Trent and I very much enjoyed it, and yes, it was made more glorious on the big screen, I think. I have seen beautiful places and beautiful things in nature, and this film allowed me to see even more of the beauty that this planet has if we take the time to get past the concrete, litter, smoke, etc.

In your new place, are you adding some Disney touches?

*****************************

We are supposed to be going to the Nashville Zoo today. The forecast has been for 60% rain and thunderstorms, but Lelan is saying this morning that they are much more scattered thna we thought in this area, so as of his morning report, it looks like we're in okay shape to go. I'll probably pull a cheap poncho out of my Disney bag, just in case.

As for Animal Kingdom and Day Two, you know I had to start out with a morning walk first, right?

So for whatever reason, my sweet tooth, I guess, this is the first picture of the morning.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK191.jpg

It makes me think of the Bill Cosby story about him giving his kids chocolate cake for breakfast when Mom wasn't around.

Does anyone else remember this song?

Dad is great!
He gives us some chocolate cake!

I did not buy the chocolate cake for breakfast, although it did at the time, and still does, look good!

In the real world, I would never pay $3.59 for a piece of cake.
In Disney World, I would not have batted an eyelash at spending that much.

If a drink mug can be exciting, this one was.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK192.jpg

I was so glad to see color.
I didn't get one, because I'm a water drinker, but Kay did.
She thought it was very exciting that she could fill it up as many times as she wanted to, and she said she uses the one she got last year a lot. I haven't talked to her in the last week or so, but I imagine she's happily sipping away from her new one these days.

Morning at Pop.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK193.jpg

This is probably where I'd be standing right now, if I was down there.

A couple of beautiful palm trees under a tiny moon.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK194.jpg

A CM was cleaning the sidewalk, so he had out glowing cones for warnings.

Jill and the girls are meeting me there, so I'm very happy about that! :lovestrucprincess::cutie:
