A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

Thanks for the pics of Pop! We loved it there last year. I can't wait until we can be back there again. Have a great day at the zoo!

I love the red plaid purse!! :thumbsup2

And yes - I remember that Bill Cosby chocolate cake skit. :rotfl: Isn't that the same album where he does the "Come here!" and the one where he goes to the dentist and talks with his mouth numb??

Have fun at the zoo today!

I am so glad to have new colors and decorations at Disney as well! I was over the blue, white, and silver.

I can't wait to get our new refillable mugs in June!!! (In just 38 days! ;))

Thoroughly enjoyed the early morning walk around Pop! We may be staying there in 2010 as my MIL is talking about coming with us. :goodvibes

Have a great day at the Zoo!

You even get to see your girls today, that is a wonderful bonus! :simba:

:3dglasses We went to the Hannah Montana movie last night, it was a very cute movie.
Lexi just loved it and my Dmom said she even shed a tear or two....okay I was touched during it too. ;)

BrooklynnsMommy, Bella and Brooklynn have the cutest little outfits. They are so adorable together. I'm sure she will DIS when she gets bigger. She already has tons of friends on here young and old. :goodvibes
Have a good time at the zoo.

Poor Drew, does he still have pain from that bone or does it just look bad?
I think the pic with Bella is sweet, he is smiling. :)

I love the 'Celebrate' stuff! I'm sure we will get the Mickey one.
I'm happy too that they have added color, the ballons are fun.
Even the bus is decorated for the party!

Did you notice the bag has hidden Mickey's and hibiscus flowers...so cool.
I'm the girl you were mentioning when you said "the person who changes bag with outfits"....:rotfl2:

Lexi said she wants to stay at POP, your pics are just too nice.
I bet they are all booked up by now.
I told her next time...oh, let me correct that....next year...

I don't see the hidden Memom this time?

The ice tea tins are very cute, I would buy them just for decoration.

Enjoy, the day!

Have a great day at the zoo (super fun that Jill and the girls are meeting you there). We field trip it on Friday- but my girls are not meeting me there- but a historical village is not something they would like.... the zoo would be it!

I would like to see some Animal Kingdom photos, please!

As soon as Chelsea gets off the phone (ahhh, the joys of living with a middle school girl), I will have to show her the new Minnies -- she gets a Minnie on every trip that she takes. :goodvibes

I love that tradition! So cute. I usually end up with at least one stuffed animal per trip. :thumbsup2'

MeMom - love the mug pictures. I can't decide what color lid I want when I get mine. I think it's going to be one of those last minute decisions. :rotfl:
I really hope they do something great with the other half of Pop. I would love to stay in one of those decades, hopefully someday. :worship:

Here's our bus!

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK207.jpg

Oh, how I would love to be on a Disney bus right now! I was sitting in the music lab yesterday and the air conditioning came on. It smelled just like a Disney bus in the mornings - before it has held lots of rather warm guests.

Great update MeMom! I hope the rain holds off and you can enjoy both the zoo and your girls!

But what about Dad? I don't know if I have enough pictures of manly things to keep him hanging around here. :)

Did you spot the Hidden MeMom?

The food pictures help.:)

Was your picture in that shadow box as a young mouseketeer? ;)

Oooh this was a good update, MeMom! :yay:

Haha, I do remember that Cosby show where they were eating choc.cake!

I love seeing pictures of WDW in the wee hours of the morning. Makes it look so peaceful and serene. :goodvibes

Glowing orange cones?! How freakin' awesome!!!! I've never seen that before.

I found the hidden MeMom! Are you wearing a red-ish colored shirt?!

Aw, that pic of everyone getting on the bus made me sad. :guilty: I MISS WDW! :upsidedow

Hope you have a great day at the zoo!! It's in the 50's here today. Brrrrrr
Love your pics of POP in the morning. It's so peaceful.

Loved the early morning pics! So peaceful!!!!

How does POP compare to the other value resorts as far as crowds go? I've read it's a lot more crowded (food courts, check in, pools, etc.) at POP than it is at the All Stars b/c it is so popular. Did you think so? Also, what buildings are closest to the bus loading area and food court? We are considering a stay there next time. Last time we stayed at Movies and loved it. Just wondering what the differences are. Thanks!

Have a great day at the zoo MeMom -- I am so glad you get to see your girls. I cannot wait to see your AK pics. I did not get to go to that park this time around. I will probably head over there in June. I miss the Disney Buses. I wish I was back already.

I am loving all the bag pics! If I can't go down to WDW to buy my own, I can at least shop in this thread!

I sooo remember the chocolate cake skit! We still sing the "Dad is great! Gives us chocolate cake!" song around here.

I hope the zoo trip is a blast. With the extra guests you have coming, I don't know how it couldn't be a great day!

We sing the song all the time also.
I hope that you are having a great time at the zoo. It is apretty day in here in Georgia so hopefully you are having the same weather.

Thank you for the Pop Century pictures this morning, they brightened by day, and many thanks for all the shopping pictures. I love to Disney shop(by just looking).

Sending good wishes your way at the Zoo today and a restful place to place your feet tonight. I am looking forward to maybe a few zoo pictures of the girls.

I love all the morning pictures and I definitely remember the chocolate cake song!! My parents had me trained on Bill Cosby since i've been little!! I can still laugh at everything, I used to get a kick out of the dentist part!! The picture of the bus sure gave me butterflies I can't believe how close I am (yet so far, hmph)

Hey MeMom, is the Design-A-Tee very expensive? Just curious. :) Hope you are doing well and had fun at the zoo!

Thanks for the pics of Pop! We loved it there last year. I can't wait until we can be back there again. Have a great day at the zoo!

You are welcome. A little under 90 days for us. Maybe one day we'll be there at the same time.

We did have a nice day at the zoo.

I love the red plaid purse!!

And yes - I remember that Bill Cosby chocolate cake skit. Isn't that the same album where he does the "Come here!" and the one where he goes to the dentist and talks with his mouth numb??

Album? You know about albums??? :rotfl:
I think it probably is the same one.
"Here. Come here!"

Thoroughly enjoyed the early morning walk around Pop! We may be staying there in 2010 as my MIL is talking about coming with us.

Now that you're staying in all the fancy-schmancy places, you might not like Pop so much. I hope you do, though.

You've still got 38 days until you go on your next trip and you're already planning a 2010 trip.
Seriously? Who does that??? :rolleyes1

I have heard most everyone say the Hannah Montana movie has a good storyline and was really good.

Drew doesn't complain about any pain, so I guess it just looks funky.
Okay, he just happened to come through the house, and I asked him. He said if he works it too long or bumps it, it hurts, but just walking around, it doesn't.
I'm kind of surprised that he didn't use it as an excuse not to hold Bella!

Oh yes, I noticed the Hidden Mickeys in the bags, and I really, really like those particular bags.

Look again, and you might see a splotch that looks like a woman in a dark pink shirt taking a picture straight above her head.

I know what you mean about the tins. Very cute.

Have a great day at the zoo (super fun that Jill and the girls are meeting you there). We field trip it on Friday- but my girls are not meeting me there- but a historical village is not something they would like.... the zoo would be it!

We were a little concerned about the rain, but it didn't rain until about 2:30, so we were safe. It was a nice day. Last year, they met me at the Tennessee Aquarium. I love having them come and do fun things like that!

I love that tradition! So cute. I usually end up with at least one stuffed animal per trip. :thumbsup2'

I imagine we'll get one of every color lid this summer, with all who are going.

What I read was that they might ditch the original plans and change it to doing it like Movies, but in the classics that were created during those older years. It remains to be seen, but I think that would be a great theme. It'll be forever before they doing something now, with the economy in such a slump.

You know you can buy Basin online...right? basin.com *evil grin*

I knew that.
And yes, you are evil.
So far, I have done nothing but look online.
I'll probably just stick with buying things as gifts when I'm in WDW.

Oh, how I would love to be on a Disney bus right now! I was sitting in the music lab yesterday and the air conditioning came on. It smelled just like a Disney bus in the mornings - before it has held lots of rather warm guests.

Whenever I am near a bus, I think of Disney buses. I'm not near a bus that often, but when I am, it's Disney thoughts every time.

Great update MeMom! I hope the rain holds off and you can enjoy both the zoo and your girls!

It did, and I did. :goodvibes

The food pictures help.:)

Was your picture in that shadow box as a young mouseketeer? ;)

Okay, more food pictures for Dad.
Gotta keep good old Dad!

I very well could have been a Mouseketeer. I was born in '57.
19, not 18, before you say something cute. ;)

I distinctly remember watching The Mickey Mouse Club when I was younger.
I had no idea what an addiction those little mouse-eared caps would mean for me all these years later.

Oooh this was a good update, MeMom! :yay:

Yep, a dark pink shirt. You found me.

Hope you have a great day at the zoo!! It's in the 50's here today. Brrrrrr
Love your pics of POP in the morning. It's so peaceful.

It was beautiful here. It got hot for about thirty minutes when the sun was out good, but most of the time it was overcast.

Pop is very peaceful in the morning. It's very different around that pool most of the day, though!

Loved the early morning pics! So peaceful!!!!

Just wondering what the differences are. Thanks!

The food court will be crowded IF you are there at peak times. We use it at off hours, so we don't have food court problems.

The best place to request, I think is the 70's, possibly the Big Wheel building.

Movies seemed more worn than Pop to us, but Pop is more worn than Music. Music is now refurbished - bright paint, new bedspreads and curtains, etc. Music also has the movies out on the big screen at night, so it has a lot of positives. I have developed a fondness for Music in the last year, but I still love my Pop. Movies has better icons for kids, but Music has cleaner, updated rooms. Pop has a good kiddie pool and the Goofy jets that kids love.

Have a great day at the zoo MeMom -- I am so glad you get to see your girls. I cannot wait to see your AK pics. I did not get to go to that park this time around. I will probably head over there in June. I miss the Disney Buses. I wish I was back already.

You were just there!!!
I know the feeling.

I got to spend pretty much all day with them.
I appreciated Jill making the trip.

I like looking at them all, too. I am actually kind of proud of myself for the constraint I have shown in not purchasing any of them.

Another chocolate cake family! Yay! I'm glad I'm not the only one who remembered that.

My VIP guests made the day an excellent one!

*******************************

We had a very nice day at the zoo. The girls were waiting for us at the entrance when we arrived.

Bella slept until about ten minutes before we left, so we were able to totally focus on Brooklynn. Well, and my students, of course.

My students were so excited to see elephants, tigers, snakes, and just everything! We were not able to stay long enough for them to see everything, because the buses have to run afternoon routes. I hope a lot of them will be able to go back with their families and spend some more time.

Jill stopped and got Cracker Barrel and brought it back to school. We enjoyed eating that together and then watched the kids play on the playground. My big girls hovered over Brooklynn like little mother hens.

After school, we ran by Opry Mills, since Jill hadn't been to the Disney Store since February and was suffering severe withdrawals. She got some cute stuff, and we found some $2.99 t-shirts for the kids for Saturday's Disney party.

Anyway, it was a nice day here in Mid-Tenn. I hope you guys had a good day, too!
